We choose to do the $ 21.95 per person for all you can eat. What made this unique was that it was anything you wanted off of the menu, including appetizers. Our party of five started with eight orders of Goyza(32 pieces). While the others ate sushi, I ate from the ‘Kitchen Menu’, starting with the shrimp teriyaki and a plate of shrimp fried rice. The orders are small. The shrimp teriyaki consisted of five medium sized shrimp. They were very good, almost like getting fried shrimp. I ended up getting two more orders. I also tried the shrimp tempura. While not as heavily breaded as in most places, it was just ok. Also need to mention that the service was outstanding. The young waitress kept bringing out our many plates in short order and also kept bringing me fresh glasses of Diet Coke, which I appreciated!

Came here for the AYCE lunch and boy, was I not impressed. I don’t have a big appetite and between my toddler(who ate for free) and I, we shared gyoza, shrimp tempura, shrimp fried rice, teriyaki beef and a roll(forgot the name. it was eel, avo and tuna maybe?). I had to send back the beef teriyaki as it was tough. Shrimp tempura did not look like the fluffy/crunchy ones I usually get. This one, the batter was shriveled and looked old. Gyoza, you can’t really go wrong with those. They’re the only thing that tasted«good.» Fried rice, bland. Roll was ok. The lady who seated us could use a smile. Server took a few minutes to get to us but was attentive after that.

Fresh sushi, super service but can get quite busy when you’re ordering specialty rolls. They have something for everyone!

This is by far the best sushi restaurant I have been to in Virginia Beach. Their price is great and the staff is amazing. The atmosphere is relaxed although the lighting can be a little dim at night. Not a huge issue, but it did feel like I was dining at Hollister when I was seated in the middle of the restaurant.

This used to be my favorite restaurant. I’m really sad to see how poor the customer service has become over time. I used to come in several times a month and I rarely eat out. The food used to be consistently delicious but now it seems as if they cut corners on the quality to make more profit on the high priced sit down buffet option. They also make it obvious now that they want to rotate the tables.(I get it, I served while in college) but when you plan to enjoy a meal and it takes forever to get service, the servers are inattentive and the quality suffers, I don’t appreciate being pushed out after spending over $ 20 bucks a head. If you take forever to take and bring out my order and drop the bill shortly after it comes out, I am not going to be pleased. They lost a customer including the many people I’ve brought in over the years.

Great sushi. Great price. What more needs to be said? Oh yeah, sashimi is including in the price!

I have to be in the mood for sushi. And I have been in one of those moods for the past week or so. My husband and I were in the area getting his new iPhone and we decided to try Sakura out since it was in the same shopping center. There weren’t too many people dining there, so we were seated immediately and our food arrived very quickly. Our server was super attentive — she consistently checked up on us, but not to the point of annoyance. The sushi was delicious — I tried a couple of rolls and the shrimp fried rice and I got full off of that. My husband had to help me finish off the rest of my rolls so we wouldn’t have to pay the«wasted food» fee, or whatever it’s called. My husband tried several different types of sushi and he enjoyed all of them. I had to take away one star because the hostesses up front could use an attitude adjustment. One of them tried sitting us down at a table when there was a booth available. My husband merely asked if we could move to the booth and she gave us an attitude about it. Later on, as we were leaving, the same hostess glared at us. Not a really good lasting impression, but as long as they serve that bomb fried green tea ice cream, hubs and I will be back.

Sakura for me is hit or miss no matter what time of day I go or what day I go. Sometimes it’s crazy busy and sometimes it’s quiet and slow. That’s not the part that bothers me. What bothers me sometimes is the inconsistency of the service and waitstaff. Sometimes they’re very attentive, always coming around willing to refill your drinks or take new orders, and sometimes they disappear and you’re left sucking as much of what your ice cubes have melted into your cup. When they are gone for too long, sometimes you forget what you want to order next, it even worse, you order, they take forever to serve it to you and then you can’t finish because you’ve been sitting too long! Grrrr. What I do like about here is the all you can eat option. The lunch menu($ 13) has significantly become less with what seems to me just the popular rolls customer typically order. It’s been awhile since I’ve been there for dinner($ 21) and from what I remember the menu is little«bigger» with more variety, including dessert. If you don’t want the AYCE option they are more than happy to provide you with a menu to choose other dishes. If you are a big sushi eater then this is the place for you. Order as much as you like, BUT keep in mind what you don’t finish! They aren’t shy to charge you for what is left on the plate.(Today’s visit said if it looks like it’s about 3 pcs left, you get charged. Not sure what dinner restrictions are!)

Sakura is one of the OGAYCE sushi restaurants in VB.(Okay, no more acronyms… maybe.) I’ve been coming here for more than five years, and I’m happy to see that they’re still thriving. They have an excellent menu for dinner with a variety of appetizers, kitchen items, sushi rolls, and sashimi; it’s one of the best all you can eat menus in the area. If you get full off of just a few rolls like me, the best part is that they let you order half rolls(3 – 5 pieces rather than 8 pieces). Service can be inconsistent especially during peak hours, but that won’t deter me from coming back again.

5 stars for all you can eat sushi places. This place is not a buffet, but it is all you can eat. Everything on the menu is all you can eat. Although it’s pricier, they have a larger selection for dinner including large shrimp in terriyaki sauce, fried scallops, shrimp tempura, shu Mai, chicken terriyaki, spider rolls, California rolls, uni, etc. my favorite thing to order here is the spicy tuna tataki as well as the fried green tea ice cream. Service can be a hit or miss, but it’s typically good. Food has always came out faster in comparison to other sushi restaurants. Although the quality of the fish may not be grade A Toro, it’s really good for the money you spend, all things considered. Additionally, it’s probably the prettiest sushi restaurant I’ve ever been to– they did a great job with the décor. If you’ve never been here, this is the place to go if you & your stomach feel like doing work.

As always, fast and friendly service. For a party of five and several big groups at the restaurant, the orders were coming out quickly. Server was very attentive to our food and drink needs. Almost stalkerish but nice to know she’ll be there when we need something. Sushi and saki to make my tummy happy!

The best compliment I can pay them is I ate lunch 2 days in a row because the first day was so delicious! Lunch, which goes till 3pm, is $ 12.95 for all you can eat with a decent selection of made to order sushi, rolls, gyoza, shumai, and kitchen dishes such as tempura, katsu, and teriyaki. Dinner doubles to $ 24.95 but the menu is impressive. Everything is made to order and very fresh. They do huge business so turover of seafood is guarenteed. The food was OUTSTANDING! Ive been unimpressed with other Japanese all you can eat places in the past but this place is gonna remain a go-to spot. The tempura was not greasy. The rolls were fresh, fast, and delicious. The goyza was okay but the shumai was amazing… and crispy on the outside which is unusual. Truthfully, the amount consumed would habe cost triple the price elsewhere. If you need more than good sushi to draw you in, the décor is really nice and the whole place is super clean. I will definitely be returning!

I had never been to an all you can eat sushi restaurant before trying Sakura last night. I had heard some good reviews and was excited to give it a try. We went late on a Friday night and were seated right away. Phenomenal and quick service! It is $ 21.95 for all you can eat(pick off the menu). The menu is quite large and has soup, salad, appetizers, noodles and rice dishes, from the kitchen dishes, as well as sushi rolls and sashimi etc. the only things not included in the all you can eat price are drinks and dessert. There is a note at the bottom that says something like Please only order what you can consume, charges will apply if you leave more than 3 pieces. AKA– don’t over do it. Once I saw this I was concerned that this«deal» wasn’t so great after all. We wanted to try several things, but how were we supposed to do that when each roll was that big? Don’t worry, you can order half rolls. :) We each started with 3 half orders of different sushi rolls. We tried: Lynnhaven Red and White Roll Hawaiian Roll Spider Roll Pembroke Lobster Roll We liked each one! The only thing I was a little upset about was the inconsistency of the size each piece was cut to. I would have a very skinny piece and then a huge piece I almost couldn’t fit in my mouth. Other than that, the rolls all tasted delicious! We finished and ordered Gyoza(pork dumpling) which was pretty good, a little salty. The shrimp tempura — which was ok, seemed a little under done and came with a strange sauce we couldn’t figure out. And of course edamame. All and all we really enjoyed Sakura. Definitely a good price for all of the different options. I would try this place again for sure.

I’ve never been to AYCE sushi before so I was a little hesitant but reading reviews and looking at pictures we decided to try it last night. Got there Friday around 8pm and it was packed. No wait though. Started with plum wine and hot sake, a staple each time we go go sushi. And miso and clear soup. I really enjoyed the miso soup here. For rolls we got Kill Bill, Spicey Beach, Dancing Eel, and one other one I can not remember. They were all fresh and tasty and super good. I really like the spicey beach one. Sashimi we had pieces of salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and white tuna and I was in heaven. They seriously melted in your mouth and were decent chunks of meaty raw goodness. Finished with more plum wine and more hot sake, so everything came to about $ 100 including a $ 15 tip. Not too shabby. I think we found our new go to sushi spot.

My boyfriend and I do the all you can eat sushi here and the food/service is always very good. There’s several vegan sushi rolls to choose from and a couple different appetizers. My boyfriend eats a ton of sushi and they do a great job of keeping up with his multiple orders. I always like to finish my meal with a cup of green tea that comes in a cute ceramic cup and is really tasty(and always super hot). Vegan tip: a few vegan appetizers and several vegan sushi options on the menu. Hooray!

This I one of the best All You Can Eat sushi restaurants in the area. I’ve certainly eaten at a few of them! They have a good ratio of fish on the sushi and rolls. You don’t feel like you’re eating rice and cucumber. Just realize you’re not getting a ton of fish at full price either. Business is fairly quick, there isn’t much encouragement to sit and linger. The wait staff can get busy, but the sushi still comes out pretty quick. It’s located a few stores down from the big Walmart on Princess Anne. If you check in on Unilocal, you get 10% off! I had to use my friend’s phone because Unilocal app doesn’t work on my Blackberry.

**4.5 stars** This is my go to spot in Vabeach for AYCE sushi. I’ve been here once before for their lunch which I was already impressed with, decided I need to do a review after trying out the dinner buffet. The lunch buffet is priced around $ 12 — $ 13 and dinner is around $ 21 — $ 22, the only difference between these two options is that dinner offers more special rolls and appetizer options. I enjoy both buffet styles, the lunch has enough options to keep me satisfied and the dinner just adds onto everything I’m already enjoying. Note: Check-in on Unilocal for 10% off your bill(only applicable for the dinner option)! The menu is pretty extensive for dinner and can seem overwhelming, but it’s AYCE so nothing can really go wrong with what you order. If it doesn’t work out, just order something else instead! For the rolls, we ordered the following: Samurai, Christmas Tree, Superman, Twin Tower, Jalapeño, and Rock n Roll. I loved all the rolls that were ordered except for samurai(unfortunately this is the one I selected). I tend to like saucy/sweet rolls, which Samurai lacked. Great roll and was fresh, just would pick something else instead next time. The Rock n Roll felt like it was going to give me a heart attack, although I would’ve died happily from this delicious goodness! This was the last roll my boyfriend chose to order, of course it had to be a deep fried roll when my stomach was already nearing max capacity. Last but not least, don’t skip out on the dessert! We ordered a few things off the dessert menu to finish off the meal: fried banana along with green tea and mango ice cream. Recommend the fried banana and mango ice cream! Green tea was a bit grainy to my liking. Just a great AYCE sushi overall and will not disappoint!

Made to order all you can eat — my family and I were impressed by the menu selection — from hot appetizers to over two dozens of specialty rolls + sashimi — my family can eat but we had a hard time sampling even 1⁄3 of the menu! The rolls might look a bit overwhelming at first glance(full size) — but once you take a closer look, you’ll realize they are barely made of any rice. They are packed with yummy ingredients — unagi, avocado, shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, spicy conch just to name a few. Sashimi — I’ve never seen uni as part of all you can eat before! Not that I’m a fan of it but aren’t these things expensive? While my parents were a bit more adventurous + carried more of an expensive taste, I stuck to my usual: white tuna, hamachi, scallop — so fresh, so sweet! Appetizers — fried soft shell crabs + white tuna martini — just keep them coming! Desserts — red bean and green tea ice cream UNLIMITED? give me two of each please! I later learned that you can request them«fried». I inhaled too many bowls way too fast — my only regret dining at Sakura that night. Service was a bit slow especially between orders. It didn’t help that we were seated next to a huge group of hangry college kids. In addition, we learned that one wait staff is assigned per table so another wait staff might be wandering + free, she/he will NOT help you. It was a pain to wait specifically for our waitress to order and to even ask for water. Nevertheless, $ 20 for ayce with such vast variety and high quality, my family and I need to visit VA beach more often!

Service outstanding! Lunch selection was more than plenty for AYCE! We started with the ginger salad and seaweed salad both were great! Small but good quality. Volcano roll hit home, the Spicy girl was great for all my people who like deep fried rolls! My husband got the Boston and also the shrimp asparagus really good! Philly was also wonderful. Tuna sashimi and shrimp was fresh! We LOVED the shrimp tempura appetizer! That was delicious & ordered another one right after. We will drive from Norfolk to here. Cost and quality were on point, superb!
