Great food but even greater service! Cashier was very friendly and on top of my order. Will come here again soon. Strongly recommend.

I really want to like this place. The prior owner had a pretty good thing going, but then it must have been bought out by someone else and the business has certainly lost something. I went their about two weeks ago and thought it was okay, but figured they were still working out the kinks. But I went today and it was a really bad experience. The employees are nice enough, but they really don’t know how to manage the workload. There was a total of three orders when I was there and three people behind the counter and one cook. It should have been really easy. I ordered a Dirty Chai and a scone. Sometimes, new employees don’t know what a Dirty Chai is and they then ask what I mean(it is a chai latte with a shot of espresso). The employee who served me didn’t waver when I ordered it, so I thought she knew what I ordered. So, 20 minutes pass until I get my scone and they start working on my drink. Remember, there were only two other orders at this time. I get the scone and the employee asks me what kind of milk I want, after 20 minutes of waiting. I say I don’t really care. She froths some milk, pours it into a cup, then dumps some cold chai liquid on top of it. She misjudged how much milk to pour in, so instead of dumping out some of the milk or, God forbid, making me another drink, she pours about half of the recommended chai tea into my frothed milk. Also, she neglected the shot of espresso. So, I end up with a Dirty Chai that is neither dirty and barely a Chai. After waiting 20 minutes. At a point when they aren’t busy. I really want to support local businesses and I have a feeling that the owner is trying her best(I’m assuming it is the middle-aged woman I see behind the counter ever time I go in there), but they really make it difficult. I should have just gone to Caffrodite in the first place. All the best to you Midtown. I won’t be coming back soon.

Just found this little place today! Went to the lab for some blood work and the Midtown Café was right next door. The place had a great vibe, and I was surprised I hadn’t been in before! Everything is locally and organically made, which is a plus, and their coffee and scones were delicious. Definitely going back soon, to try their breakfast sandwiches and fresh squeezed orange juice.

Good food 1 out of 10 times. Incompetent staff doesn’t even know the menu and always messes up even simple orders. Have gotten rotten veggies and avocado several times and very inconsistent. Also have had several friends that work there that say they cook«vegan» orders right on the meat stovetop. I’ve tried it several times so they can try and redeem but they continue to disappoint.

I had to take my mom to quest for lab work and I noticed this café next door. I was hungry and impatiently waiting for quest so I decided to stroll in. It was in middle of lunch hour, but there were only a few customers and nobody in line. I ordered pastrami sandwich and grabbed two bottles of iced tea. It was over $ 20! Customer service: was great. Two cashiers. Very friendly and helpful. A+ Food: good. Not special by any means. Combined with two drinks, the charge of over $ 20 was excessive. For this reason alone, I will not likely return. C–

Midtown is starting to go downhill. Screwed up our phone in order. Service is steadily getting worse and less personable. Not sure what’s going on with the new management but i don’t like the direction it’s headed in. The head cook is still the same so «when» they get your order right the food is still good, but gradually growing less impressed with each passing week. I’ll keep giving it more chances for a few more weeks, but starting to consider other options for morning breakfast/coffee in the central Ventura area.

I like this place, they have a great menu, fresh cut flowers, good ambience, great décor, and fresh cut flowers. Food was awesome and the service was good just a little slow when they got slammed.

Had to add a star because I have seen improvement lately. They have been using way better gluten free bread, it’s yummy and makes for a normal sized sandwich! Their veggie panini had a lot more vegetables in it than I have seen before, as well. All in all, it is still a great place to go get a healthy meal in Ventura.

I liked it at one time… about a year ago when whoever owned it or ran it were on the ball. Now I’m finding that the place is frequently closed at random during their own scheduled business hours. So this morning I skip breakfast and drive over before going to work hoping to get some coffee and an egg sandwich. Get to the door with one other person waiting outside and one of the owners comes out and say’s the place is closed today. Who runs a café and decides to be closed on a whim? Someone who doesn’t value their business very much, that’s who! So as a regular customer Iv’e decided to skip this place from here on out. Maybe I’ll be back in the future if someone gives me a sign that the owners finally got their act together!

Pretty good food! Juice is very reasonably priced — 12oz is only $ 5. Breakfast burrito was super yummy and flavorful, nice combination of veggies.

As a new shop, it’s still working out some of the kinks but the staff is dedicated to making the food, drinks, and the customer experience the best that it can be. I haven’t been able to try much aside from the acai bowl, coffee, and scones but they have been on point. Try anything in the cold case or a nice cup of coffee with any of the baked goods and you won’t be disappointed. Their coffee beans are roasted locally and I highly recommend either the date, fig, and walnut scone or cranberry, almond, white chocolate scone. They are winners!

Went for breakfast while they were remodeling. The lady was very nice and helpful. I met the chef and she was very cool and helped me decide what to order. Had the best breakfast burrito! Not easy to find… Very fresh and flavorful. Also have their granola and yogurt. Really enjoyed that too as the granola is made there. Overall great success, very peaceful place, good vibe.

The food here is amazing. But I am reviewing because we drove out all of the way from Camarillo, on a Saturday, during normal business hours, and they are closed. We pulled on the front and back doors, and no signs were posted on either with any explanation. People that worked there were inside. Finally, someone inside yelled«come back next week!» I don’t think that we will.

Consistently running into paper bag signs on the door that say closed today, or being told we’re not serving that today. Might be a good idea to get out of the restaurant and café business if you’re continually dropping the ball on the idea of being open to serve food.

I’m always happy to find place that offers vegan options but the fact that there’s a actually quite a few FULLY vegan items(I don’t have to say«no cheese, hold the mayo», etc) to choose from makes things much better ! They have many acai /pitaya bowls to choose from(my favorite is the Super Bowl !) as well as actual dishes, such as Veggie Tacos, Veggie Breakfast Burrito, Veggie Burger & more !!! The tacos(made with soy chorizo) are soooo good ! Anyways, this is a top spot for my boyfriend & I to eat because they have many non vegan dishes as well including tacos, sandwiches or his favorite, the French toast. There’s a ton to choose from ! The décor is super comfy & inviting. There’s an indoor area as well as a few tables in their front patio outside. Very pretty for a date or just to hang out with friends. Service is another plus; everyone there is so friendly ! Definitely a great vegan AND non vegan place to check out.

So I’m a big fan of this place, but I just had to drop my star rating from 4 to 2 based on the OBSCENE amount they just charged me for a build-my-own smoothie — which used half the amount of ingredients found in most of their pre-named smoothies. So disappointed.

I’m not familiar with the Ventura area. Found this place on Unilocal and I loveeee it. The chairs are beyond comfortable. The music is at the right and appropriate volume. It’s a great place to catch up with friends or go solo to get some work done with their free wifi, which was what I did. Did I mention How fantastic the seats were? I ordered the cold pressed green machine and it was delicious. Haven’t tried their food but I’ll definitely come back. The only downside is the price. $ 6 for a 12 oz pressed juice. Maybe that’s the going rate and I just don’t know about it? Their private lot is shared with Quest diagnostics so it may be difficult to find a spot. Luckily, there are plenty 2 hour spots right outside on the street.

The Skinny: People love them on Unilocal, and I am no different! Great stop for morning breakfast and pick-me-ups, located conveniently on Loma Vista Rd with everything else. Environment: Nice and cute little place with wooden décor and chalkboard menus on the wall. The place is a nice spot to sit for lunch or chill. There are also patio seats outside if you want to enjoy the sun. Parking is somewhat difficult at busy hours because it shares the plaza with a lab diagnostics center, but most of the time there is street parking at the minimum. Service: Love these people! They are all pleasant every time I go there, and I go there a lot. Sometimes the service in making the food may take a bit longer, but that depends on how busy it is. They have free WiFi here! Food/Drinks: So many different types of coffees and teas, and they can customize almost anything you want. They also have a killer breakfast burrito that makes you feel really healthy eating it. More veggies are in their burrito than most other places, which is a nice changes. Their panini is alright, but their croissant breakfast sandwich is awesome as well. Overall: 4⁄5 I work nearby(around the corner) so this place is the best place walking distance around me. I also come here on my off days too because it is chill to hang out here with the nice environment. Totally recommend coming here/checking it out if you are around the area.

Rawsome tacos were delish! BUT I give them 3 stars because it wasn’t what was described in the detailed menu… That kind if threw me off, especially when you’re craving something specific. These tacos hit the spot but seemed small for $ 12(includes tip). Flavors meshed well and everything was fresh. Red cabbage was perfectly blanched but still had enough crunch. I’ve also ordered the Bahn mi sandwich and it was great! Lots of great flavors and they use chicken. I told the server I was ravenous and wanted something vegetarian & substantial. She suggested that the paninis or salads were hefty portions. I appreciated her suggestions and will def try them next round!
