This place is so awesome! Who would guess there is a sports memorabilia store hidden behind all those plants? I go here for most of my 49ers gear and if there’s something you see but not in your team, they’ll order it. Everyone is super friendly and if you also love to #geocache as much as garden and collect NFL/MLB gear you’ll also find #Harry’s cache on site. I won’t ruin it for you so hunt for the cache and be sure to bring your cash!

Ha! This place been here FOEVA! Still an awesome place to find sports stuff. Real great customer service, very helpful and they will order anything you want if they don’t have it. Their plants look good too. But I don’t do yard work so I can’t speak on the things about gardening etc. but if one day I do, I’ll come here as my first stop!

FOOTBALLFANS… VBFS — Virginia Beach Feed & Seed OR Virginia Beach Football Store The choice is yours. Care to feed your grass and make your yard look great? Have at it. That’s why I am writing this reviewing Do you want to be «that» person with everything football-related all over your house? THIS is the place to go. Hard to find. So easy to miss. Withduck Rd and Cleveland St. Find the plants and everything feed and seed related. You may catch a football flag blowing in the wind and sometimes a blow up football player. Park your whip. Walk inside the building. The wow factor isn’t with décor. It’s far from anything fancy. Wow… There’s so many damn things to buy that’s all football. Cups, flags, blankets, corn hole bags, shirts… You name it and they probably have it. Walk up the stairs and you’ll find corn hole boards. I picked up a few blank ones to paint already primed along with bags for $ 135. It’s $ 200 if you want it colored with you team. Seriously, this is by far the biggest surprise you’ll find in Hampton Roads.

I passed by this place a million times coming off the interstate but never stopped until recently. I’m glad I did. It’s kind of like an old-school general store inside with everything from old-fashioned candies to yard doohickeys. The outside is filled with plants and hay bails and mulch and flower pots and all manner of home and garden supplies. Plus there are corn hole games, customized pet memorials(really) and more sports paraphernalia than you can shake a baseball bat at. Here’s the thing: it’s a big, fat charming mess. Everything is sort of haphazardly strewn about and there’s stuff in every corner and crevice. I bought a few plants for my vegetable garden there a few weeks ago and most of the plants were on carts, but they didn’t seem to be organized in any discernible way. You have to search around for good ones. It’s like a treasure hunt. Maybe most people wouldn’t see this as a good thing. To me it’s a refreshing antidote to the corporate sterility of Lowe’s and Home Depot. And they have a lot of things big box stores don’t. They carry a LOT of products for lawn maintenance. One day I was in there and the guy behind the counter informed me that they were the hands-down experts on lawns and could hook me up with the right formula or fix for any lawn ailment. Since my lawn is the size of a postage stamp and I have a thing against the bizarre American obsession with carpet grass anyway, I didn’t take him up on it. But it’d be worth calling his bluff if that’s your thing.
