Didn’t love the beer or the atmosphere. Just wasn’t my vibe. That said, they had a nice space, if you like hoppy beer, give it a try! Location not great but a skip away from YVBC so hit up both!

Wow. I’ve been busy and hanging out on Shore drive more– had forgotten how damn good the beer here is! Grave error in judgement. Their sours are the bomb! I will get back to weekly visitation.

Great bar! The selection was good and it’s always changing, based on availability. Stouts are always a go to for me. Their Nitro was very good, just hate having to wait for the 5 minutes to let it settle! You can bring your own food or eat at the food truck, if you’re lucky enough to come on a day they are there!

Came here on a Wednesday night with a couple friends. Pretty chill vibe. Bartender, Shaun is pretty cool. Really good beers on tap at a very affordable price. I had a beer called«Fire at Sea» which was pretty good especially for you coffee lovers. This place is not too far from where I live(landstown/TCC area) right off dam neck rd. I recommend this place to people who have never tried it out! Definitely will continue coming here.

I am almost always willing to give a business another try after not being thrilled by an inital visit. My previous review was on par, to a little below in my mind based off service. I was so glad that I did get back after a year to give them another spin. I picked a slow middle to the week Wednesday around 5:30PM to check them out for a second go around. The lot had a few cars and no food truck which was disappointing since I was starved. However, I get it with regards to support the business. I also could have looked this up, so I am not holding this against the business at all. I stepped in to around a half dozen enjoying brews and decided to pony up to the bar. However, with no menus I was back up looking at the menu board and discussed with bartender Shawn. I sampled three recommended based off my taste of darker, more robust ales. My eventual choice was a yum American Strong Ale named Veriest Rogue. When he says strong believe it son! At 13.5% the brewer was sneaky about pushing the envelope and no way would you guess that high of an ABV. The waffling smell of cognac is at the nose immediately. The taste has this super delicious flavor that carries it. Since I was starved and was drinking a strong beer on an empty stomach I needed to rectify the situation. Reaver does carry Cape Cod chips and Daddy G salsa. I ordered that up immediately and trashed the whole bag myself. The salsa was a medium and had a good kick and was darn good. Shawn really worked the bar and I could tell most, if not all were regulars. He remained responsive to anything I may need, but I told him one beer and I was going to be out. I did ask for a water which comes from the tap, they have no bottle for purchase. I really felt comfortable on this visit and enjoyed the vibe. I am thrilled to make it back and can’t wait to return. Maybe I can even get lucky and meet the famous Steven A. who is a super regular.

My favorite brewery in the Beach. There staff are welcoming and awesome to talk to. I always leave this placed pretty turnt/messed up. I like how they added a TV to displace there menu. They always have different varieties of beer to order. The people that come here give off a friendly vibe. Come here to grab a few brews or refill a growler! Just keepin it real y’all.

Reaver Beach Brewing Company is good! They had a large collection of beers on tap, which was impressive. In particular, they had 2 sour beers on tap, which are my favorite, so I was very pleased with that. The service was good, and the place wasn’t too crowded. The tap room opens at 4, and when we entered at 4:30, there were only about 5 people there. However, by 5:30, the place was busier, and there were about 25 people total, but it was never too crowded. I came with my mother, and unfortunately, she found the stools to be too uncomfortable. There was a couch alternative, but it sits really far back from the table and isn’t particularly useful because of that. I’ve been to other breweries with board games or cards available, and I think that would be nice here, too. Overall, I recommend, especially if you like sour beers!

I came in with my girlfriend and her friends and I was very impressed with everything. They had pint glasses for $ 2, and a stout on Nitro. It was delicious as well as most of their other beers. All in all-a great Brewery that focuses on true craftsmanship. Also, was conned into beer bath soap. Interesting smells and after smells.

Very small tasting room with good opening hours, nestled in a warehouse industrial zone outside of VA Beach. Ample free parking. Only room inside for about 6 – 8 people. 5 Taps on when I was there. You can get a flight of 4 at a time. Beer quality was average to slightly above average. The DIPA and RIS were both very nice. The Berliner and others quite odd with the Altbier lacto infected. They sold two bottles to go, their DIPA and a one-off BA Barleywine. Growler fills as well as keg sales. Staff was I guess not so interested in chatting with us or seemingly not very happy to have us there despite us being 2 of 4 people inside the crammed space. The staff — I figured out from reading the newspaper articles on the walls — were the husband/wife owners and brewers it seems. Overall, the Reaver Beach Brewing stuff was hard to find in bottles around town and was barely on tap anywhere in the vicinity, so this was really the only way to try their stuff. Prices were good– $ 5 for 4 sample flight and $ 3 – 5 a full glass pour. You can do 64oz growler fills or 32oz «grenade» fills.

This place is awesome, clearly a set up that was worth duplicating by other businesses near by. Visited yesterday and the bar tender, the irish guy, held the door open for me while I pushed a stroller in. Thanks man!

A must stop brewery if your are in the area. The Hoptopus is amazing, so good! I’ve never had any issue with the service here as some have mentioned. My biggest regret of RB Brewing is that I am not a local, I live on the other side of the country, follow them on Facebook and am always sad to be missing out on the fun and deliciousness that this brewery pumps out.

Had a great time here over the weekend! The hubs and I stopped in for a couple of flights. When I say a couple of flights, I mean we each had two flights. Why not try all of them, right?! The place was buzzing(pun intended) while we were there, but not overly packed, so we were able to cop a squat at a table. We took our time sampling our beer and chatting with people as they came and went. We even watched Rocky on the bar TV, LOL. Good times! There wasn’t a single beer we didn’t like. Even left with a few filled growlers to enjoy at home. Kudos on some fine beer, guys!

Strike three. Not going back. Service is terrible. I get it, you’re not a bar, you’re a Tasting Room. The attitude I got this weekend solidified my decision to give up the delicious Hoptopus. You were the first brewery in the area I frequented and where I bought my first growler, plus the growlers I gifted a few friends. The other place opened up, I immediately gravitated to them because of the absolute friendliness and professionalism of the proprietors and staff. When I went back to «Reaver Beach» to have a beer, get a growler refill, and enjoy whatever food offering was there, I would constantly hear some sort of snide remark or barb about their neighbor brewers. What the hell people, you should be embracing the budding beer business blowing up in this area, you should be partnering with your fellow brewers down the road and coming up with some more interesting beers. But NOooo, your tasting room«brewmasters» have nothing else to do but talk crap about the brewer[ies] down the road. Welcome to town Green Flash, goodbye Beaver Beach. I gave a second star for The Hoptoptus, God rest its soul.

Such a fun hangout spot for a weekend afternoon. I love the beer here. Many options besides the beloved IPAs that seem to be trending now. The mega jenga game is a great way to have fun and drink some good local beer!

Best brewery in va beach. Awesome manager. We talked everything from super heroes to football to local eats and breweries. The beet was ridiculous delicious and wonderfully priced. A definite must for beer enthusiasts. Hopefully they will make a collaboration with Richmond midnight Brewery.

Amazing place. The few bad reviews not deserved. These folks were true pioneers out there in an industrial park wasteland. They worked hard to make it happen and go way out of their way to make EVERYONE feel special. Ever read The Little Engine That Could? They can and did.

Oh man oh man. I have no idea what I have been doing for the last 4 years I have lived in Virginia Beach. This place… is fantastic! Went in here for the first time due to a referral from a buddy at work. We got to talking about beer and IPAs. He then showed me a picture of their«Hoptopus» on Instagram and mentioned how fantastic it is. After a quick dinner with the wife it was just a quick detour on the way home and the wife and I both agreed a nice stop for an after dinner refreshment was needed. Punched the place into my GPS and we were off! When I drove up to the place it looked like a warehouse(which makes sense being that it’s a brewery). Upon entering the door we arrived into a dimly lit bar. We were immediately greeted by the bartender as we approached. There were only about five people in the place at the time. I informed him that it was my first time in there and that I had been referred by a friend to try the Hoptopus. He winced and informed me that they were not currently serving it as it was being set aside for bottling the following day. But never fear! He immediately started rambling off the seven choices that they did have available, including their award winning«Ghost Ship» IPA. I immediately knew that was what I wanted. I can’t remember what my wife ordered because I was too blown away by the Ghost Ship. One of the best craft brews I have ever had! The bartender then started talking to us as if we had been friends for years. Telling me his story about finding a place to live in the area. I usually would be a bit uncomfortable with this, but the environment was just right and I felt so at home in the place that I didn’t mind one bit. We rambled on with each other for about 10 minutes and next thing you know I looked down and my beer was gone! I had downed it. Amazing. I sat there and talked with the bartender for about 10 more minutes as I waited for my wife to finish, then paid, and we carried on about our day. As we got into the car to leave, my wife and I looked at each other with dumbfounded looks on our faces. We said at just about the same time: «how have we not been here???» In conclusion, amazing beer, friendly atmosphere, well worth your time(ecspecially if you are a craft beer lover as I am).

Came here for our first visit Saturday. Tried out the sampler flight and thought overall beer was above average. Atmosphere was great with lots of games and locals. Setup of the place was cool and even though it was crowded, were still able to find a seat without any trouble. Would definitely recommend hitting this place and Young Veterans Brewery(across the street) on a Saturday afternoon as a one-two punch.

I apologize for a little bit of a stale review… but not everyone can be Bruce K. My visit took place in early October after first hitting up another place within a half mile that was too jammed. I have been watching check in after check in of my friend Steven A. and knew I needed to get over there even though it was a hike. So it happen to be I was in the area on a warm Friday night and seized the moment. Parking was in a nice lot with what seemed to be plenty of room. No debris in sight The building is akin to a pull barn, nothing fancy at all. The Beach Brewing sign on the building is the indication that you have arrived in a location for beer and not storage. I did not read the reviews prior to my visit. Just a thing I like to do to not cloud judgement. In this case I should have, because I was starved and learned they had no food. But luckily there was an awesome food truck named Hashi that I now follow around town. I went inside and found it pretty full, but not packed. Plenty of seats were at the bar. Three to four bartenders were in their tasting room behind the counter. There is no service at the tables. The varieties of beer is listed on the wall. I waited for a good while to be waited on when the bartenders were not busy at the time. I have no idea why they did not make there way down to help me. I finally had to say something and they guy was a little rude, so not a good start. I cannot now recall what I had now, it’s been too long. But it was good, not great. A small party arrived almost as soon as I got my beer and the same bartender waited on them. The guy also thought he was an ass and I said nothing to him. What seemed to be a huge his was there walk out Growler business. It seemed like preferential treatment was given to there folks when ever they walked up over anyone else. I have never personally bought a Growler, but the concept works well if you like their beer and can get it on the cheap. The place is not huge, maybe 60 max could fit in. There are tables and a few couches. During the warmer months having a food truck makes a big difference. Food + additional seating. The area was clean, the walls had a variety of wall hangings to which made it interesting. There are some games around to pull out too. Overall just not really impressed and not a fan due to rude service. No hurt feelings to those that love it. The food truck probably elevated the review to tell the truth. However, I need to go back and give them a second shot and hopefully bump them up. It may have just been an off night.

I was super thirsty for beer flight. I went to Newport News for St. George and found they are close on Sun. I was really careless. I drove another 1hr to get here. The staff is super friendly. I was too indecisive and he gave me one free sample. Cheers! They have 8 kinds of beer now. You can choose 4 for a flight. I’m not drunk but I forget how much it is. Oh $ 5! Cool bar top, cool wall, cool guys, so many cool things here! I’ll come back here again soon;)

the best brewery in town! not only do they have the best beer(trust me… i have yet to try a beer brewed by Justin that i didn’t like) but they also have awesome staff! Sean and Jeremy are hilarious and so nice, and Kristen is so welcoming! the atmosphere is awesome… plenty of seating inside and out and you can even bring your pet if you sit outside! they do a great happy hour on two Fridays of the month and beer is a dollar off, so you can get some of their pints for only $ 3! they also have a different cask almost every Saturday and delicious food trucks Fri-Sun. definitely a must try if you are visiting or from the area.

Hoptopus is my favorite local IPA, so when I saw that they were having a lil 4th of July shindig with live music my bf & I headed there to check out the place. The tasting room is really nice & was a cool place to sip yummy beer while escaping the summer heat for a bit. I’m not sure if it was just the 4th or it’s normally this way, but the place was packed! They had a food truck, cupcake truck, bounce house for the lil ones, corn hole, & a great band set up outside. I’m happy that VB has a cool brewery to hang at!

The breakfast stout«Morning Breath» is delicious! Too bad it was a one-and-done. I hope it comes back! They constantly have a new batch of something interesting in the back. On the weekends they have a food truck and it brings in a large crowd. Most brews are $ 4. The now have THEKRAKEN. It’s a Triple IPA that has a nice punch to it. They have a shirt for it as well. The growler prices are close to $ 15 and grenades are about $ 7 depending on the brew. They have snifters and pint glasses for sale for $ 5. There’s a punch card program here too.
