Bottom floor of Maili Sunset, Eli’s Kitchen has become a Hawaiian Food Hot Spot on the Leeward Coast! Parking in the front, side and back of the restaurant is plentiful — but be aware it can change each day. Nice comfortable ambience that has great works of art of the Leeward Coast with the Maili Sunset through the windows. Can’t get any better! I love their Tuesday Buffet that includes Kalua Pua’a, Squid Lu’au, Chicken Long Rice, Lomi Salmon and Rice. All of this for $ 15! Cannot go wrong when you reach your third bowl and the bowls have a cup and half worth of ‘ono food! I get a two pieces of their Haupia to go with the Koele, bomb dessert! I have yet to eat their Laulau! lol, it always runs out — which is good and bad. Bad, because I haven’t eaten it but good because it’s that good! From what I heard. Definitely a place to stop when you’re craving for Hawaiian food and you don’t want to drive far.

If you want delicious and cheap hawaiian food THIS is the place. The portions were good and the taste… OMG the taste is sooo good. If you are there try the koelepalau. Its delicious. Everyone was soo friendly as well in there. They answered all our questions and also helped us in picking different options. Delicious food and excellent service. We are actually catering from them for our sons party. And even with that they were soo helpful. Im just glad the west side has a hawaiian food place that doesnt cost an arm and a leg. Lol!

One thing I have to say about Hawaiian food, it isn’t exactly cheap. It’s probably why, I rarely eat it. I’ve heard about this place from a friend who lives not far from this place. She said it was the best Hawaiian food she’s eaten. I rarely ever come to the West Side of the island, but yesterday I happened to be in the area. Every Tuesday they have All You Can Eat Special for $ 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. So a friend and I both ordered the special. The waitress was friendly and took our order. She helped us since it was our first time here. The food came pretty quickly and she refilled our water often since we were thirsty. The Hawaiian food was excellent! The Kalua pork was very good and full of flavor. Tried the Squid Luau, I haven’t really eaten it many times before and depending where u go it tastes different. It was good to me, but it’s on more on the sweet side vs savory. The chicken long rice was really ono as well. We tried the Sweet Potato dessert, which was also yummy. I’ve had Haupia and wanted to try something different. Sampled a piece of pipikaula, which is the wet version vs the dry one. It was yummy as well! The portions were very good and well… I’m going to admit, I can’t really do the whole All You Can Eat experience. I will say, unless you can seriously put away the food, it’s probably better to order the other combos. I’ve already told others about this place. The food for their prices can’t be beat! I’ll definitely return, but I’ll probably stick to a combo and a side of pipikaula vs all you can eat.

So I called and put a phone order in minus 1 star she told me to hold on and put the phone Down I still could hear her conversation with somebody else how rude!!! Ordered the Luau combo plate portions were alright for the price I paid asked for stew gravy on the side didn’t get it minus 1 star. Pipkaula was 12 Bucks for a 15oz portion sized chopped up steak wasn’t what I expected didn’t enjoy it spent $ 27 total better luck next time

First off, I love Eli’s! They seriously have some of the best hawaiian foods I’ve ever tasted. It’s a small, very casual place. Perfect for a quick brunch. Every time we come here, we are greeted by this one girl with lots of tattoos(I never got her name). This worker isn’t really friendly. She is never smiling, and I always tell her«hi» before she even greets me. Not a very great first impression on a restaurant. Especially because she’s pretty much always the first person we see. The last time we went here, we waited about ten minutes at our table before she could greet us. She finally came out, took our order, and went back inside. We waited Almost 20 mins for our food and not once did she come outside to check on us. But nevertheless, every other worker that comes out and serves us are always full of life with big smiles. Making sure everything is ok. They make things a little easier. The food is great and it’s also close to home. A little pricey, though. Me & my other half go here and spend about $ 35 average just for the both of us. But it’s worth it! Having one bad apple isn’t a deal breaker to stop coming all together, but hopefully the next time we go we wouldn’t feel so uncomfortable in the beginning.

Love eating here! On Tuesdays they offer an all u can eat menu for $ 15! On Wednesdays, kids eat free & on Thursdays, na kapuna(60+years) can choose one of 2 meal selections FREE. If you want a quick meal on the go, get a special 2 scoops rice and pig bowl for just $ 5 if purchased before 3p.m. Can’t make it there early, you can still order it as takeout only for just $ 6.75 :)

Tried the luau plate which consisted of poi, laulau, kalua pig, lomi salmon, long rice, squid luau, and haupia. Super friendly Aunty at the front also told us that their pipikaula was one of the best on the island and is what people always come back for. Being that we rarely venture out to the west side because of various reasons, I decided to get an extra order of this famous pipikaula and squid luau because we were starving. Long story short, squid luau was too sweet for my liking and had only a few pieces of squid. The pipikaula tasted like over cooked Kalbi left sitting in oil. The long rice was very gingery and tasted like it was sitting in a pot for a while– understandable I guess bc I don’t expect them to cook a fresh batch every time. The lomi tomato had no salmon. The best part about this meal was finding out how Ono Hawaiian food is in town! Had good vibes trying this place out. The people were super inviting and welcoming, but too bad the food was disappointing.

Food is good. Will come again. Only thing I thought the squid luau was a little to sweet for my taste. Everything else was good. Especially since it’s close to home which makes it even better.

Our first introduction to Hawaiian cuisine and it really set the bar pretty high for us going forward. Eli’s is a very casual, unassuming spot, but packed with deliciousness once you set forth to eat. When we arrived they were doing some renovating to the interior so we had to dine outside, which was not a problem at all since it’s always beautiful in Hawaii! We informed the incredibly nice gal behind the counter that it was our first time trying Hawaiian eats so she very graciously guided us through the menu and helped us select a nice spread of dishes. Ultimately my husband and I each selected the«Aha’Aina» combo which each came with rice or poi(my husband did one, I did the other), kalua pork or laulau(one of each), and bowls of the chicken long rice(chicken pieces served with thin, cellophane noodles, and a bit of broth), squid lu’au(squid and taro leaves braised in coconut leaves until tender), lomi salmon(tomato and salmon salad) and haupia(coconut cream pudding with a jello-like, firm consistency) for dessert. And since she told us another popular dish is the pipikaula(jerked beef) we through in a bowl of that a la cart. Admittedly the food is not exactly photogenic. Most of it looks fairly soupy with a muted color pallet(browns, dark greens, beiges, etc) but what it lacks in a colorful pop it makes up for in flavor. Out of the pork dishes my favorite was the kalua although the laulau(pork cooked in taro root leaves) had a nice bitterness thanks to the greens. The chicken long rice was another favorite dish of mine and I love love LOVED the pipikaula. It was my first time trying poi and it was a bit of an acquired taste but once I began treating it like the side of rice and started pairing it with the other dishes I came to like it a lot. Prices are amazing, especially for the amount of food! We walked out of there paying around $ 25 for the two of us, making it the cheapest(and most filling/fulfilling!) meal we had on either Oahu or Maui. I left so impressed by not only the food but the really friendly staff, and the chill vibes. While on this trip I learned the word«ono» and the food at Eli’s defines it! SOONO! SODELICIOUS!

Delicious Hawaiian food & great service. We were offered samples of 4 of their specialties & decided on 3 small bowls for lunch. The Lu’au He’e(Squid Lu’au) was the most unique & surprisingly sweet. We loved both desserts, as well. Highly recommended for anyone visiting to have an authentic taste of Hawaii!

We had a great meal here… The service was truly with aloha and the food was SOOONO!!! The portions are just right and each of the dishes tasted amazing. The food is ready quick and fresh– and we enjoyed the atmosphere too. If you want Hawaiian, it’s totally worth the trek out to Waianae to get some!

I ordered the meal that came with chicken long rice, lau lau, squid luau, poi and lomi salmon. It was pretty good and hit the spot. They also have Kauai Kulolo! I would eat here again. The food is good enough to satisfy when you want a nice spread without having to cook it yourself. The staff was friendly too!

At Eli’s kitchen, post in front of you just as you enter is a sign that say’s: If you don’t like the food«NO» complain because some else does and our staff is here to serve you but don’t treat them like slaves. I love the benefits of being 1) a small business and 2) being self employed. Eli I really enjoyed the way you serve your food, family style. so today for your honesty, service and food, you are either a hero or a zero, I call you a hero. Thanks for the wonderful experience and the diet coke.

So happy that there’s finally a place that serves Hawaiian food on the leeward coast! Not to mention ono loa! Just when I thought Hwy Inn was my favorite… I got to try Eli’s. First time I actually tried it, my dad did a phone order. I ate the pipi kū, and at first I thought it was ok just kinda gingery. Then I found myself CRAVING it weeks later. So I went in myself and ordered takeout. I got a small pipi kū, small pipi kaula, and poi. OMG so pipi kaula is my favorite thing in the world, and Eli’s is up there as one of my favorites for pipi kaula. Lol. Idk who I was kidding getting the small size. The next time I went, I brought two of my friends. They got combo plates and I stuck with ordering a la carte. Our waitress was friendly and our water was never empty. When the food came, my friends were surprised with how much food there actually was. But one of them did make a comment about how small the laulau and serving of poi was. I stopped by this past week cause I was craving the stew and pipi kaula again, but they are closed till April. I just wish they were open all week because I’m in Waianae every Tuesday. I don’t think the location is the best. Not many businesses thrive there. Most customers hear about it either from the coconut wireless or social media… It’s below Maili Sunset Bar&Grill. Hardly anyone goes there. But I hope business remains good for them because I wanna keep going there.

I always come to eat, food is just as good as my first visit. Although, I came last night & had the worst customer service ever! I checked in at 7:30 pm & I could tell she seemed irritable by the look on her face. By 7:36 pm we placed our order & right after ordering she says«You should order whatever you want right now bc we closing the kitchen» felt like we were being rushed & besides the sign clearly says Eli’s Kitchen closes at 8:00 pm. Shortly after about 7:45 a guy came in to dine in & she came marching out«Ohhhh we close already» in a disrespectful manner. What I’m trying to get across is that I’ve worked for many fast food joints & we don’t ever deny a customer! The business is making money & you can’t make money if your workers are turning down customers before the closing time. Neither is there a sign that says kitchen closes early. I’m a regular customer & I always get treated just as good as everyone else but last night was Outta control butttttt I STILLLOVETHEFOOD& will continue to come

Food is puuuuuuuuuurfect– especially if your looking to be knocked out by 7:00pm…The waitress was awesomeness. She had lots of Aloha– checked up on us periodically!!– If you’re looking to eat onolicious Hawaiian food, cooked by actual Hawaiians, served with ALOHA — you gotta come here… PROMISE you won’t regret it, the only thing you’ll probably regret is not remembering to pack your pillow for the ride back home… lol– Enjoy!

If you’ve ever moved away from the islands, one of the first things you start to miss besides family and friends is good Hawaiian food. Let’s face it; our food is our home. Upon walking into Eli’s Kitchen, there’s a feeling and comfort that embraces you and gives you the sense of, «I’m home.» The staff is not just friendly. They too feel like the family you once left behind and are so happy to see again. The owners talk to you like they’ve known you all your life. Beware tho, because with quick familiarity you might just end up babysitting one or all of their beautiful daughters. That’s how comfortable the environment is! The food is the best Hawaiian food to experience on the island. Its all your favorites in one spot. One could pay an arm & leg at Highway Inn OR you could pay a reasonable price for ono flavorful food. Eli’s Kitchen also has my favorite Pastele Stew! Yes, they offer more than Hawaiian food! So take the drive out west, watch the sunset, eat at Eli’s Kitchen. You won’t be disappointed.
