Uncle Skeeters Roofs and Gutters

My first experience with soliciting multiple quotes to complete a large project. The owner, staff and workers from US displayed knowledge of the roofing needs I had, professionalism in researching the correct solution, and presented a reasonably priced bid. On top of that, when I followed up with questions, they went out of their way to find the answer. They called ahead to let me know when they were coming by, explained why their solution was the best option, and didn’t treat me as an ignorant customer. Highly recommended.

If I could give them zero stars — or even negative stars — I would! i thought I checked Unilocal before hiring these guys, but maybe the reviews weren’t there yet… otherwise we would’ve NEVER hired these guys.
First, we hired Uncle Skeeters to do our roof. The pitch was professional, they were friendly and we decided to go with them… BECAUSE we also needed some trim replaced and painted and they said they could do the entire job. The roof project was done quickly and as promised, we were happy with that. BUT! We hired them to essentially do two jobs and they really only completed one to our satisfaction. They admitted that they hired a new contractor they had never used before to do the painting and trim replacement. The paint guys would show up, and leave. Or not show up at all. I would call Uncle Skeeters and nobody would answer or return any messages we left. The painting was such a poor job, we were continually pointing out spots (huge) that they missed and ended up having to do some spots OURSELVES. When we complained to the representative he admitted they hadn’t used them before and I would guess they obviously just did what they had to do to get us to hire them.
The real kicker, they obviously had to remove the gutters to do the trim replacement and painting, but they told us they were NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO THE GUTTERS. WTH??? Why would WE be responsible for what THEY do? If they take the gutters off, they are responsible. We fought them on that and they relented. But then, after attaching the gutters when work was completed, we found that they repeated leaked when it rained. We asked them to return and seal it up and they CLAIMED they did (conveniently while both my husband and I were at work) and it still leaked. We took photos and videos of the leaks and kept calling and emailing. Uncle Skeeters stopped even returning our calls or emails. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. We have a contractor we’ve used in Waldorf before, and WE SHOULD’VE STAYED WITH HIM! He would’ve never considered the job completed until there weren’t any leaks. DO NOT USE UNCLE SKEETERS!!! I cannot stress this enough… DO NOT USE UNCLE SKEETERS!!!

CUSTOMERS BEWARE! THIS IS A COMPANY THAT YOU DON’T WANT TO USE … READ ON AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHY. I’ve used Uncle Skeeters for the past couple of years twice per year. Well this past time they sent out someone new to clean out my gutters. This person didn’t do a very good job so my son decided to take a look at the gutters after this guy left. My son said that their was still stuff in the gutters and that the guy barely did anything. So I called the company and they apologized and said that they would send out the guys who normally did my gutters and wouldn’t charge me for it. I had to call back to find out when they were going to schedule the redo appt. They told me that it had not been rescheduled yet. All I kept getting was phone calls to pay my bill and nasty notices saying that they were going to send me to a collection agency. They never had the supervisor call me even though they said he would and I’ve requested that phone on several occasions. Never once did anyone call me about the appoint being reschedule or to discuss the problem. I then got another call about paying my bill and I said that I would pay for it once they came out and corrected the job that they didn’t do right the first time. Then the representative said well they came out just last week and cleaned the gutter again. Funny because it rained that week and the gutter were overflowing. So I know that they had not been cleaned again. This company has either switched hands or hired some really untrustworthy people. If this is the kind of people that they have coming out to your house BEWARE. They lie and then the company stands by their liars and don’t do a good job. Very disappointing since we were using them twice a year and I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE AGAIN. INSTEAD I WILL WARN THEM ABOUT THEIR BUSINESS PRACTICES OR LACK THERE OF.

Called to see if I wanted to schedule a cleaning. I guess they didn’t get how in satisfied I was. I really wish I could give a half star.
