I actually grew up on mainland Japan from when I was 10 – 20. I’ve searched a lot of different Asian spots trying to find authentic Japanese food. This place is it. And luckily, it’s right across the street from my work. I started simple and got shrimp fried rice and the sashimi salad. Oishi!!! The fried rice is exactly like back home and the sashimi was fresh and delicious with an authentic sesame undertone. Everything was just as I hoped it would be and I’ll be coming more often to try their nigiri, tempura, and udon.

760 is close to home so we frequent the spot. Food good, service is good and the local beer selection is grest. They have food for all so if your kids don’t eat sushi it’s not a problem. They have some good prices. I would suggest this restaurant to friends

I want to really give this place a higher rating because the food is awesome, the prices are awesome but the slooooooow service makes you want to rip out your hair in so much frustration that’s it comes close to ruining dinner. But I guess that’s what you get when you have 1 girl working as hostess and waitress for the ENTIRE restaurant. That and only one person in the kitchen!!! Are you kidding me?!? All in all if you are in the mood for a 3 hour dining experience them you found your place. Hopefully the owner gets a clue about running a restaurant someday; because with the amount of sushi places around the area, people will get tired of the poor service very soon.

The service was painfully slow when we went. It was one server working 3 tables at bets, including mine. Nice variety of craft beers, although they were out of several of them. Sushi/rolls were okay. Prefer Teri.

I would hassle to come over here. First off the service is not good. Second, I don’t know if we came on a wrong day that all the food seems not fresh or the food really here is really not good. We ordered rice for the kids but they gave us spoiled rice. I can smell it. So I had to ask them to change it to noodles instead. She gave me yakisoba which was beyond terrible.

Went there on a Saturday at Noon for lunch. Nice lunch specials. Pork cutlets came with soup, salad, rice, and cut rolls $ 7.95. Generous portions. The food was very good and the prices were very reasonable. Service hard to comment on because we were only one of two tables with customers. Our service was fine that day. Definitely will go again and see what happens on a busier day.

Always happy when I’m here. I’m a regular along with my girlfriends and we are always eating great for a reasonable price! Love the waitress Uka.

I love their sushi so fresh. I love the Hawaiian roll and the oysters. Spicy miso is pretty good. Pretty chill spot not so noisy, and the music selections are pretty good.

I love this place. It is a little hard to find, but the sushi is so good and reasonably priced. I’ve eaten here several times and have had both really good service and really good food. If you order a to go item, I recommend that you call ahead or be prepared to wait a little. But believe me, it’s totally worth it. The prices are low and the selection of local microbrewery beers(as well as some foreign ones) is phenomenal. Definitely worth trying.

Leaving without ordering. Waited 20 minutes in line before getting someone to take a to go order. Was told a 1 hour wait for takeout for 2 people. While the sushi is great, the repeated reviews on slow service are on point. Go on a weeknight or midday weekend and it’s not too bad but the service is atrocious during peak times. It’s great that their business is picking up but you can’t staff a restaurant designed to hold 50+ people and accommodate takeout and have only 1 server and 1 chef!

I love my sushi, im picky about my sushi. A few co-workers have tried this place Bistro 760 in Vista. Today was my turn. I walked in and was told by who I assume was the chef that the waitress/hostess was in the bathroom and would be right with me. The store was empty with the exception of myself and the 2 staff. The environment was nice once you get past the reception area. I ordered a spicy salmon roll, rainbow roll, jalapeño with cream cheese appitizer, shrimp tempura hand roll and nigiri salmon and nigiri tuna. The jalapeño cream cheese appetizer was alright, the nigiri tuna and salmon were good beefy cuts with a dab of fake wasabi to in theory hold the cut of fish to the rice and give it a little kick. It was good, tasted good, looked good. The shrimp tempura hamd roll also was good although it seemed the shrimp tempura was fried a bit longer than what im used to but I enjoyed the crunch of the longer fried shrimp. I only got to taste to pieces of the spricy salmon roll, it was typical but good, I wasnt able to tey the rainbow roll because I had to get to work but my co workers said it was good. I’ll be back to try more rolls.

We started with the Mix Tempura, it was a very generous serving and had a good variety of fresh veggies and yummy shrimp. We decided to give the Rainbow Capricco a try… the sashimi was as impressive as the presentation(see photo). We also had the Sashimi Salad which was loaded with yummy salmon, tuna, and what we think was yellowtail? Whatever it was it was delicious! The Spider roll was good, but it was wrapped in seaweed paper not soy, as the menu described. My daughter ordered the Vista Roll minus the Salmon(she’s allergic) and it was also delicious. The service was outstanding! Our waitress was very attentive, although I think she only had 1 other customer? She was super sweet and all smiles we will be back!

For starters, the atmosphere is quaint and comfortable. Business seemed to be good as most of the tables were full. This was a good sign… and then we sat down. It took at least 10 minutes to get a drink order in, I noticed that there were only three women working the front… serving, hosting, AND taking care of cash. My boyfriend had to remind the waitress twice about getting an extra set of chopsticks and it took a decent amount of time to get the waitress’ attention to put our food order in. The food tasted very good, but the timing was ridiculously slow. Our appetizers came waaaaay after our salads, which took 15 minutes alone to make, and we were later informed that the kitchen was incredibly backed up. Overall the food was pretty good, but the service is awful. So if you are looking for a place to just sit and chat for an 1.5 hours, wondering where your food is, this is the place for you!!!

Just tried this local Vista sushi place for the first time tonight. The sushi rolls, seaweed salad and edamame were tasty but my mom got the shashimi and says it was a little thicker than she likes. The ambience and décor are great but there were probably only 4 other parties there. We asked one of the servers how long they had been open but she said she was new and didn’t know… Not sure if this place will make it but I hope they do!

«Bistro Stake.» Let me be clear: I judge people based on their spelling. The fact that«steak» is spelled wrong in the menu struck me as a warning sign. But it wasn’t just that. Some of the dishes come with«mustered.» Several of the beer names written in chalk on the wall were also misspelled. «Red Trolly.» «Hafeweizen.» And this clearly isn’t an authentic hole-in-the-wall on Convoy where you might tolerate such mediocre spelling; this is a place that is clearly supposed to be classy judging by the layout and interior design.(For what it’s worth, I now notice that they also spell«sashimi» wrong on the online menu at least once as well. As I tell my writing students, red squiggles mean something. Don’t just ignore them, but don’t depend on them either.) Honestly, I expect more from a place that calls itself a «bistro» and labels its cuisine«French-Japanese.» And I think that’s my biggest problem with Bistro 760: they misrepresent themselves. There’s a lobster in the logo. Where is there lobster anything on the menu? Nowhere. I checked. And what’s actually French in the menu? The ceviche? The burger? The American wines? The craft beer? The reggae being played on the sound system? At least the word«bistro» is of French origin. As is the crème brulée tucked on the back page in the dessert section. So there’s that. Ok, I’m mostly done with my rant. How is the actual food? Hopefully, you can tell from the above that this is basically a Japanese place with a smattering of non-Japanese dishes and which caters to a non-Japanese crowd. And it’s a very sub-par Japanese place. The breading on the tempura was bland and oily. The curry was also bland, and the beef inside was dry and not very tender. All of this is to say, this is not a place that convinced me that it cared either about its presentation or its food. This may be the meanest review I’ve ever written, but that’s how far the reality didn’t meet the expectation that was set up by the name. Summary: Man, oh man, I hope my spelling is perfect in this review.

Stopped by to grab a quick dinner before heading back to LA. Good luck finding Bistro 760 as it is not located in the main strip mall. You’ll have to go down the small street off Vista Way(it’s on the side). Bistro 760 has decent Japanese food. The ramen is pretty good, the sushi is decent and the teriyaki chicken and shrimp tempura as well. They have a few specialty rolls and one of my favorites that night was the Cali crunch roll(I think it was created by sushi chef King). The fish sizes were pretty big as well. There are a lot of beers on tap, the restaurant itself is pretty clean, accommodating and pleasant. Prices are affordable… score! Stop on in, the waitress was cool and King(the sushi chef) even came out to check on us. They were cool! I’d stop by Bistro 760 again…

As soon as I left Bistro 760, I was left with just«ugh!» While browsing for a place to eat following Boomer’s mini golf, this place initially caught my eye, because it was listed as Japanese and French! I thought how cool, this sounds like a unique dinning experience! Upon arrival, I should have known better. The numerous spelling errors on the menu and walls was a sure sign of disappointment. For our appetizer, the veggie tempura was rather band and extremely oily.(Yes, I understand that it’s fried, BUT there shouldn’t be a grand sheen oil to the tempura.) For my entrée, I wanted to try something that was unique to the menu. Yes, they have usual curry, udon, and teriyaka, but I tried the chicken coconut curry kabobs with french fries. The coconut curry sauce was overly peppered. I felt like I was eating peppered chicken, NOT coconut curry.(They were also quite a bit smaller than the menu pictured.) I’m not quite sure how this happened, but even the french fries were were a major fail. They were cold and lacked salt. To top it off, the ketchup tasted like it was infused with whisky or some kind of alcohol. I know that sounds ridiculous, so I’m citing that the ketchup was old. Bottom line: I would not recommend to anyone.
