I seen the episode on Chicago’s Best and thought I would give the place a try. I had the Calzone Gyros. To be honest it was nasty, I really wasted my money. I would have been better of going to a place that specializes in gyros. There meat seen like the meat you get from in sliced out of a box. I am use to my gyro having some burnt edges. They gave me too many tomatoes and I was finished. Hope this place can improve on making a gyro.

Location is hidden away in this strip mall but when you find it, its like a gem because its comfort food and its finest. They make variations of the classic macaroni and cheese. They also serve calzones. Everything is big portions and delicious.

This place is amazing! I have tried almost everything on the menu and am never disappointed. The calzones are full of flavor and never ever greasy. My son swears by the lobster Mac and cheese. Definitely plan to eat here many more times in the future!

I think for the price Calzone and Macaroni Company is great. It really hits the spot when you’re in the mood for cheesy, warm, comfort food. I love how everything is made fresh and you can watch them make it and put it in the oven. When they are busy and you’re waiting for a carry out I suggest calling ahead as there have been times I’ve waited awhile for my food. I’ve tried many different macaroni items and they never disappoint. My favorite is the broccoli bacon mac. Calzones have never been my favorite and their’s are decent. They are a little too much dough and not enough cheese for me. Salads and wraps are also very good and fresh. I haven’t tried the soups or the waffle bar. Staff is always friendly. My family and I eat here often and are always satisfied!

Solid player in the area. Good food, decent prices, nice selection and very friendly staff. Calzone’s have the right mix of dough/flavor/texture and filling. Good variety of pasta dishes to choose from — creamy, tasty and tangy. Not a bland pile of mush that Panera offers. The only challenge — their chopped salad is NOT chopped. Outside of that — this place is very good.

Aaaaamazing food fest. Got the«snacker» calzone and Mac n’ cheese combo. Such great options — it was hard to decide. Finally selected the broccoli, bacon, and cheddar mac n’ cheese with the Italian calzone. Everything is made to order so you can customize exactly what you want, too. I planned to eat half of the Mac n’ cheese, but kept taking just one more bite of the cheesy, salty deliciousness until it was all gone. Goodby diet, but so worth it. The calzone was oozy, cheesy, and packed full of yumminess. This is not health food people, but if you’re looking for a casual setting and a filling, tasty meal then you will love it.

We go for lunch a lot with work. Goat cheese flat bread is good but sometimes they put too much oil on it.

I saw this on Chicago’s Best and couldn’t wait to try the lobster Mac and cheese. Eh. It was good, but not excellent. There was a fair amount of lobster for the price, I suppose. But it wasn’t that. It was more the flavor or quality of the cheese as compared to the lobster. Just kinda fell short of my expectations. I’d probably go again to try something else, so I certainly don’t hate it.

I liked the food, value, and concept! This is a nice alternative to the area pizza and burger joints or neighboring Portillos. Plenty of stuff to try on the menu that will keep me coming back. Had the Snacker combo which is a pretty good sized meal with choice of mini calzone and mini mac n’ cheese. Includes a drink for about $ 11. A good value and enough to stuff me and my toddler.(Skipped the kids menu which would have added another $ 6) The Buffalo Chicken Calzone had a nice crispy crust, zesty buffalo sauce, and oozing with cheese. The chicken was moist and tender. I didn’t know comes with marinara sauce which I thought was a weird option for buffalo chicken. I recommend adding an extra order of buffalo sauce for dipping or ask if they can swap out the marinara. Ordered the Mediterranean Mac N’ Cheese which baked hot with the feta and other cheeses crusted over. Also had spinach and other veggies. Everything good with this. The service is good in this modest 40 seater. It’s tucked in a corner of the Hobby Lobby shopping center so you have to know to look for it. Inside is comfortable but looks like it could uses a good detailing for some sparkle and shine. Nice to have metal forks and knives but only one mega napkin dispenser where you pick up the food. Cool to see the bright red Forno stone oven with fire inside. 4– Food 4– Service 3– Dining environment 4– Value

wasn’t gonna write a review. but I saw some other guy find hair in his food so I figured I should back that up. I didn’t even want to say anything cause it was gross. it was in the macaroni. and it was the lobster one so I paid three extra dollars for that one. i drove an hour to this place cause I saw it on the tv. oh and the lobster bisque was salty. iv never had that anywhere before so maybe it’s supposed to be that way. overall without the hair the food was ok. the lobster in the Mac seemed skimpy. and I got the meat lover calzone. I don’t know. it didn’t have much love.

I got to know about this place through a tv show and decided to pay a visit and try their much appreciated mac & cheese. I got a snacker combo so that I can have both– calzone & macaroni and I must mention that it’s simply awesome. The quantity is really good and you’re sure to take boxes to go even if you order a snacker combo. Oh and they have three racks of sauces — mild, hot n super hot… pick the bottle u like n get it to your table

Very clean restaurant. Cute set up, complimented with great music! The portions were huge for the price. I could barely finish the calzone, but I managed to come through. :’) The Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. I wanted to bathe in a tub of it. I got the snacker combo for around $ 10 – 11 which is average for a meal at a restaurant. I would definitely recommend coming here!

A fine place to check out if you want some tasty mac n cheese catered to your tastes! Great that they offer gluten-free options as well; I do not have Celiacs, but have a couple of friends who do, and they both give this place two thumbs up! Haven’t tried the calzones yet, but my BF has and he enjoys them. The employees are always nice and patient while you look over their large menu; there’s a lot to choose from! You do have a wait a bit for your food, but of course they make your meal to order so it makes sense. There has been a time or two though where I found my mac n cheese to be luke-warm in the middle… probably should have stayed in the oven a little while longer. I’m definitely willing to wait a bit longer if it means my food is heated the whole way through. :) Also worth noting: the large mac and cheese is HUGE! I can get 3 meals out of that, easy! Quite delicious, and worth trying! Ben Wyatt would be proud!

Found this place via Unilocal while we were in the area looking for a place to eat. The cashier, I believe his name is Erick, suggested that we try the snacker combo since it was our first time at this restaurant. It was a great idea! I ordered the Veggie calzone and the Hibachi Chicken macaroni and both were delicious! I believe it was about $ 11 for the combo and it includes a drink. I love the fact that their food is cooked to order. The staff seemed friendly enough and the restroom was also clean which is always a plus for me! My mom ordered the Buffalo Chicken calzone and Veggie macaroni. The Buffalo chicken was also delish and very tasty but the veggie mac was just ok. It was a little bland. Well, aren’t all«healthier» stuff(veggies) always are? :) There were quite a few TV screens as well. A good distraction while waiting for your order. This place is worth a visit if you haven’t been. We are definitely coming back!

Let’s see. Type of restaurant? Fast-food upgraded. Grading standard? Fast-food. In other words, how’d they do in that category? I had the Italian calzone which was an unimaginative choice by me. They have a number of choices, but you can build your own too. For the Italian, the dough was nicely browned, the pie a good combination of pepperoni, onions and mushroom.(The pepperoni should have been spread out, but all the slices were sitting in a stack). I ordered a small and it was generous for one person. I’ve wavered between 3 and 4 stars, but it’s a 4 – in the specific category. Comfortable setting for a relatively quickly served, hot tasty Italian dish.

Holy crap. These portions are huge. Like«how is it possible to eat this much» huge. But you can. And you probably will. Because it is THAT good. Sidenote: Is Ben Wyatt in charge of this place? Everything here is delicious. Our family ordered 3 calzones and 2 different macaronis and they were all amazing. It’s also an incredible deal, as it doesn’t cost that much for a smaller portion calzone, which is plenty for 1 person. Great addition to Vernon Hills, and I cant wait to try it again!

I am sorry, but after my second visit; I am not sure I will be making a return. The calzones are large and for $ 12 they should be; as that is basically the cost of a decent size pizza. The taste was nothing special and there was virtually no sauce inside the calzone. Actually there wasn’t much inside the calzone but cheese. We had the beef and philly cheesesteak calzones and both lacked any decent portion of beef and veggies(on the cheesesteak). Basically it was a greasy cheese filled dough pocket. Service was ok, but place just before 1pm on a weekday only had a few patrons. I wish them the best of luck, but seems they are cutting corners to make $. Maybe part of that is to offset lack of volume, but in either case: if they put about 50 cents worth of beef in each one we ordered; it would have been more a satisfying experience. The place has TVs and service was pretty good. The cashier said that they are offering a small calzone as a special for $ 6(reg price $ 7.99), which was not on the board.
