Awesome service and hard to find organic baby products. On vacation and desperate, I drove there from Western Massachusetts because they were the only store within 100 miles that carried the formula our daughter drinks.

They get at least an average review for carrying a good variety of products, the modern look, and the friendly staff. However, I find some things overpriced and lacking in quality control. It is $ 1+ more for green and black chocolate than at another health food store and the grocery store. Also, $ 11 for a small loaf of clearly very freezer burned paleo bread? What kind of quality control is that. Just 2 examples. I think I will stick with other specialty markets I know of

There is a large selection of all natural and organic pantry items, beauty care, supplements, snacks, frozen foods, and bulk items. The produce section is very small but does stress the importance of local organic deliciousness. I do not live in Wakefield, but every so often I do make sure I come to Food For Thought. There are many vegan and gluten free options that I have not seen at other stores, even including Whole Foods. I like that they sell some home goods like Preserve plates and cutting boards. There are even books for sale and a small area to sit down. The people who work here are always friendly, helpful and if there is a product out of stock they right away go to the back and make sure that the item honestly is not available. I have moved to other states and come back to Rhode Island almost regularly now. If there is a product that I noticed is no longer being carried I usually mention it and by the time I end up back in Rhode Island I see that the product is back on the shelf. My only«thing» is that the produce section is so small, I would shop here more often if I could get my greens, fruits and so forth.

This is a top quality local food source. Been in business over 20 years and the shop sure shows it. Everything is well organized and layed out well. Tons of natural foods and body care. They focus on selling locally grown and produced foods. All priced similiarly to Whole Foods but with way more local options and a bunch of knowledgable staff.
