I love this salon! Everyone is so nice, and the stylist are all amazing. Get my hair cut and colored here regularly and always love it. I’ve also had waxing done here and the girls are awesome. The salon itself it so pretty, beautifully decorated. Can’t wait to go back! Prices are reasonable as well. You get a lot for your money.

We recently started going to Utopia again and the improvements made in their massage waiting area were wonderful. The massage itself was relaxing and the price was reasonable! They have really improved in the massage area since I was last their 7 years ago.

I’ve been coming here for massage for a few years now. I’ve also been here for manicures and an eyebrow wax before… the manis are fine, the eyebrow wax was great, it was almost painless and I was very happy. Although I remember once when I was getting a manicure downstairs, one of the girls kept running down to reset the fuse box because the blow dryers upstairs kept tripping the breaker LOL! I mainly come here for massage. I get massages on a regular basis, have been to several places in the area, and Utopia is my favorite. I can normally schedule an appointment with ease, and availability is usually not a problem. The therapists are all very skilled and polite. They are friendly but also allow you to relax and be quiet without a lot of talking. The facilities are better than before, they re-did some of the upstairs«relaxation area» and the massage rooms. My massage table was heated and the height was automatically adjustable. The music was perfectly relaxing, not too loud or distracting. One of the rooms faces East Ave, so traffic noise in that particular room might be distracting. Also the floors creak sometimes as the therapist moves around the room. However, I don’t think any of that is an absolute deal-breaker…I would still rather come to Utopia than be harassed about a membership at Hand and Stone! Utopia is a relaxing, convenient, reasonably-priced place to get a great massage! Plus, once you get into their system, they will send you a birthday discount every year, good for products and services!

I had a 90 minute hot stone massage with Kelly Ann over the weekend. It was a great experience and, thankfully, it erased all memory of my lackluster experience at Hand And Stone recently. I heard no noise this visit.

Utopia is a quaint little house-turned-spa with lots of charm. They have definitely put a lot of work into making you literally feel at home and comfortable. I thought this place was the best years ago. This review is for a facial and/or massage: When you check in the receptionist has you wait in a room until called. Once seated, you are able to sit and help yourself to hot tea, coffee, and an assortment of cookies or biscuits. This room is also used to store additional hair products that are for sale. Once your masseuse or aesthetician is ready, you follow them to a room. They give you a few moments to yourself, allowing you to disrobe and get under blankets. When they are back in the room, they begin. They put on music and you begin to zone out. Depending on the service they do not speak to you. It is at this point where I begin to have a problem: First, no matter the service being received, the house, although small and charming, is very old. Thus, when people walk around, you hear the old wooden floorboards(only some areas covered in carpet). Because there are many other clients getting different services done, there is tons of traffic in and out both levels of the house; the noise is incessant. The rooms upstairs are where you receive your facials and massages. It is also where the woman have their break room. There are two massage rooms within the break room! The break room is basically a kitchen. The woman are aware they have to be quiet, but they are also on limited time, so you will hear hear them. I cannot thoroughly enjoy my massage while I hear people walking around the house and floorboards creaking. I also not not relax when I hear women laughing and dishes going into the sink. To me this is not professional. Also, the massage itself was poor in quality. If I ask for a deep tissue, don’t give me a swedish because you don’t think I can’t handle it! Last but not least, my facial. The aesthetician gives mediocre facials. but she smokes cigarettes. You know how I can tell? I smell it on her hands as she is rubbing those same hands and fingers all over my face… it is foul. I should have known it was going to happen because her voice sounds like she has been smoking two packs of cigarettes for her entire life. I used to love this place years ago when I was young and didn’t know about Red Door Spa and how close New York was. Now, I know better. I’m never coming here again.

I got a pedicure and eyebrow waxing today. First, the good. Becky did my eyebrow waxing and they came out great, much better than where I was going before. Now the bad. The pedicure was horrible. I explained to the technician that I have very curved toenails and she needed to cut them in the corners or they would hurt. She didn’t. She also ignored my callouses and didn’t cut my nails short enough. My feet look almost as rough and dry as when I went in. She was a very nice girl, just seemed young and inexperienced. I’ll be going elsewhere for my pedicures.
