So I’d heard they make good quick sandwiches here so thought I’d try one. Uh, no big deal. Seriously, not that great. Back east they had Blimpie’s and I thought they used a lot of lettuce. Well, Jimmy John’s uses a bunch of lettuce on their sandwiches. Maybe to disguise the fact that there’s not much meat in between the weird crusty bread they use. Anyhow, if they were the only sandwich shop in town I’d keep looking. There were two kids(ok employees) in the empty store. Not the most welcoming greeting from either of them considering the place was empty. I felt like I was interrupting their day. The sandwich was made in less than 5 mins and was placed on the counter in its wrapper. No bag or napkins so I grabbed my own bag. Won’t be back. These owners don’t realize these kids they hire are lazy and unmotivated and are the down fall of their business. I’ll never go back and they ruined the reputation of Jimmy Johns. Visalia children need to wake up. This was my second experience today with the rude and lazy restaurant employees of Visalia. Is it an epidemic in this town? You’ll never get past working at a fast food restaurant with your attitudes.

Had a meeting and they had brought sandwiches from here and I remember thinking… I have got to try this place again. Well I had the opportunity to do that yesterday. I have to say that I don’t feel the need to go back. I ordered a #17…I think the menu even says how good it is. First off it took about as long as a restaurant to get our sandwiches and I felt like it was a lot of bread and not a lot of filling. I know sandwiches can vary from maker to maker but if this is how the owner has them making sandwiches then they need to rethink what they are doing. Like I said… the lunch sandwich was amazing… full of meat. But the sandwich I had(not saying that they don’t have other better sandwiches) with my family was not a sandwich that would make me return. If you are going to place a sandwich on the menu and say it has double meat… I expect it to be a sandwich that has double the meat. Needless to say I left disappointed.

I’m sorry; I am not willing to sacrifice quality and variety –for speed. It’s not a fair trade off to me. I have never tried Jimmy John’s before today. And I will never go back, or even order them for that matter. Apparently, the speed in which they prepare your sandwich is the ONLY real plug they have. I can’t even get regular mustard on my sandwich? Really? «Oh, sir, we’re all about speed here, and we can give you packets.» No thanks, guys, I’ll take Subway or Port of Subs any day.

I see that it has been a while since I last posted but I felt I had to revise the rating to 5 stars, my family is never disappointed with their meal when we visit, I’d also like to add that their store(bathroom) is always super clean.

I love the food here, but… I called for delivery and they said they won’t go out of their service area. I was a little frustrated, but I understood. The only problem is that my office is across the street from the courthouse and I see deliveries all day long going there…

Liked this place. Great quality ingredients, nice service people and a super clean and modern environment. Our 1st visit to a JJ’s, the menu had to be explained, and recited like it was part of a JJ corporate training. Looking forward to a visit to a JJ’s nearer me, cos Its a long drive to Visalia for a sammie.

Good sandwichs, good service. Ordered my sandwich online and it was ready to go 10 mins later when I got there. Tremendous.

Food is good. But service is rude and downright pathetic. I asked for package mustard and the guy behind the counter literally threw it at me. Just because I complained that my sandwich at onions on it when I ordered it without. Will not be going back.

The best roast beef sandwich around. Friendly staff, good food, and fast. For fast food it’s hard to beat.

Food is okay for a sandwich shop. The problem is the continuity of their service. One day they deliver to an address and 3 days later they don’t. Hard to plan on getting lunch here from work when you have no idea if they will deliver or not. Manager rude on the phone. Poor customer service skills. Take your business somewhere else. This too, was blamed on corporate police. Evidently the corporate policy changes day to day.

Went in last Sunday to buy dinner for my family, but was told I could not get the sandwiches the way everyone wanted because of some vague corporate policy. Last time I checked, the point of being in business is to make money… not argue with customers and turn them away. FAIL.

Wow. Extremely dissappointed. I went in for a 7 sandwich order and was turned down because apparently the glasses wearing skinny shit workin this shift said corporate doesnt allow them to put things on the side. We dont live in Central CA. We stop in Clovis when we head north and back down and have never had this problem with stuff on the side. I suspect these people were lazy and didnt want to do the work. Extremely disappointed to say the least. Last time I go there. Not to mention was treated like a hostile customer. Me. A VETERAN. Horrible. Reported the horrible customer service to corporate. Went here sunday November 17th2013 at 5:05. Fire the skinny twerp! Never been treated so poorly in my life!!! BTW there was no one else in the shop. I was the only customer. They kissed 70 bucks goodbye. I went out of my way to get there too.

I work downtown and very frequently not get time to go to lunch. So, as embarrassing as it is, I usually get Jimmy Johns twice a week. The delivery guys are always great, and the food is usually excellent. I’m docking a star only because of the rare occasion my order is not right(and the one time the bread was stale). Sometimes they ignore my customization like«cut bread in half» or «no tomato, easy mayo». Once or twice they’ve forgotten my drink. BUT, considering I’ve been getting delivery from here on average twice a week for almost a year, there are bound to be occasional mix ups. It happens. Thanks JJ!

Bad customer service. Clean restaurant. Food was great, especially their Chocolate Chip Cookie, and the Iced Tea was okay. Four stars are only because the Restaurant was clean, and the food was okay

My dad & I were excited to see what all the hype was but came out disappointed. The sandwiches were all bread! Definitely a better quality than Subway BUT nonetheless not a quality sandwich :(For the price I was expecting a way better sandwich. On a better note the décor was up-to-date & cool little outside eating deal. Not sure what the hype is about!

If you«loooove» Subway, this probably is not for you… and that’s okay, more JJ’s for us foodies. JJ’s has fresh bread that surpasses any other samich joint around. High quality meat, endless free veggies, killer bread, super fast service & super yum product. If you love Subway, this joint is probably too evolved for you. If you prefer quality food and a cheeky, friendly atmosphere, JJ’s is for you.

Horrible customer service– is it really that hard to smile at customers? Lots of employees standing around and no one could take the time to make more iced tea– my boyfriend asked and the girl rolled her eyes– the sandwiches were good but not good enough to make up for poor customer service!

My husband and I just ate at this place on Main St. in Visalia today. I got the #2(Big John) and my husband got the #12(Beach Club). First off, great tasting bread. Kicks Subway and Port-Of-Subs right out of the water. Secondly, the atmosphere is pretty refreshing. The only thing that they do not have is military discount. For those that have complained about their menu not having«combo deals», if you do the math — sub, plus drink, plus chips — it equals almost roughly the same price. For example, two days ago I ordered a 6-inch turkey sub combo at Subway and paid $ 6.49. Comparing the sandwich I got at Subway to the one that I ordered at Jimmy John’s, I am much more pleased with Jimmy John’s. If you like simplicity and an honest-to-goodness sandwich, then this place is worth checking out. If you’re into the crazy, walk-down-the-line, point-and-decide sort of places with your sandwich extras then stick with the other places.

Tried Jimmy Johns for the first time today with my hubby. I work downtown so it’s nice to have new places to eat for lunch. The Good: 1. Fast 2. Clean The Bad: 1. A bit confusing if you’re used to other sandwich places. You don’t tell them at the counter what veggies to put on your sandwich as they make it, but you tell them at the register when you order. I didn’t know what veggies they had and the sandwiches only list a few veggies even though you can get more for free. The«Freebies» list was in the bottom left corner of the menu and I missed it. I should have asked, but they also didn’t offer this information either. 2. You do not get your choice of bread on ALL subs, even though it seems this way. At the top the menu are three pictures to choose your sandwich style showing wheat, french bread, and lettuce wrapped sandwiches. However, only the Giant Club Sandwiches include choice of bread. It was $ 0.50 extra for wheat bread on the 8″ sub and I wasn’t told this nor is it stated on the menu anywhere. I even asked them where it said that and they said that it didn’t. One employee even said it was extra on ALL subs, and another said that it was only extra on the $ 4.85 subs but included on the $ 5.85 subs. 3. Cheese is $ 0.75 extra, and your only choice is provolone. This extra charge was also not volunteered information and I had to ask if it was extra and how much. 4. No combo savings. If you want a sandwich, drink, and chips, there is no «combo» you can get that would save you anything over ordering these items a la carte. To be competitive, most sandwich places offer a savings(even if small) when ordering these items together. 5. Customer Service: I ordered the #4 Turkey Tom(Fresh sliced turkey breast, topped with lettuce, tomato, alfalfa sprouts, and mayo) for $ 4.85. I asked for it on wheat bread(+$ 0.50) and cheese(+$ 0.75) for a total of $ 6.10. Here’s the kicker: wheat bread and cheese are INCLUDED in the price of a Giant Club Sandwich for only $ 5.85. They have the same turkey sandwich on this list, #12 Beach Club(Fresh baked turkey breast, provolone cheese, avocado spread, sliced cucumber, sprouts, lettuce, tomato, and mayo). With the exception of avocado spread, it’s the same sandwich, for cheaper than I paid by asking for wheat bread and cheese on the #4. Why didn’t the employee tell me this when I ordered? «You know, if you want wheat bread and cheese, you can order the #12 and those are included for less than adding it to the #4.» This was my biggest annoyance with Jimmy Johns. Bottom Line: Your food is ready fast, it tastes fresh, and they deliver(for a fee). Aside from that, there is nothing special about the sandwiches and the employees need to know the menu better.
