I’ve been getting my son his glasses at BJ’s every year for the past few years now, and even bought my own pair here last year during the trunk sale, when they have more famous name-brand options available to choose from. You can’t beat the prices(well, I haven’t shopped online for glasses because I want to feel and touch them and buy them if I like them). They often have great sales and when they do, for under $ 200 you can get a nice pair of frames(he chose Kenneth Cole Reaction two years in a row) with anti-glare/anti-reflection coating and thinner lenses if your prescription isn’t too strong. The selection is limited but if you can find something you like, it’s at least half the price you’d pay at Lenscrafters or your eye doctor’s office. Most frames are only available in the size that is displayed, so if you fall in love with something that’s just too small for you it’s a little upsetting, but it’s how they keep the prices so low. The optician that helped us out was pleasant, helpful, entertaining(liked to joke), thorough(updated address and email, confirmed phone #) and even ran through a list of possible ways I could get discounts to see if any of them applied to me! It was a great experience and I’d definitely recommend at least looking here before deciding to spend at least twice as much elsewhere. Oh, I almost forgot, for under $ 200 we ALSO purchased an eyewear protection plan for a year. You can’t beat it! And, there are additional discounts if the child is 16 or less. :) Even with the limited selection, if I could just order frames in other sizes, I’d bump it up to 5 stars, it’s very close.
