I ordered what i thought i ordered last time The Salmon Salad which is on my PAST post. When it came out looking completely different no rice no mango salsa, i asked for a menu, which the waiter refused to give it to me and he simply pointed at it and said no rice see. Taking the menu so i couldnt search to find what i last ordered. Only to get to the register ask the cashier to find whats in the picture on the menu, he pointed at a salmon dish that wasnt even a salad and didnt match the description at all. But INSISTED IT WAS THE PICTURE. Blew us off bye saying bye and walked away. Extremely poor service. 2 stars cause i still like the view. Never coming back

This is the best Mexican food I’ve found in the area after living here for 10 years. Still doesn’t beat true Tex-​mex but it’ll do.

I always love the food, drinks, and the patio here. But tonight, when some friends and I came up for some apps and drinks our service was sub-​par. From the get go, the server rubbed us the wrong way since she rolled her eyes at my valid ID. the whole rest of the time, we felt rushed out of the place… Especially when the server locked the patio door leaving us locked out of the restaurant 20 minutes before close. The way they rushed us out was extremely rude. I love this place, but not at closing.

Outstanding service, very attentive staff. Ordered chimichanga that was delivered within ten minutes of ordering. My cup of tea never made it down to the half way point of my cup. The food was delicious and I have no complaints about it.

If you’ve ever had authentic Mexican food, don’t go here. I had high hopes because the staff is mostly actually Mexican, but the food is pretty bad, except for the chips and salsa.

Went to Señor Fox tonight and manager offered us a shot of tequila and said it was on the house then added 16.90 on our tab. I told him I did not want one but my mom did and he said it is on the house what kind tequila do you want she said patron and then the manager brought us two shots after we even told him i did not want one and charged us. I will not be returning if that is how they treat there customers.

We eat here once in a while-​none of use are really diehard fans of Mexican food, but we do get the occasional craving, and this is the place we usually choose. The food has always been good, and we always have to ask for more of that white dip-​salsa blanco?-that comes with the tortilla chips at the beginning of the meal-​my husband and daughter can’t get enough of it! (They have regular salsa too, and I didn’t find it more than mildly spicy-​I had to laugh at the guy whose wife couldn’t tolerate it-​why on earth would you eat at a Mexican restaurant in the first place if you don’t like spicy food?) So far, we’ve tried the vegetarian platter, quesadillas, enchiladas, and fajitas, and we have never had a complaint about any of it. Not even my husband, who is very picky and always seems to have to ask for a hundred different things to be left off, put on the side, etc., can say that he didn’t get what he wanted. The wait staff has always been very attentive, and we have never had to wait to be seated more than a few seconds.
The only quibble I have with this place is a strange one-​I wish they would turn the music down just a bit. It’s already a loud place, what with the attached bar, and the large parties that come in, and that’s not a bad thing, but, we find ourselves having almost to yell across the table to talk to each other, and it makes it hard to hear the waiter. That’s the only real negative I can think of-​otherwise, we like Señor Fox, and will continue to pop in occasionally.

Excellent service– prompt refills on chips salsa and water. Super huge portions– definitely enough for two meals per entrée. The medium margarita is really huge and gives a buzz half way through. The chicken is really good quality and flavorful.

We tried Senior Fox for a early dinner and were not very impressed.
Like most Mexican restaurants they start your meal with some chips and salsa. I thought the salsa was pretty good however it was hot. My wife cannot tolerate hot salsa so asked for a mild version. Very disappointed that they did not have that option.
We ordered fajitas which were pretty good however they were very skimpy on the guacamole and sour cream, Forcing us to order a side of each. Just charge a little more for the fajitas and give a generous portion of each.
A big turnoff with our dining experience was that our waitress went outside for a smoke break mid service and came back smelling like smoke and without washing her hands. Yuk!
Overall the dining experience was disappointing.

The service was horrible. The waiter did not understand what we were ordering. We had to repeat ourselves multiple times when just ordering our beverages. It took a while for our drinks then the waiter disappeared for about 15 mins, while we waited to place our entrée order. He was very rude and trying to rush us to place our order. When the food was finally ready, four orders were wrong. While one of the individuals in my group tried to explain the order was wrong, he told her she was wrong and started to look through his note pad. The whole table heard the individual order and knew the waiter wrote the order wrong bc the two individuals actually ordered the same meal and he got both of them wrong. As we were telling him it was wrong again he still insisted the individual was wrong and started to get upset and basically throw a hissy fit right in front of us. On top of that he threw one of the wrong meals on the table at one of the guests, which had a baby in her car seat on the chair he threw the plate over. When I told the waiter I wanted to speak to a manager, he told me «oh everything’s fine, your foods here, everything’s fine». I told him no I want to talk to a manager about your attitude. He did not get a manager and seemed like he didn’t plan on getting one either. So, I asked another waiter and he started to laugh at me and speak to the our waiter in Spanish. Then I was told there was no manager on duty with more laughing. At this point everyone at the table were upset and did not want to eat. Finally, the only female working came to the table and I spoke to her about how rude her staff are. She was nice and tried to get a hold of the manager, with no luck. It’s highly unprofessional not to have at least one manager on staff working, but to have your staff treat your guests like there nothing, is ridiculous. Since a manager was not present nothing was done about our bills. But I believe the female did talk to the staff. I will never go there again and still can not believe the horrible customer service we received.

You get a lot of food for your buck that’s for sure. Unfortunately I got a bad batch or something. Went to the doctor to find out it was food poisoning. I ordered through the order up app and maybe it was the fact it had sat it for a while (I got my food cold) or something but I don’t think I’ll order take out again.

Nice place, great view, staff quick and nice. Margarita was delicious !. Very busy and food atill came quick ! I will definitely go back!

The service was great-​they were friendly and very attentive. As soon as we knew what we wanted the server was there to take our order and the food came extremely quick. And boy did we get a great meal! We ordered a 2 person Molecajetes for 3 people and still had left overs! Great food and will definitely be back.

Really like Señor Fox. I like the taco menu. The Mexico City street tacos are fantastic! Nice outdoor seating section overlooking a lake. They even a good sized bar area that you can have the full menu at too. People are friendly and professional. Drinks are always good and I already mentioned the tacos!

Allergic to sour cream. Ask for no sour cream and tell them I have an allergy. Get sour cream. Ordered the Burrito Texan there where several long hairs in it! Service sucked food was worse!

Stopped in for lunch on Cinco de Mayo and it was busy but not crazy. I think the «crazy» started for the dinner hours.
I took a seat at the bar where I had good attention from the bartender who kept my drink (not a Corona as I had to go back to work) refilled and took my order swiftly.
I love this thing that only seems to exist in the Virginia Beach area. I think you call it salsa blanco. It’s the white salsa that’s not queso and not ranch dressing but a creamy white salsa with a little bit of bit to it. Very tasty and gets big props from me. The chips were light and not greasy, nicely bent for easy scooping of both white and red salsa.
I chose the burrito grande, which arrived stuffed with a lot of shredded chicken and rice and beans, with guacamole on top and some shredded cheese. Quite tasty, a lot of food and the chicken was very good.
Señor Fox has a patio that overlooks a small lake, which is super awesome.

I would normally give 4 stars to Señor Fox but I’m giving them a 3 because of what we experienced when we arrived. I came in with a party of 35 people and had a reservation made for 8:30pm. When we arrived, they seemed confused like they did not know of our reservation and the restaurant was pretty crowded because of Valentine’s Day. One of the employees said they did not want to turn away other customers, which resulted in not enough seating for our large party. By knowing they were going to have such a large group of people, the business should have planned accordingly and when we said this, all they could say was «I don’t know.»
Fortunately, after much discussion, the night turned around and the food and drinks were very tasty. They helped make everything better for us and we had a fun night. You must try their sangria. DELICIOUS. Normally I am not a fan of sangria at Mexican restaurants but I did enjoy this one. So props to you, Señor Fox.
My family and I are loyal customers to Señor Fox and will certainly come back again because the customer service is great as well as the food, but I suppose they should plan better for larger parties in the future so this doesn’t happen again.

Let me tell you something right now, GET THE GOD DAMN PORK TACOS … Get them, eat them… have a foodgasim. Repeat. Everything was excellent, The house made hot sauce is great, service, price is reasonable and it looks like a great place to cut loose and enjoy good food and good company. Of all the mexican places in this area i think this one may be majorly overlooked. Give it a try, its worth it.

I use to love, love this restaurant. I ate here frequently because of the great food and friendly service.
This place has gone incredibly downhill.
1^st bad experience: went with my mom, food came out cold. Like just out of the fridge cold! So so weird for them.
Came back because I figured it was an outlier and… 2^nd bad experience: went with my boyfriend. I am pretty sure their AC was broken. It was HOT inside. We ate anyway and tried ignoring it. But we left early because it was so hot in there and I couldn’t take it anymore. Got into the car, started feeling incredibly sick. We had to cancel movie plans because I felt so bad. 2 hour later I was vomiting (sorry for the details!) due to food poising. Because the place was so hot in there, I wouldn’t be surprised if the food had been spoiled or contaminated. Thought maybe it was just heat exhaustion but I didn’t get sick until later. The servers and management that day completely ignored the fact that it was hot in there and customers were leaving, even when we asked about the problem. They were weird about everything…
But I LOVED this place. I just had to try, one more time…
3^rd bad experience: FOOD POISONING ROUND 2! Went with my father. All I had was tacos and rice and a margarita. Everything tasted okay but when I got home that night I got incredibly sick, worse than the first time.
I miss when this place was great):

I was pretty impressed. The food was very good and fresh — they bring a generous portion of salsa and white sauce and when I ordered cheese dip to go with the chips and salsa it was a huge portion nearly double the size you’re typically given at the other Mexican restaurants around here.
I ordered the chicken rancheros which came with beans with cheese on top, some verde sauce, lettuce, some tomatoes and cheese and some guacamole with warm tortillas.
The chicken was amazing and cooked perfectly and the food came out very quickly. The service was good and everyone was attentive and polite.
The inside is kept clean with a nice bar area, a clean and spacious bathroom and plenty of booth seating. I very much like the wall of windows facing the water/​bay neighborhood area which can be seen all the way around and has a nice patio outside area as well which I am looking forward to enjoying when the weather improves.
Great experience — I’ll be back many more times.
