Went in there late on a thu evening. @915pm very Clair to closing. Service was excellent, they did not rush is even though we were the only ones left. The food also did not feel rushed. It was cooked well the lamb kabob we ordered was well spiced, a tad bit on dry side… But no complaints. Also ordered the bread basket got a nice bhatura… Overall a good experience. Would revisit, maybe at an earlier time. Ordered two appetizers. A fish was nice and spicy but a little salty though.

We ordered bhel and chili paneer for appetizer and the chili paneer was $ 6.99 and we got four small cubes of paneer, probably the tiny container had like 2 spoons of chili paneer. Seriously? Charging 6.99 for two spoons? I will not go back here.

Good food! But over priced and also they are very slow! It took them 30 min to being the food. Took us 10 min to eat. Took them 20 min for the check! I don’t think I’m coming back. Thanks

Great food. Ordered the chicken tikka masala and naan. Not as spicy as I would have liked but the flavor was there. Restaurant has a strange layout but it was clean and well taken care of. Waiter was very informative and offered several good suggestions. Brother wanted to get the vegetable kofta but they had sold out earlier in the day. Ended up with the paneer tikka masala and greatly enjoyed it. The rice portions aren’t very big but the food was delicious.

Don’t get the lamb. It was cold/overcooked/just plain weird. We got it as part of a combination platter and we left the lamb untouched. The pakoras were awful. The saag paneer was bland but it was pretty much the only edible thing that day. Everything else was very questionable. We left completely dissatisfied and out $ 40.

I’ve never walked away disappointed. Well, that’s not entirely true. Whenever I show up for brunch I’m hoping for the goat curry and sometimes… it’s fish curry in its place. Fortunately it’s pretty good fish curry :) I do appreciate that they have bhel puri as a starter — a rare find in Indian restaurants around here and great way to open up the palate. Overall I’d say the dishes are«very flavorful» but have yet to run into anything that packs *quite* enough of a punch from a spiciness perspective.

Firstly, I have to say that it was my first time having Indian food, so I haven’t had any idea how Indian curry and food would taste like. Being curiosity and as a lamp curry lover, I had lamp curry, roasted chicken, garlic flavor breads, and some cookies with green sauce which restaurant invited(ps. I don’t know what is it called,). The overall taste is okay, or maybe I am used to Japanese or South East Asian type of curry, I don’t recommend for those people who think that the taste will be similar to the curry they used to have. But for those who want to have an exotic meal, you must try! By the way, their rice is biryani really different from Taiwan or even South East Asia one I like to return turmeric. :)

I love Indian food and I was pleased with the food at Tumeric. I stopped by for lunch based on previous Unilocal reviews and was not disappointing. Because it was lunch, there was only the lunch buffet but the selection was very good. Besides the normal Tandoori and Butter chicken that you find at all other Indian restaurants, they had black lentils, goat, and eggplant dishes. The bread that came with the meal was hot and very fresh. The Tandoori chicken was some the best I have ever had. My only complaint was the service. The waiter that sat me didn’t even offer to get me a drink and just deposited water at the table(had to stop another waiter and order chai). The other small issue was the tables they have for one or two people. I noticed that most single tables are crammed against partition walls leading to a slightly cramped dining experience. However, all in all not a bad lunch. Give it a try

The food was quite savory and well prepared. We had chicken vindaloo, chicken tikka masala and lamb saag. We also started the meal with vegetable samosas. They were light and perfectly prepared. We will definitely return for another meal

I was craving Indian food and decided to try Turmeric. I thought it was a carry out but turned out to be so much more. The restaurant is lovely and the staff was extremely friendly. I had chicken tikka and baingan bharta and it was delicious!!! So glad I went there and hope to return soon!!!

This cozy and unassuming Indian place has now become our favorite date night spot in Vienna. You really can’t go wrong in choosing to dine at this restaurant; the service is friendly and attentive, the ambiance is calm and romantic and the food is sumptuous and warms your belly and heart! I always alternate between Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken and T’s go to is Lamb Vindaloo. The curries are always fresh and satisfying. I would highly recommend this neighborhood gem!

Good food, decent service and likely the better option for Indian food locally. I give this place a thumbs up!

Food is authentic and tastes good. Naan is a highlight: it’s fluffy and buttery. Service is the biggest issue — one time we didn’t get one of our naans until we asked a waiter about it. Food sometimes comes out lukewarm. Doesn’t seem to be a system of which waiter handles which tables — you see various people throughout your meal. Interior has bad acoustics — sound echoes and you can easily hear other patrons’ conversations, even if they’re at the opposite end of the dining area.

More like 3.5 stars. Overall good but seem like some of the food was not as fresh. Orange chicken was very good. We went there for buffet. There are fewer options compared to other places such as Jaipur. Ambiance is pretty good.

Great variety of Punjab, Kashmir, Dehli and other Indian favorites, Turmeric is an unremarkable NoVa strip-mall restaurant with solid food. Reasonably priced, dimly lit and suitable for adult conversation, we enjoyed a weekday dinner here. Full bar, right. But I wasn’t exactly delighted with my so-called premium gin martini bcos it was kinda weak, at $ 7.50 not expensive. Maybe a case of you-get-what-you-pay-for. Or maybe just shaken with too much ice. A short pour too, definitely didn’t attempt to fill the glass. Menu choices include many grilled meats, curries and thalis. I love to sample so ordered a standard thali which came with a zillion little dishes: eggplant(baingan bartha), spinach(saag paneer), dal, lamb in red curry sauce, raita, 5 leaves of lettuce, rice, pickles and even a bit of sweet rice pudding. The pudding was a new one on me. Spinach was not creamy saucy but instead fresh and light, an interesting variation. And the puri in the middle was almost the size of my head! Not kidding go check out the picture. Very fairly priced at $ 16. But another miss was the heat. We ordered extra spicy. My learned colleague asked to be set on fire. The man promised Indian spice levels! Either the kitchen was in a bad mood or they read the ticket upside down, IDK, but what arrived was barely seasoned. All veg dishes mild-mild, the lamb had a vague sense of heat, definitely did not meet expectations. Vegetarian rating: typical of Indian places, 5 stars for the many standard choices including veg samosa, dal, eggplant, veggie korma, paneer kadai, saag paneer and saag chana, mixed veg biriani, etc etc. Service was friendly but slow, on a quiet evening with most tables empty the food took a while to come out, also we had to flag the man down for water, etc. Maybe it’s better at lunch? Our meal was AOK but sure as fire didn’t live up to the many exuberant 5-star ratings here on Unilocal

Great lunch buffet and a great value too at under $ 10 a person. I really like the décor of this place as it is contemporary with classy touches of modern Indian art. I really liked the food here and they had great variety. Unfortunately, I don’t know the names of all the delicious stuff I had but it was really good. My favorites include the«spinachy-corn» dish, the butter chicken and the fish dish. The complementary bread(is it naan?) was delicious but deadly as I nearly inhaled the entire basket. The desserts was good too. There was a cardamom beet dish and a rice noodle sweet soup concoction which different but good too. Only had a little bit of each but was a nice finish to a meal! Will return again! Yum!

— Ambiance nice, slightly romantic — Food quality is above average(juice, perfectly grilled salmon and chicken, good naan, and perfectly balanced mango lassi). The butter chicken was great too. However, I would hold on ordering dessert. The rice pudding is wayyyyy toooooo sweeeetttt… Of you are craving for desert go next door and get a crêpe :) — Service is great(very quite Saturday night though) Complain: way too cold inside at winter

I’m seriously hating myself for being a Vienna resident for over 10 years but only to have discovered this place recently. I’ve wanted to try this place for sometime, but the thought of having to sit through Maple Ave traffic to get here has always discouraged me from making this trip. So where better else to go spontaneously while driving through Maple Ave? Turmeric! What a wise choice! Good quality food and excellent service at a very reasonable price of $ 12/pp on weekends. Not to mention the place is clean and has really nice decors. At $ 9.99 weekday buffet, this may become my goto spot for lunch when I work from home now on.
