Pros: Bonneyville Mill Park’s tranquil mornings are perfect for photography. Village Inn serves cornmeal mush, a favorite breakfast item for Amish farmers. Country Lane Bakery is a set in beautiful countryside and is the locals’ favorite for cinnamon rolls. I prefer the cinnamon rolls made by the Amish communities of Ohio. Rise n Roll Bakery can be skipped if you are evading the tourist traps. Dutch Country Market makes noodles onsite and the bee hives are fun to watch. Shipshewana host a gigantic flea market on Tuesdays and Wednesdays where the freshness of the produce cannot be matched, especially in that price range. Jojo Pretzels at the Goshen location is the best and least expensive pretzel I have ever had. Cons: Tourist trap galore.

This was the first of many Quilt gardens that we visited in the Amish area of northern Indiana. We had a map from the internet and the gardens were fairly easy to find. This review is for the quilt gardens in general. I liked seeing them but only a few had stairs where you could actually see the garden in its entirety. This particular garden seemed to be planted at more of an angle than other which made it easier to photograph and see the quilt design. I love the idea of these gardens and all of the volunteers who make them possible. We were in Indiana for a wedding so we spent an extra night and toured the gardens. I would not make a special trip but they are more than worth seeing if you happen to be in the area.
