I don’t know why after so long i forget how poorly Carl’s Jr has gotten, i am from the east coast and moved out to california 10 years ago, when i moved here Carl’s Jr was delicious and had more homemade like burger patties than most fast food places have and the other one by my house had a very nice man who was super friendly but now it’s food quality and the preparing of food has gone to crap really, sloppily made and hardly ever is my order right. I came here on my lunch break and got 2 lettuce wrapped burgers, asked for no ketchup sauce and was given a slight rude or irritated giggle saying uhh it’s not ketchup(like i should know what’s in the«special sauce») so i said okay well none of that please and asked if i could get mustard on it instead– when i got back to work my lettuce wraps were wilted and so messy i had to just toss it all out and eat my patties on a plate and no mustard was added so all i got was dry burger hardly a drop of mayo. I didn’t think my order was all that complicated, but this is probably the 5th time i have had bad experience(mostly out of trying to grab a lunch food of convenience) and this will be the last time as it’s either a food or customer services issue…(can also account for the play place being gross and dirty, i would never take my daughter in there)

Carls USED to be THE best fast food burger ever but for some odd reason their corporate structure has changed over the past ten years give or take? Not living in Visalia anylonger I cannot say if the local two Carls are still decent our not, but way out here on the eastern coast in Florida they are called Hardee’s, but still owned by the Carls Jr. Corp. at some point they bought up the Hardees chain and now all of them have the very same menu items whether your eating at a Carls, or a Hardees, why on earth the leaders that be just do not make them ALL coast to coast Carls Jr. and go back to the simple menu and great flame broiled taste they always where back when the original owners still ran things is beyond me. however I will say depending on the location your at the burgers can be better than at others in the chain, its all about the place your eating at whether you get a well made burger or some slap job by a punk that doesn’t give a damn? I used to love the Carls on Mooney Blvd. Famous Star with extra cheese and extra secret sauce was about as good as it got, so I would hope if I came back tomorrow they would still be as good today as they used to be?

I just wish the cashiers will pay attention and listen to the customers when they’re ordering, even when bagging the items. I was just there and once I got to the windows saw an employee who was bagging food talking and laughing with the crew. If you’re going to multi-task at least pay attention while doing so. It was very frustrating to find my order wrong when I got back to work. Word of advice to the employees at this establishment: BEEFFICIENT, if you don’t know what it means then look it up!

A nice shady location located near many local businesses near downtown Visalia. The outside is clean and well maintained and the inside has been remodeled and updated to look a little like a 50’s style diner. The menu options are fantastic with so much variety. The best thing about this location is the consistency of the food quality. Each time I have had lunch or dinner at this location the quality of the food has remained consistent. To sum it up this is a good clean and safe location to take the family.

Food was good, our kids saw the playground, too bad it was dirty, torn and not maintained at all they even had a safety guy checking it out I told him he should see how dirty it is, he said I am sure I will find out. A clean rag will do a world of difference.

Used to be the best fast food around, but sadly the last few times I’ve been there the fries or criss cut fries have been cold or soggy. Still have the best burgers but for the price all the food should be hot and fresh.

Carl’s Jr. Chain burger joint. Big whup, right? Well, I first had a Carl’s Jr burger… hmm…gads, over 30 years ago now, when I was visiting my brother on the Peninsula. I had the contemporary incarnation of the Guacamole Bacon Six Dollar Burger. I never forgot how good that burger was. And you know what? They’re STILL that good. Now, some Carl’s Jrs have descended into that burger chain purgatory, with slack-jawed, pimply twerps behind the counter, grimy atmosphere and ingredients wrapped up together in the paper without ever truly being assembled into anything recognizable as the picture on the menu. The Mooney location in Visalia, while not quite that close to hell, is tiptoeing in that direction. My preferred Visalia location, on the corner of Ben Maddox and Main, seems to hold true to the original Carl’s Jr values of good food, good service, good atmosphere. I like it that you don’t have to hang around the counter, waiting for your food, or try to hear, above the horrible music, some slack-jaw who doesn’t give a sheit call your number. Sure, you order at the counter, but Carl’s Jr BRINGSYOURFOODTOYOURTABLE. Nice! Yet you get to get your own napkins, drinks and salsas — you don’t have to wait for the slack-jaws to notice you standing at the counter, attempting to make your request. And the burgers are GOOD. Really good! The Teryaki Burger — yum! The Western Bacon Cheeseburger — yum! The Memphis BBQ Burger — damn, they got that one right! I’ve found the chicken to be kind of meh, and the Green Burrito — hm. But the burgers? Carl’s Jr does them right. The fries are pretty good, too. The fried zucchini is pretty good. The onion rings are pretty good. The sweet potato fries are pretty good. It’s all food worth coming back for. Four stars for a chain burger.
