Hotchkiss ObGyn

After conducting research online and by conducting personal interviews of women I knew that lived in the Waldorf area, I decided to try Dr. Hotchkiss. I had to seek another physician after I was told my doctor retired and sold his business to a local network. In addition, I was told I could see the currently assigned physician, however; I felt it was a good time to find another doctor.
From the minute of my arrival, I was greeted by a very professional and warm staff. I advised it was my first visit and that I was looking to speaking with the doctor before totally committing to becoming a patient. I was assured that I would find Dr. Hotchkiss to be caring of my personal gynecological health and that he would sit down with me before any exam would be conducted as a formal meet and greet.
While waiting another patient told me she had been Dr. Hotchkiss’s patient for years and she assured me he was a outstanding doctor that cares about his patients,
As promised, he came into the room, introduced himself and together we discussed my previous health care, my goals and he advised he would conduct my annual exam upon completion of my interview/​consultation session. He knew my previous gyn and thanked me for the opportunity to afford me care.
I was extremely impressed with my visit and thought that a lot of doctor’s could gain from Dr. Hotchkiss team and their bedside manner! I like and support small business physicians. I feel a lot of time when doctor’s belly up with these networks or huge teams that sometimes the patients are left holding the bag in regards to receiving that old fashion quality healthcare. So my hat goes off to Dr. Hotchkiss and his team: they get it that money is green and could be spent anywhere. I have now found a great Gyn!
I understand that part of having a good doctor is knowing how to be a good patient! My health is very important to me and therefore selecting the right doctor is equally as important!

I am very disappointed in the way that I was treated by the previous partnership of Dr Hotchkiss. After emotionally expressing the last appt. I had w/​a gyno over 7 years ago in the Waldorf area that left me scared and untrusting of any gyno because I was told numerous untrue things concerning my health including a cancer of the blood. I had to see a specialist a week later which left me thinking how I would tell my children and my parents I will die because she also said there were 3 spots on different organs that shows it spread. After seeing a specialist he couldn’t get over all I was told by that Dr. I was healthy and only had IBS ! I was afraid for over 7 years BUT I found out Dr Hotchkiss took my insurance and I made an appt. with him I made it very clear to the staff that I only trusted Dr. Hotchkiss because he took wonderful care of me 30 years ago with prenatal care of my 1^st child. I had to change Dr due to change of insurance programs. When I left it was a very difficult time because I felt so comfortable with him. The staff called me from his previous office again and after telling her my story, knowing what I been through still took and told me he had retired and not telling the truth so I would see one of their Dr in their practice. After a friend who knew my medical history (who was worried about my health) saw his ad and called me and told me he didn’t retire and gave me his new number. I was so excited that I called for appt I had to wait for his office to get set up but he is worth waiting for! I had my appt. with Dr. Hotchkiss and he is still the caring, compassionate Doctor I remembered 30 years ago ! I Feel That I Have Returned HOME!!! He will really have to retire to get rid of me. I feel the team he partnered with is more concerned about the money than the patients! I glad I found out the truth because that carries a weight of trust that cannot be measured! Very bad business practice!!! If you are looking for an ob/​gyn I highly recommend Dr. Hotchkiss you won’t be disappointed. To all his previous patients… Call Home he is waiting to hear from you!!! very disappointed that dr hotckiss retired out of nowhere when he clearly told us he woudlnt be leaving civista (and opening up his own practice until october) and didnt let his patients know. i now have to wait over 2 weeks to see another ob in the start of my pregnancy which worries me. that wasnt right and totally unexpected
