Spic And Span Cleaning Service

We hired Spic n Span to do a ‘move-​out’ cleaning before our renter moves into our home. They were a delight to work with! The rates were great – they have a great military discount. They did more things than I even expected and the house looks fantastic. The two ladies who cleaned were so pleasant and friendly and the owner was a pleasure to work with on the quote/​scheduling. Totally recommend!

After years of renting in Virginia Beach. We finally took the plunge and bought a house here in town. Why not, why should I be paying someone else’s mortgage. So we hired these girls to clean. It was a team of three girls and they had done an exceptional job. It was left cleaner than when we moved in. I’m planning on using them again.

Spic and Span recently had a Groupon deal, and we’ve been looking for a new housecleaning service, so I though, «why not?» I figured it was a good way to check them out to see if we wanted to hire them for regular cleaning. The Groupon was $ 109 for 3 separate 2-​hour cleaning sessions. I bought the Groupon, and called to sign up for service. The woman I spoke to aggressively promoted an additional $ 60/​visit (for an additional $ 180) to «fully clean the house.» She would not tell me how many hours this might be (keep in mind they would already be there for a 2-​hour session), nor what this cleaning entailed, just that they strongly recommended it. I declined the offer, and she got rather curt, and told me that there were no appointments available for 6 weeks, and that they really wouldn’t be able to clean very much with only 2 hours and I should only count on, at most, two bathrooms and part of another room. I was pretty irritated at this point, but as I’d already bought the Groupon I set the appointment. They never showed up, and didn’t even bother to call. At that point, I was done. I emailed Groupon and asked for my money back. They may or may not actually clean things effectively once they show up, but after the aggressive upsell, the unprofessional attitude on the phone, and the failure to show up I have no interest in hiring them.
