Initial meeting with Mike Kish went well and we felt good about choosing him as our contractor to take out our front yard lawn/​bushes and put in succulents/​rock and also to clean up a slope in backyard and plant water tolerant plants with some new rock in beds. He worked with us in plant selection, we even visited his nursery to show what types of succulents/​plants we liked. They started the job on time and as it progressed we could see organization was not a strength in his operation. One day they never show up, no call/​text or email as to why. We were a customer just like any other customer/​job he was working with and that was just not good business. In the end, we like our yard even though we were shorted a few plants and some rock was over ordered and some under ordered. Not knowing how much some of the plants were or rock, have marked price moderate but I’m thinking it was more towards pricey. Believe if you’re looking for more nursery plants (not xeriscape) Mike might be the one for you.

How do I give 0 star?
I had a groupon for this place. Couldn’t redeem on my first visit because the plants I wanted were on sale. There was no mention of that limitation on the groupon but alright, I figured I’d use it some other time. Their business hours are very limited: they close at 4 pm and are closed on Sunday. Makes it hard to shop there if you work. I live 50 miles away so I made sure I called before driving up on a week day (holiday) to make sure they were open. They said they were open until 4 pm. I told them I was driving up. Got there at 3:30 to find a closed gate: Sorry we’re closed. Are you kidding me? I wasted 2.5 hours /​100 miles of driving in traffic for nothing. That’s beyond bad customer service. That’s no way to run a business.

Up and Coming Nursery
Green Acres offers great prices and a friendly staff. They will only get better as they grow. They currently offer a good selection of plants in different sizes. As soon as they add a native plant selection and some more fruit trees they will be unstoppable. Thank you!

My girlfriend first found this place on Craigslist, and went because they had a sale on roses ($ 5 for 3 gallon). And the day before valentines, that’s just good timing.
Heather, one of the employees, greeted us as we drove up, and immediately took us to their huge selection of rosebushes. She was knowledgeable, helpful and even fun to walk around with. She told us about rose care, other types of plants, and helped us find the best specimens. We also got a big lavender bush, dirt cheap.
Heather helped us find four quite large roses plus a few more plants, and we ended up paying $ 53 for what would easily have cost us $ 200 at other stores.
They also have services for garden design starting at just $ 250, which I think we’ll try later in the year. Yes, definitely coming back, and thanks Heater !
