Wonderful service. Love the sushi but my absolute favorite is the shumi(probably spelled wrong) great prices and it clean. It is small so can’t have a party but it’s perfect for date night or to bring a couple friends.

Always excellent service and fresh sushi. They also have excellent Japanese food if you’re not a sushi fan — I’m having the steak teriyaki tonight!

For the record, I’ve been to this establishment a few times now. and the service here definitely needs some work… Today I came here with my boss today for lunch, when we walked in we were told we could sit wherever we wanted, no problem there. I’ll give this lady who is always working the tables the benefit of the doubt, it’s some work to have to take orders, serve, sit down patrons, and clean up tables. But the attitude I experience EVERY.TIME. I’ve come here is the reason I usually deter anyone who mentions this place for lunch. Granted the food wasn’t bad, and they seem to have great specials. But going out to eat is not just about the food, it’s about the experience. Today my boss looked at me several times in disgust, after she asked a question about what she wanted to order and received attitude from the server. There were a few times she was still ordering and the server already walked away mid sentence… My boss apologized to me several times for coming here and I assured her I already knew what I was going to be dealing with.

This place was SOGOOD. My husband and I was a little weary once we showed up because there were no people there(we were literally the only ones), but I’m glad we went in. We both got sushi rolls, which were so good. I also got chicken fried rice and it was so BOMB! I would definitely go back again. Nice staff too.

Itty bitty place that I order from fairly regularly. Love the New York and Kiss Fire roll. They also serve a yummy fried ice cream. We usually do take out and it’s always ready fast. The owners are very sweet!

We went here for lunch, on a recommendation by a local while we were visiting VA Beach. It was amazing! The lunch specials were so reasonable and there was a lot of variety for lunch. This place is almost hidden in a nondescript building on Pacific Ave and you might pass it by… don’t give it a try! We are already planning on going back next time we are there! The service is great, the restaurant is extremely clean, and the food is fresh!

With all the sushi spots in Hampton Roads I seem to always make it back here throughout the years. Sakura is located on the corner of a small shopping strip off Virginia Beach Blvd. near Town Center. The restaurant is a bit narrow and seats maybe 50 people. The staff are super friendly and respectful. Quiet and low-key, perfect for a date-night destination. The prices are fair and the chefs are generous. I always order the«Heart Lover Roll»(spicy crab, shrimp tempura, avocado and white fish all wrapped in soy paper) The«Monster Roll» is also a favorite of mine. I have found better sushi and sashimi deals in VB but if you are near Town Center it is definitely worth a try!

Very clean, and tasty spot! I ordered the shrimp tempura which was fabulous. The old man at the front who greeted me was very kind, warm and welcoming. The lady seemed annoyed when I asked for an itemized receipt(for work expenses) because she had to hand write a ticket. She was a little rude and snippy after that! Other than that my experience was great!

Quiet sit down sushi bar, they will serve your sushi cravings. They have great sushi combinations on some of there specialty rolls. The combos will not be on the menu, you will have to read the slate chalk sign with the specials as soon as you walk in. The waitress did not tell us about the specials, but was still polite and attended to our sushi needs. The storefront was clean and not busy when i went(sunday around 8pm). Ordered a house salad with the ginger dressing(which was watery). Sushi rolls ordered was the heart lover, i was not expecting it to be so huge, very delicious. Monster roll was okay, drenched in mayo and eel sauce had to wipe some of it off, but still good. The Chesapeake was a good side, probably could have ordered it by itself and be satisfied. All in all good experience, but the menu is over priced for the type of rolls and standard service received. Id come here during lunch when they offer better discounts. $ 1.00 rolls during the weekdays.

I came during lunch time, around 12:15 or so, and ordered the American Dream roll, and the shrimp tempura. This was by far the WORST sushi I have ever had. The shrimp on top of the American Dream roll was overlooked and flavorless, the roll was poorly made and had little to no flavor… it’s supposed to have spicy crab, avocado, cream cheese, and spicy tuna. I could barely taste the little dab of cream cheese they put inside the roll. The shrimp tempura roll was flavorless as well. Then to top it off, they doused both rolls with some kind of watery sauce that made the rolls super soggy. I must’ve come at a bad time, or something, because this restaurant got a lot of good views. Either way, never coming here again in the lunch time!

The best sushi spot. It’s definitely a hole in the wall, but the prices and sushi is to die for. I recommend the soho roll, volcano, and chefs special. If you’re not a fan of sushi, I would recommend the shrimp or chicken fried rice. The workers here are very welcoming and will remember you always. Go!!!

Food was good. Costumer service is verybad. They were not busy. Nobody was in the restaurant except us. No water or tea refills. And she asked me if i want soup or salad with my order that i thought it comes with it. But no she did not inform me it doesnt. Plus when we were still eating she gave us bill right away. Like she was in a hurry. Bad service

Was a little nervous as the outside of the building liked kinda sketch. The inside and God however made all that disappear. Lovely little sushi place with excellent food.

Def. my new sushi spot. Fresh fish and good priced specialty rolls. $ 1 sushi pieces and $ 5 big hot sakes. I’m sold. Just crushed some sushi and sake for like $ 18 bucks!

They have average sushi, but still not better than Nara sushi. The quality of fish was the biggest factor when I say average. We didn’t have much to complain about other than price. A regular California roll that you’d find anywhere else for no more than 5 or 6 bucks was over 7 which tells how much other rolls were. Over all, had way worse but have had so much better.

Ordered takeout tonight and as usual Sakura doesn’t disappoint! Our order was: 1. Seaweed Salad 2. Volcano Roll 3. Pembroke Roll 4. Chesapeake Roll(my personal favorite) 5. California Roll(I ordered this cut into small pieces for a 5 year old) Everything was fresh and delicious! A great dinner, I was so glad my husband suggested sushi for dinner. Our son can’t get enough sushi and is a regular when we go to the restaurant to eat. If this is your first time at Sakura(for lunch) I recommend the Chef Special Lunchbox. For $ 8 you will walk out FULL!

I’ve been to this place numerous times, they have great specials aside from the $ 1 sushi, they often offer two larger rolls such as a volcano and chefs special roll(delicious) which would normally be $ 20 down to $ 14 for both or a larger roll and a medium sized roll for about ten bucks. They know me and what I like to order… so I guess I probably come here more often than I’d like to admit(it’s worth it though) the restaurant is clean, kind of small, the food is consistently good, and the staff are pretty friendly, definitely give this place a try of you’re close.

This may be the best sushi I have had in Virginia Beach. Their fish was soft and fresh. The rice was cooked well. The teriyaki sauce was delicious. The ginger dressing was amazing. However, to clarify, they only have a few select sushi pieces that are $ 1 a piece such as the tuna, salmon, etc. Their specialty rolls with avocado/etc. are typically priced($ 4-$ 16 a roll). This is a hole in the wall in a small strip mall with delicious sushi. Don’t judge this book by its cover. Give them a try!
