I really enjoy going out to breweries and distilleries so when I found out this was here we had to go and try it. We were not disappointed. We paid $ 5 – 6 for the moonshine/vodka tasting. You get to pick out about 6 different drinks you want to try. They also tell you different ways you can mix it to make it taste better. They have popcorn on the tables for you and it tastes really good. We have been here a few times and each time we have fun. I like to bring family/friends who are visiting so they get to taste the local shine. The only thing I didn’t like about this place was the parking. Sometimes its like an obstacle just to find a spot.

«Drink the wine before you shine» would become words my group would learn to live by at the end of the day. After touring the yard around the vines, we embarked upon Firefly Distillery. Pro Tip: The last tasting starts at 4:30P so get there in time to get your official sample on! I was there with a group of six and we were treated so well by the two ladies there. They explained the tasting process which is ONLY $ 6! You’ll receive a sheet and will be asked to select which ones you’d like to sample. During the tasting journey we were given suggestions on other spirits to mix together to create cocktails on our own. At the end we all took something home! I selected the lemon vodka and red velvet cake. I wish I could buy Firefly in Ohio. It’s definitely a brand I would love to constantly stock in my home.

We were visiting from OH-IO! Had a wonderful time with Charlotte at the helm of the bar! She knows her product and made our visit enjoyable! We left with a trunk full of «goodies»! They have popcorn and water(use both you will need). You need the popcorn to line your stomach! What a wonderful time we had today and will return if back in the area! A must stop for anyone that enjoys a good drink and a good time ! Thanks for the memories !

$ 6 and lots of tasting! The bartenders are fantastic and the selection is delicious. Loved the lemonade vodka and apple pie moonshine. There was a food truck out front and lots of outdoor tables to hang out.

I enjoyed the moonshine tasting. They had a large selection of samplings. This was my second time visiting. Last years tasting had a much better flow to it. The lady leading ours was going to fast and was kinda rude to the folks that could not keep up with her pace. The place was not packed but we were shoulder to shoulder around the bars. I liked that they gave you the shot glass to take home.

This place was pretty interesting. It’s $ 6 a tasting and you definitely get your money worth in drinks so don’t come on an empty stomach! Just a little heads up there is such a large variety of different alcohols and they are constantly using the liquor as mixers to make different drinks so it can be a bit overwhelming. We were a bit disappointed that tours are only offered select times on Friday as it would have been cool to see the place. They have a nice set up and even have a corn hole set outside to play.

If you’re a local — get the frequent flyer card!!! This is a great way to spend an afternoon on a nice day. We’ve gone 3x during the week, and once on a Saturday. The bartenders are great no matter what, but on the weekend you also get food trucks! It’s $ 6.00pp and you get to pick 7 different liquors. They even have you mix some together to give you drink ideas. You’ve got tot try the lemonade vodka! IT’S ONLYSOLDTHERE! There’s popcorn to line your stomach and water as well. If you don’t like the liquor you can pour it in the bucket on the bar and grab some water from a pitcher. Takes about 30 minutes to finish tasting and then you can buy whatever you want from the distillery. You also get to take home the Firefly shotglass you tasted in! It’s 20 feet from a winery who also has tastings. The two buildings share a parking lot. Between the two theres rocking chairs, cornhole, and a small picnic area. Go to the distillery, then head next door and grab a couple Wine-A-Ritas, some food off the truck and have lunch. It’s seriously a great date!(hint: ask to layer the wine-a-ritas with the pink and dark purple flavors. You’ll be happy you did!)

What a FUN place!!! We booked a girls weekend in Edisto & drove over to the distillery! We had a blast! Be sure to request Wanda as your bartender — she made it fun & hilarious! Hint. don’t spend too much time picking out the 6 you want to taste!

Very cool, I’ve been many times over the years. It started out as just a cool place to do wine tastings, but then they added the vodka about 10 years ago. If you’re in Charleston and can’t find something to do, which is odd, go check this out. Really friendly people, and lots of neat animals hanging around too.

Charming and desolate, tucked away and very much worth the drive. We had a blast meeting new friends with our friends. Leave your pretense at the door. I enjoyed most everything they poured at the tasting. Pick 6 and you get a tiny taste of each, even mix it up to create something new. The chickens are glorious, too. Go check out the garden and enjoy the warm blanket spread across your mind.

A friend flew into town for the week, so we played tourist together and hit up the distillery. It’s definitely a bit of a drive — about 25 minutes from West Ashley — but it’s absolutely worth it. You HAVETO make sure you get Wanda at the Firefly tasting! She was engaging, hilarious, and made the whole room laugh throughout the tasting. She was very generous with the pours, and gave great advice about mixing things up. I would go back just to hang out with her! We also hit up the wine tastings, bought some slushy wine coolers in the gift shop, played some cornhole, and walked around to check out the animals. It was a great way to spend a beautiful afternoon, and I’d definitely recommend a visit. Don’t forget to ask for Wanda!

If you’re around Charleston looking for a little something different to do, I definitely recommend visiting the firefly distillery. It’s a little far away, but the drive there is so pretty. I know they’re about to change the location. But the current location is pretty awesome. You are able to walk around to see the animals while waiting for your tour to start. When you pull up, you go to the station and buy your tasting. It’s a pretty great deal, $ 6 for a shot glass and 6 firefly tastings. It’s a lot of fun, but kind of intense. Once your tasting time starts you line up at the bar and check off 6 firefly product from a list. You are able to try several flavored of vodka, moonshine, whiskey, liqueurs and rum. The popcorn is my favorite part of the tasting, but the lemonade flavor vodka is my favorite thing I’ve tasted. Have fun at the distillery!

We did the distillery tasting during our recent visit to Charleston. Now, it is far far away on Wadmalaw Island, so be prepared for a drive if you’re coming from downtown. The distillery tasting is much better than the wine tasting. And we had an amazing server. Technically, you are suppose to choose 6 things to taste, but she was great with giving us ideas of what to mix with what. I personally think the lemonade Vodka is amazing. You can only get it at the distillery, which is a shame bc I would buy that all the time if it was in the liquor stores. The moonshines are strong but doable. The entire tasting is just $ 6(the wine tasting is $ 5).

Y’all…go to this distillery! That’s all I want to say, but I will give more. It has a rustic charm that is backwoods South Carolina but not the sketchy kind. You can choose what you want to taste so if you go with a group, try different kinds do you can try more! I liked the lemonade vodka the most. They only sell it at the distillery because it is made with all natural ingredients, so pick up a bottle or two! I am not to big on moonshine but theirs was delicious and I would enjoy it in a cocktail. On the weekends they have a food truck and music so they encourage you to hang out. Next door is a winery but we did not visit as the distillery was our go to!

We had a nice time a firefly. We did the tasting and were pleasantly surprised by how good many of their products are. I’ve had firefly sweet tea before. It’s dreadful stuff. However, their lemon vodka abs varieties of moonshine were quite good. Worth a stop if you’re in the mood for distilled items. Firefly distillery is located near the Charleston tea plantation and the angel oak, so it’s worth going to all three.

This place is a mandatory stop for all of our out of town or new to town friends and family. One of the rare places where it’s super kid and super adult friendly. Great for groups, too. Try to take it easy in the tasting room, because it’s pretty easy to get lit up!

My friends and I were in town for a wedding and looking for something to do on one of the days when we had some time to kill. We headed here on what ended up being Halloween. They had a little 3 piece band/singer playing outside. We did both the wine tasting for $ 5 and the $ 6 distillery tasting. I was not impressed with the wine tasting. All of their wines are made with muscadine grapes — which is not my favorite. All of the wines are very sweet. They remind me of wines you drink when you first start drinking. The distillery tasting was better. Our server was very nice. But he was on the quiet side and softspoken. He was very knowledgeable but you had to kind of pull it out of him. There was another woman working there that was quite rude. She just seemed bothered to be there and impatient with patrons. If you’re dealing with people who basically drinking you should know that you’re going to have to be patient with people. Overall, it was a nice way to spend an afternoon. However, I don’t think that I would ever do it again. I was happy to get a free koozie when I checked in on Unilocal

I visited here last year on my vacation to Charleston, which is what brought me back this year. Last year we went during the week so it wasn’t busy at all. We had one bartender to ourself and were able to have one-on-one conversations. This year we went on a Saturday when they had a lot more going on, which meant a ton more people. We were at a bar with 14 or so other people and one bartender and it was equally as great of an experience! Our bartender was knowledgable about every single product and seemed to have as much fun serving us as we had fun sampling. Everything was unbelievable! I loved the lemonade vodka with the blackberry moonshine together and the apple pie and caramel moonshines together. You can’t beat the price for the experience either $ 6 for 6 samples and a souvenir shot glass! Should you wish to purchase any bottles, they are $ 20 each which may sound steep, but it is well worth it. I HIGHLY recommend visiting whether you are a local or a tourist!

We brought a few of our friends from up North for a trip down South so we had to check out Firefly since we were in Charleston. It is located about 35 minutes or so west of Charleston but worth checking out. They have tastings for $ 6 which allows you to choose 6 different flavors of liquor as well as keep your personal shot glass. You buy your ticket from the table located outside the tasting room and then wait in line outside the room as it is first come first serve. Inside the room, they have multiple bars setup for the tastings with groups about 10 – 15 people at each bar. They give you a list of all the flavors that you can try that include vodka, whiskey, moonshine, liquers, and others. There also a few seasonal flavors that you can taste that are not listed but they will tell you about them. In the end, we got about 8 different tastings but tried so many different flavors since we shared between ourselves. There is also water and popcorn for you to eat/drink to act as chasers/cleansers in between samples. The«bartenders» are very interactive and will give you a wonderful experience regardless of your drinking background. At the end, you can purchase any of the flavors that you had sampled for $ 20 each. Fun experience and you definitely get your money’s worth!

What a great spot! Definitely worth the 15 – 20 minute drive outside of Charleston. You basically have to keep driving and keep driving and keep driving on a small road until you think you can’t drive any further, and then it’s a small sign for FireFly Distillery(co-located with a winery) on the left. Don’t worry if you miss it — lots of people do and then pull a U-turn in the next driveway. So there isn’t really so much of a parking lot as there is a forest with trees that you park between :) Then you can make your way to the tasting rooms — the winery is on the right and the distillery is on the left. You can taste 5 – 7 of each. The winery also has a very entertaining short film that you’ll watch when you taste the wines. The distillery is a bit bigger and there are ~20 different types of bottles you can buy(each $ 20). Our Firefly tasting woman’s name was Wanda and she was a hoot! She said«I know you guys drove past many bars and other places that offer drinks in order to come here and have a drink with me. So I’m going to make it worth your while!» And boy did she! Between her smile, her humor, and her amazing personality — I had one of the best tasting experiences ever! We went home with two bottles: mint and sweet tea. We even lucked out and walked into an oyster/music festival the first weekend in February. There were live bands, food, picnic areas, and an outdoor bar. It made the experience THAT much better. If I’m ever in the area again, it’s definitely on my to-do list again!
