This place rocks. I came in hoping to get a board so I could learn how to surf. Billy helped me pick out a board that worked for me both as a beginner and a very large guy. He also gave me a lot of really helpful pointers and some encouragement. Definitely helped me get out there with a bit more confidence and information. I wound up coming back to the shop a couple of times during my stay and got to meet a few other staff members(sadly, I don’t recall their names) and every time I came in they asked how learning was going, offered me new tips for whatever aspect I was working on that day, and offered more encouragement. As far as I’m concerned, this is the only rental outfit in VA beach.

Had a great time here. They got us out on the water really fast. Everyone from the store workers to the people down by the dock were very friendly. Friendly tip: they stop kayak rentals after 2pm so make sure you show up before.

When I asked my daughter what her favorite part of our week vacation to Sandbridge was, she said surf camp! She is 10 and did the 2 day chica surf camp. It was awesome! They met at the Little Island Park(bring $ 5 for parking unless you are just dropping off. We went and my younger daughter played on the playground and in the ocean anyway). Although we were supposed to get 5 hours over 2 days, the instructors kept them a little bit longer both days so they could get all the waves. The first day was pretty mild and the girls got to pretty much go in the water together and take the waves individually. The second day was rough(red flags) so an additional instructor came and they took the girls one by one. There was also a pizza party at their shop after the second day and the girls got a gift bag with a t-shirt, stickers and healthy snacks. Yes, my daughter wants to go back next year and her sister wants to go as well! Thank you Candice and Sarah for a great experience!

Went here on vacation. Rented some sup boards and they have pretty cool launch area to the back of the store and you can just paddle out from there. Pretty cool, but its an out and back, not a loop, so a little monotonous. The real reason for my 2 star review is we tried to rent 5 bikes the following day and every time we called anyone who answered had no idea if they had bikes available, how many bikes were coming back that day, «we have to walk back to the shed and check for you», totally clueless… Here’s a novel idea– get a walkie talkie to the guys back in the shed and ask! Have a sign in/out sheet with the bikes being rented, have something where you can give customers an answer. We called 5 different times and each time they just can’t get there act together, so we went down to Jimmie down the road next to the Baja restaurant and in less than a minute he showed us the bikes(a couple different models) and we were off and riding to cape fear park. I took the big tire bike and it was great in the sand. So easy and its closer to the park and the riding trails by miles and better parking.

Great local business owned by the nicest people you’ll ever meet! Haven’t tried the SUP lessons yet — but hear it’s an awesome time! S & A is a great place to go for kids’ surfing lessons & they have a great surf shop too. It’s where I go FIRST to buy my kids Christmas presents — great clothes, longboards & accessories(the cool stuff the kids want). They have great end-of –summer sales too that you don’t want to miss! A fantastic local business that represents Sandbridge well!

Dave and Josh save the day! I reserved a kayak for my friend and an SUP for me so we could go on the Cmmunity Paddle today 6.15.2014. The price was good($ 27 each) and they provided shuttle service from Blue Pete’s where we all parked to the starting point at the Shop. There were 4 guides for the group(30 people or so mostly kayaks). It was a gorgeous day and we were all in good spirits. My friend had a blast, and I managed to stay on my SUP! Sadly, about ¼ of the way along the 3 mile route, another SUP paddler stepped on something sharp cut his foot and twisted his ankle when he slipped off his board. I was impressed by the calm, conscientious handling of the situation by our guides. They had a basic first aid kit, cleaned the wound, put on a bandage and one towed him back to the shop using a canoe. Later on I got a vicious cramp in the bottom of my right foot(it was my 3rdSUP experience and I had had an Achilles’ tendon re-attachment surgery on that leg in 2008) so to the humiliation of my ego I was towed about ¼ mile by the canoe guides Dave and Josh, who laughingly commanded that I sing as long as they had to pull me. Happily My cramp eased up and I was able to make it the final stretch on my own after a series of goofy camp songs and«What a Wonderful World.» All in all a great experience but next time I will ask for a board with foam on top and a shape that glides better!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Made reservation with Katy who was a sweetheart. And our Stand Up Paddleboard instructor, Jesse, was patient and willing to do whatever and go wherever we wanted. Three out of four paddles were not adjustable and so were not sized properly but no one was complaining. We chose the ocean over the bay because we wanted to see dolphins and although I know it’s not in their control, see them we did!(Katy told us they’re usually not around so late in the year but the blue fish were still running and that brings dolphins.) We saw at least a dozen and a few were no more than 20 feet from my board. When you see them from afar you want to be close and then when you’re close, it’s a bit frightening. We finished with trying our hand at surfing on the boards. If you’re going to do that, give yourself at least a half hour for plenty of tries. For me, 25 or so runs yielded 2 rides all the way to shore. And, oh, they have a great surf shop too.

We didn’t know that you were supposed to make reservations 24 hours in advance but they were nice enough to squeeze us in to the morning tour. The weather was perfect and the tour guides were great. I’m by no means an experienced kayaker but I caught on pretty quickly and was easily able to keep up with the group. Lots of fun and we saw some fun wildlife. I can’t wait to go again!

I’ve attended CLC for the last few years and absolutely love the church. The people, pastoral staff and facilities are all geared towards helping individuals develop a strong, healthy personal relationship with God. It is great to be in a relaxed, welcoming place where persons of all backgrounds, ages and stages come together for one purpose. Sundays are one of my favorite days of the week.

The worship music is amazing! Powerful teaching from the pulpit and an overall warm and welcoming experience. Our family will continue to go to CLC on a regular basis. Will you come too?
