Me & the Mrs were driving towards Fresno to get lunch when searching through Unilocal found this little gem in Fowler with such great reviews. As being a lover of Chinese food we decided to check it out. Really glad we did, the restaurant is clean, the service was outstanding, the owner was hilarious with such a great friendly attitude and the food was quite simply devine. It was lunch time and the place is busy with locals and regulars as the owner welcomed them by name. When locals keep coming back you know your onto a winner. We will definitely be back and we will definitely tell all our family & friends about this place. This is now our GOTO restaurant.

It was our first time going here and it was great. We had ordered it to go. The lady that helped us was very friendly and invited to sit at a table while we waited. When we were given our bag I noticed right away that it was heavy. The honey walnut shrimp was amazing. The teriyaki chicken really hit the spot as the quality of the place I normally go to has taken a decline for the worse. It even had broccoli and carrots. The rice portions, wow. Best pork fried rice I have ever had. Two of the daily specials for $ 20.03 and we had leftovers. We will be back.

I am always looking to find that dirty hole in the wall restaurant that has amazing food. Chinese Kitchen does not have amazing food, however, it is a dirty hole in the wall restaurant. I came here with my wife and when we received our food I realized the bean sprouts they used in their chow mien was a day from being rotten. Right there I knew every other ingredient they used in there dishes would be «old n nasty» and so it was. While we ate my wife complained about the food but I kept saying it’s edible. However half way through our lunch my wife pointed out two(2) cockroaches crawling on the wall. At this point, my forgiving nature gave way and I realized this would be the first and last time I ate here.

I have been coming here since I was little and I never get tired of this place! Great food and great ppl! Love the little pix of Lorenzo Neal and Jerry Tarkanian. They have a welcoming atmosphere and are locally owned. Love the homemade potstickers although everything here is homemade.

My family and I have been eating at the wonderful family restaurant since 1988 when they were in a different location. Husband and wife own it and both son and daughter work there. The food is the best Chinese food in Visalia – period! The people are wonderful and«Main», the wife, used to hold our children when they were babies so my wife could eat her food. The kids are all grown now and all of them come to this restaurant whenever they are in the Visalia area. We now live out of town but always drop in for a meal when we are here. We did so today and, as always, the food was delicious. Where can you get a giant bowl of great Wor Won Ton soup at these great prices? Over the past 27 years, our family has eaten most of the items on their excellent menu and have never been disappointed. Like the old TV commercial used to say, «Try it, you’ll like it.» Wonderful family. Terrific food. A great and quiet place to take your family!

I came here around 8pm. I ordered Broccoli and beef, Kung Pao Chicken, and House special fried rice. Beef and Broccoli: well the broccoli was not fresh and the meat looked weird. It was probably reheated. House special fried rice: it consisted of shrimp, chicken, scramble egg, pork, peas, carrots and obviously fried rice. For me it was pretty good. Even though the chicken was bland. Kung Pao chicken: it consisted of bell pepper, onion, celery, peanuts, and of course chicken. It need lots of flavor. Peanuts gave it flavor. Chicken was bland. The area: Honestly looked shady. The environment: it was lonely when I arrived. The restaurant was super old and family oriented. Customers service. Nice, but weird. They did check on us. On the side note, their goldfish fish tank was dirty. Also my girlfriend didn’t get a fortune in the fortune cookie, I thought that was funny.^_^

Best Chinese food in Visalia. Closest to Bay Area Chinese food. It’s a hope in the wall but I’ve tried China Garden, Kowloons, Zen Asian Restaurant, Shanghai’s and they are all ok but not as good as Chinese Kitchen IMHO.

Some food is excellent while others are not so good. First the good, the egg drop soup is very good. The best item on the menu… chicken chow main with soft noodles. The rice is okay too, I just don’t care for the onion scallops they put in the rice. Oh and I’ve tried the lemon chicken which is pretty excellent as well. The one thing that I absolutely hated was the beef broccoli it tasted like what dog food should taste like. It was horrible! The beef even looked weird but I tried it cause it was a lot of money just for that single dish and I was the only one who’d be eating it. I didn’t say anything because my husband knows the owners son so I just politely ignored the dish. It was the next day that I finally told my husband to remind me to never order the beef broccoli. Luckily for me he didn’t mind. The atmosphere is very dingy and old but I’m not the type of person that cares about exterior. If you just focus on your dinner date you’ll get past it. ;) Overall yes, we will be back but only for the dishes we know and like very much!

The food was good i had the orange chicken and it comes with rice which was good but the chicken was drowning in sauce and my co worker ordered the sweet and sour pork which was a small amount but it worked really good with the rice and chow main. The service kind of sucked the guy was nice at first but never ask us if we wanted something to drink then when he took our order he rushed away and didnt ask or let us say what we wanted to drink so we had to stop him and tell him Over all it was good and we would come back again… maybe not soon though

I grew up coming to Chinese Kitchen. After I moved to Fresno it was hard for me to find another place like them. I will drive 45 minutes to get some really good Chinese food because its worth it. There Crispy Noodles are the best. And even though the outside may not be impressive the food is. Worth trying once and you will fall in love and keep going back.

I heard about this place by word of mouth and decided to phone in a order. I called and the lady who picked up was pretty friendly and suggested the popular item if i had never tried their food before. She said it was going to be about 15 mins which was pretty quick. I was kinda scared by the look of the place but was wrong. I put in a order a la carte of pork fried rice pork chow mein and orange chicken. When i got home and opened it up I could smell how delishes it was. The orange chicken was very flavorful. The chow mein tasted just right and the rice was perfect. It was amazing and so far one of the best if not the best in visalia

If you like Chinese food this is the place to go in Visalia. This is by all accounts the closest traditionally to what you will find in Hong Kong. They have a pretty good sized menu and will make Hong Kong style pan fried noodles if you ask. the Chinese Kitchen is large enough to handle a big group but small enough to feel cozy. Everything is good. If I could add more stars I would, when it comes to take out or dine in you can’t beat their flavor. They will also make tofu dishes if you ask nice(and being a vegetarian I like that).

I liked this place for their service and some of their food dishes. They have a nice assortment of foods to choose from, but some of the dishes they served were too greasy for me, while others were extremely tasty and not greasy at all. The jury is still out on this place for me, but I will be going back to try them out once again to get a better feel for the restaurant when I am visiting Visalia.
