Main Street Smog Test Only Center

Quick and painless! Took maybe 5 minutes total and also found a coupon for $ 5 off in the local mailer.

Very standard, no thrill smog shop, first come first serve. Employee starts working on a car then starts prepping next customer. We arrived, two cars before us, we waited 30 minutes just as we were told the time wait would be. Seating to wait is outside and inside. Customer service just fine.

This place rocks! Highly recommended. Honest, helpful and efficient. I showed up at 5:30 (they close at 6:00) and there were two people ahead of me. Juan was courteous, professional, (the guy ahead of me did not pass the smog check, but Juan explained it all to him and said once the guy had his repairs done he would recheck his car for $ 10.00) He got the three of us smogged and out in 30 minutes. I’ll definitely be back.

Went there for my smog and showed the owner the bad reviews since he seemed so nice. He said he isn’t a new owner but did have an employee that was rather gruff and is no longer there. He was very helpful with my questions since all the changing smog laws can be confusing. I passed!

Sum it up as. The owner is very rude.
First time i ever met him, he told me re-​test was $ 20. When i used to go here the other owner had a free retest. I asked him «it used to be free?» his reply «I used to be 21» and not in a funny manner. Car failed smog.
Next time i came back, I waited 30 minutes when it was my car next he got in and honked at me as i sat at the table waiting. He honked at me to get the keys, even though he was literally 10ft away and simply could have asked. The whole time seemingly annoyed I was even there.
Then he basically yelled at me for my timing being off (I an not a mechanic, In reality when i took it to a very respectable mechanic the timing line was washed over with some grime and dirt so was not visible until cleaned off) After this un pleasant back and fourth I decided to take it to Smogies. I was actually treated like a paying customer instead of some annoyance.
I would not recommend this place to anyone for any reason. Owner is not a happy camper and displays in his horrible attitude.

I have had good service here before — but could this be new management perhaps? Went in this morning (a Saturday) and there were several people standing around. I asked how long the wait would be and he couldn’t tell me — finally said about an hour. I asked if I could sign in and come back in an hour — no. «First come first served.»
How tough would it be to get a piece of paper and a pencil?!! Sign in when you drive in, and guess what? It would STILL be ‘first come first served,’ but I wouldn’t have to burn an hour sitting in your parking lot.
I went elsewhere.

Drove in … hooked up… checked and drove out… Very good attitude, and very professional…***Note … on 2000 and newer cars they connect to the computer on your car, as long as their are no check engine light issues, certificate is issued. ***+

So I pull in and the technician is sitting in his car at the edge of the parking lot. He wanders over and I ask the price. «$ 48,» he says. I asked if he didn’t want to match the other lower prices around town, like maybe $ 35. He said «Now it’s $ 68. The lower you go, the higher I go.» I wished him a good morning, naturally.

Awesome experience. Quick and easy. Super friendly, sweet technician. In and out. GREAT service. Highly recommend. I’ve been going to him for 8 years. I wouldn’t take my car anyplace else.

This place is great! The guy working, I didn’t catch his name, was friendly and efficient. Made good small talk and got the job done quick! There were two people ahead of me when I arrived and it only took… maybe a half hour? The technician was on his game though. Handed me paperwork in between one job, had people pay between another. Very efficient and friendly. Was only $ 40.00. Have gone here many times and will definitely be back.

My experience at this Star certified smog test center was quick & easy.
I found a coupon on-​line for a $ 33.75 test, plus $ 8.25 for the DMV certification which applied to ’96 models and younger. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice this exclusion until showing up for the smog test and learned that the discount didn’t apply in my case.
While the Jaguar still looks & runs great, she isn’t as young as she used to be. She kind of reminds me of me. =))

Had an absolutely horrendous experience at this place.
They took my money and smogged my car, it barely failed. I came back for my free retest and they informed me that I had needed to go to a Star Certified Smog shop in the first place. I wanted my money back but they promised that they would be Star Certified by the following week (the week before my tags were up).
Flash forward to the following week and no phone call. They finally called a few days before my tags were due and said I could come by for my retest. When I showed up at 2:45 in the afternoon they were closing shop and said they didn’t have time for me.
I went somewhere down the street and it passed no problem.
AVOID THIS SHOP!!! There are too many shops around here to risk dealing with these guys.

One bay (one car) shop, with one technician. First come, first serve (as of March 2014) Yet, speedy service, good price, and friendliness.
I’ve been here twice now, in the past six months, for two of my cars. Each time, I’ve not had to wait more than 10 – 15 minutes until my car is processed. I arrived a little after Noon and was done before 1:00 pm.
The price has seemed fair ($ 48 total, or 39.75 smog check, 8.25 certificate).
The guy was cordial … not dirty or scruffy, and no bad mood attitude. Just focused and friendly.
