Thundermist Health Center of South County

I saw Dr. Omar Chahbandar when I was in tremendous pain. He was patient with me and didn’t overwhelm me. He explained to me all my options. I had root canals done by Dr. Omar Chahbandar that NEVER EVEN HURT and multiple fillings on my teeth done by Dr. Omar Chahbandar. He fixed all my front teeth so I can finally smile with confidence and I no longer have pain in my mouth so I can eat with no discomfort. If you need a dentist at affordable price I would def recommend this doctor.

I wish I could give Thundermist a 2 and a half star. I want to have hope for it’s future. Unfortunately I’ve had mixed results with Thundermist. There were some excellent doctors who were there for me and my family in extremely trying times. There were also some dismissive doctors who ignored what I told them to my detriment (seriously I had to get a blood transfusion.)
Now I’d normally say that it’s a case of individual doctors. I don’t when I refer to Thundermist because they don’t seem to be consistent with certain programs and their focus on illnesses. Their Behavioral Health Services look outdated yet their Social Services & Healthcare for the Homeless Services are extended and have specific programs. Their website doesn’t offer a list of attending Doctors. There’s no Obstetrical Care (as far as I can tell from what’s on their website,) in Wakefield as if there’s no low income women in South County who need that kind of care.
I came here for at least 10 years. I used to take my kids here. My son was diagnosed with pediatric rheumatoid arthritis. Then I left for a few years. When I came back I found all but one doctor I knew gone. I knew this would happen. Thundermist is the kind of place where doctors stay for a while then move on. The people in the front who deal with the records, many of them had changed. I rarely had a problem with them.
The new doctor I saw was excited to treat me for my chronic condition. His suggestions disregarded my years of knowledge about my condition and he didn’t seem to want to listen to me when I told him I didn’t want medications I’d already tried and suffered through. So I left. I like my Doctor now. So maybe that was a good thing, my leaving.
Anyways, I don’t know if this is the same as back when I came but if you walked in without an appointment you could wait an hour or more. Even having an appointment you’d wait for 15 to 30 minutes.
I hope other people post reviews. I’d like to see this place improve.

This place is great! I called then in the morning because my «uninsured «girlfriend had sever tooth pain. They made an appointment for her that day! Keep in mind that I called other dental clinics and not one of them could accommodate her! Upon arriving, the staff was very friendly and professional. When the dentist examined my girlfriend he discovered that she had a severe infection in her root. The doctor asked her if she wanted it removed and she agreed. I also expressed that I too would like it removed. He agreed to remove it that day! I couldn’t take the site of the procedure so I left and went into the waiting room. After I left, I later found out (my girlfriend told me) that the doctor asked my girlfriend if she really wanted her tooth removed. Was it something she wanted to do or was I pressuring her to have the procedure done? He informed her that it was her body and she should make the final decision and that there were other options. He told her he went to a conference and learned that significant others can often influence their partner to do what they want and not what they really wants to do. I thought this was unbelievable! A dentist that actually goes to a conference, learns something and applies it in their practice! Not like most doctors, who go to steak houses and get wined and dined by some pretty blond pharmaceutical rep so they can prescribe an often unnecessary medication. This dentist (unfortunately I cannot remember his name but he was tall with scruffy hair) was very kind and sincere. He made the visit stress free and put us at ease! I praise this dentist! I think we need more people like him in the medical field that actually care about their patients. Thank you very much Thunder mist! Keep up the good work!

Oh how I’ve missed the RI health care system. Nowhere else Ive ever lived (and ive lived in a lot of places!) is there a place like this.
Its CLEAN, which for a walk-​in clinic is nice. (ive been to some serious dumps out in LA that resembled the DMV).
The employees are really helpful and the Dr.‘s, I know they see hundreds of people a week, but they give you their full attention and actually care how you are feeling!
