Ka’aha’aina Cafe

We ate here several times and the food is always terrific and ample. We had Chef Mark prepare our 50^th Anniversary luau with kalua pork, chicken long rice, lomi salmon, sweet potatoes, rice, li hing pineapple and the very delicious warm bread pudding. Over 100 guests and everyone raved about the food. And so, we’re here again today!

Pretty neat café. It’s nice and breezy. Nice and clean. Beautiful view. Might have to revisit this place.

Yummy food, relatively fast service, beautiful views, customer service could be better– at least pretend you enjoy your job.

If you live on the west side, you know there aren’t a lot of places where you can get quality food at a reasonable price. That’s why I’m glad kaahaaina café is where it is.
It’s not really a normal take-​out place, because it’s nestled snugly in the middle of the Waianae Comprehensive Center. It’s not easy to find because it almost comes off as a kitchen for the cafeteria for the center’s staff. No joke. If you can find it you’ll know what I mean.
But it’s saving grace is the food. Any plate lunch that comes with Waimanalo greens as a side, rather than macaroni salad is considered «high-​end» plate lunch to me. I always order the hamburger steak when I’m there.
Make room for their dessert because their bread pudding is awesome.

Best view and best breakfast we had. Who eats at a hospital cafeteria? Nice options, clean and a wrap around deck overlooking the beautiful. Afterward out back walk the «legacy walk». A way of thanking contributors to the medical facility. Here you can see many fruit trees and flowers as you walk a beautiful brick path.

Cafeteria/​restaurant tucked away behind the Waianae Community Health Center. Although the lady behind the counter didn’t smile or was in the least bit friendly, the food arrived quickly and was delicious. Decent sized portions at decent prices. The view outside is great, nice and relaxing.

The food here is very nice and is also inexpensive. The time from ordering to eating was very short and the eating area is very spacious. The best part though is the wide doors all along the wall that let the sea breeze through the whole place and the view of the ocean.
In reference to what other people have said: they do accept credit cards and it is in fact a little strange finding this place with Google maps.

Ono food, always go there for breakfast… I always get the puka pants and the Chinatown omelette… the view is nice… great friendly staff, spacious lounge… everything about this place is perfect!

Definitely a great buy if you’re on the Westside of Oahu. And they have THE best BREAD PUDDING on the island!

Had lunch with my son. He had hamburger, garlic fries and a can soda. I had the teriyaki with hapa rice (white and brown rice) and a nice green salad and bottled water. Food was cooked to order. Service with nice. Price is reasonable; $ 20 total for both our meals. Meals are served on plates or you can do take out. The view is amazing. I don’t go out to Waianae much but when I do go out (WCCHC) I will most likely stop and try other dishes — like the pork chops. It looked really good but the teriyaki sounded better today.

Looking for something in Waianae this place fit the bill. Cheap prices and a great view. If you have no sense of direction dont even bother looking for this place. If you rely on a GPS. Don’t. Be adventurous. You’ll find it I promise. Now having been paying Waikiki prices for the past week this place is was a great break. Service was quick. No lines. Food was executed nicely. And the best part was that I was the only tourist there. Like other reviews state don’t expect to get waited on. You take your food. Eat. And bring back the plates. Go ahead tip yourself when you’re done.

Simple, local, pleasing, and worth it. It’s hidden on the hill in the midst of a hospital complex, but definitely a fun find. If you’re looking for fancy you will be disappointed, but if quality of food and service matched with a breathtaking view is your desire then you will be delighted.

Went for breakfast and a kalua pork omelet for $ 8. Amazing and plenty of pork. The best views on the island. Cash only but foesnt take much of that. Nit fancy and if they gave table service i would give it 5 stars. But typical for this area. Yummmmm

Can’t go wrong with the food here. Everything they have is good. Nice ocean view. Even live entertainment on Wednesdays.

This really is a hidden gem literally. Had the catch of the day which was Sautéed ahi tuna and it was Delish. The view also is breathtaking. This is a must. Price is not bad but this more of a cafeteria style place.

One of the West sides best kept secrets! Not only do you get fantastic food for even more fantastic prices, you get to enjoy that food while looking at one heck of an ocean view. The café isn’t well advertised so you really need to be looking for it. Drive up the mountain to waianae coast comprehensive health center, there is another small driveway that continues further up the mountain, keep heading up! Eventually you’ll end up in the parking lot. Parking is fairly limited. The café closes at 2 pm so get there early! Breakfast stops at 10:30. Best dish is their Kalua pig omelette! Sooooo delicious!!! Cash only! Seating is first come first serve.

Once again, iPhone Maps lead us down a primrose path to nowhere, in search of Ka’aha’aina Café. We found the restaurant by a random sighting of a roadway sign and asking some gals by the Community Health Center where to find the café.
For the record, Ka’aha’aina is up the hill behind the Community Health Center. For a «hospital cafeteria» Ka’aha’aina is tops! Ka’aha’aina is really a rec hall with a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean.
In short, delicious food at dirt cheap prices is to be had here. JP opted for the catch of the day, which was mahi mahi. I came here planning to also order seafood, but seeing the menu board, decided to go with «chop steak» ($ 7.50). You place your order at the window, and when it is ready, they call out your dish, and you come back up to the window to pick it up.
The chop steak, accompanied by a side salad (topped with a tasty dressing) and hearty brown rice was scrumptious, enhanced by sweet grilled onions. JP’s mahi mahi also was accompanied by a salad and rice. The mahi mahi, paired with a delish garlic butter sauce was excellent.
So for a great view, great food and cheap prices, Ka’aha’aina cannot be beat.

Worth the drop-​in if you are in the Waianae area. Ka’aha’aina Café is apart of the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center and rests atop a hill overlooking the ravishing ocean. It is a nice, serene atmosphere comprised of a spacious cafeteria setting.
Their bacon cheeseburger was surprisingly delicious! And, their fries were flavored to the «T.» I was very impressed. As for the loco moco, I would rate it from «OK-​Good.» The patty tasted a little rough and the brown gravy was nothing special as well. In addition, the organic greens that it came with did not complement the loco moco at all.
Staff is friendly. Parking is plentiful. But, menu is limited.
