I took my 4 year old son to get a haircut from Lucy. It was not only a haircut– it was a fun entertaining experience! Lucy is such a fun beautiful person who has the perfect personality for making people feel comfortable. Her studio is filled with toys, games, ballons, tv, and video games to distract those who may be haircut shy. She even has a bubble machine. My son absolutely loved Lucy and we will be returning for sure.

Overall, I think Lucy’s is a fun place for a kid’s haircut. Pros: There are a million toys She gives them candy Large TV for distraction She was very friendly and gave us time to warm up to the idea of a haircut Cons: The toys were dirty and sort of grossed me out The place was a little dark and cluttered, so don’t come if you don’t like small/dark spaces The price was higher than any other children’s haircut I’ve taken my kids to in town. Only takes cash or check, which I never carry. I haven’t decided if we will return. It was fun, but I think I’d rather spend the extra money on a cheaper haircut and take my kids elsewhere for the entertainment.

Lucy is definitely Purplelicious! Our daughter had her first haircut done here today and we are very pleased with the results. She was entertained the entire time and it was wonderful to see how much Lucy cares for children. She carefully collected a sample of our daughter’s hair to attach to her special«1st Haircut Certificate». Her salon is totally geared to the imagination and playfulness of children. I was even entertained! We will be coming back Lucy! Thank you for everything. :)

We love going to see Lucy! Her shop is a wonderful environment for the kids to feel calm and relaxed in. We would recommend Lucy to any family who is having trouble getting their children’s haircut. She will work her magic! I work with a child with disabilities and Lucy was so patient and positive working with him. He really enjoys going to see her.

I must say, I am so glad we found Lucy, she is so nice, you can tell she Loves kids and gets to their level, she makes sure they are having fun while she does her thing. She has movies, toys, the place it self is magical, my 2 year old loved it, he didn’t cry at all! In fact he loved it! Lucy made everything special until the end with bubbles at the exit gate :) I made sure I put her number in my cell! She is a keeper! Thank you Lucy!!!

We love Lucy! When my daughter had her first haircut I didn’t know about Lucy so I went to a nearby«Family Cuts» place where the hairdresser obviously didn’t like working with kids, and by the end of the haircut my 15 month old baby was screaming and sobbing. After we left I had to go to a nearby store to pick up some groceries, and when the lady in line in front of me asked what was wrong with the red faced and sniffling baby and I told her, she said«Go to Lucy-I have 3 kids and they have never shed one tear with Lucy.» Over the years we have had great haircuts with Lucy and have come to regard her as a wise person to talk to and to get advice about schools and neighborhoods and local things for kids to do. The salon visits are always fun and she has plenty of things for kids to do so they don’t even realize their hair is being cut until it’s over. She knows all of the cute styles and makes the hair easy to care for after the cut. The original lady was right-never any tears-it has always been a pleasure to go to Lucy’s salon and get a child’s haircut. Unfortunately today we went to another salon since the child is approaching her teens and thought she was ready for a «more grown up» haircut. The hairdresser was rude, decided to cut her hair in a short layered bob despite the fact she said over and over she wanted to keep her hair long, and basically chopped off so much hair in such a terrible style that she ruined her hair for the summer. We walked out before she was finished because my child was holding in a mild case of hysterics and I could see she just wanted to get out of there(sadly I paid-as I will have to do again once the child calms down and we have to call Lucy for an appt. to fix it.) Once again the child is dissolved in tears. This time it might be for days. I have learned my lesson-if I don’t want my child to be sad and devastated over a haircut, I should probably stick with Lucy.

Best time ever. I do not have children so my trick for taking care of then is to do lots of fun things with people who know what they are doing. My 4 year –old fairy-god daughter had a blast. Lucy is a real pro and kept her busy and laughing the whole time she was there. She hardly noticed she was getting her hair trimmed and braided. its a magical place with a Barbie Corvette to sit in, a train that runs around the ceiling, lots of fun games and toys and a bubble machine. 22 dollars included cute plastic fairies for her hair. A bargain in m book.

Lucy’s place is magic! I just returned from getting my five year old daughter’s haircut and could not be happier. My daughter is on the autism spectrum, non-verbal and sensory driven. She is very sensitive when it comes to her head. Getting her haircut in the past was always a daunting challenge. Not anymore! As soon as Lucy opened her door, my daughter immediately walked in and followed Lucy to a chair. Cartoons were already playing and various toys had been pulled out in anticipation of our arrival. The lights were low and there was not a lot of distracting noise in the salon(for parents with children on the spectrum we know what harsh lights and loud noise can do to our kiddos). Lucy was gentle and kind. Anytime my daughter made a noise or pulled away from the brush, Lucy would say«Ok I’ll be more gentle», which made my daughter feel at ease. Within 30 minutes we were done. Lucy then took time with us while my daughter sat in the pink Barbie car. She gave her a balloon(one of my daughter’s favorite things) and then turned on her bubble machine. I watched stunned as my daughter ran around the outside of the salon, giggling while clouds of bubbles surrounded her. In fact, I was so stunned that Lucy had to remind me to take pictures. We live in Simi Valley so driving up to Ventura is an event for us. It is worth the time to come to a place that makes my child feel at ease, taken care of, and welcomed. I would recommend Lucy to all parents, but especially to parents with kiddos on the spectrum. We will continue our drives to Ventura to visit our friend Lucy.

Today my son had his first haircut at Lucy in the Sky. He is 2 years old and currently going through his terrible twos. I cannot believe how patient and sweet she was was. By the end of the haircut my son didn’t want to leave. She has so many toys, cartoons, video games and even let my son play with an iPad. This is going to be the only place I bring my son to here on out.

Lucy is downright magical when it comes to giving kids haircuts! I’ve been taking my son to her since his very first haircut and wouldn’t dream of taking him anywhere else. My son is on the autism spectrum and has sensory issues, so getting a haircut has always been a challenge for him. Lucy really knows how to keep him occupied while cutting his constantly moving hair! She’s a beautifully warm and loving lady, and I’m so glad we found her!

Going to Lucy to get your kids haircut is like going to a amusement park at the same time. KIDSLOVEHER! The sights, sounds, toys and decoration all lend to experience that will be talked about in your home until the next visit. Trust me, your kids will love getting their haircut from here on out if you go see Lucy!

A friend of whom I used to work with told me about Lucy years ago. She had taken her son and daughter there. And she highly recommended Lucy. So I always remembered Lucy in the Sky, and thought one day when I have a child or children I gotta bring them here. Lucy is soooo amazing! To describe Lucy she’s so down to earth, she’s this cute hippie grandma with lots of smiles! Her little salon is so cute. There are trains on the tracks running over your head, there’s a pink Barbie car in one of the rooms, there’s also an aquarium in the bath room, there’s a little airplane barber chair, all kinds of toys, and there’s a big television to keep your child entertained. Can’t explain it you gotta go to see her amazing place. She has lots and lots of patience with children especially my girls. She took her time with them. My girls did not want to leave her salon. They had so much fun! Now that tells you my girls were very comfortable with Lucy. Since this was the girls’ first hair cut with a professional, Lucy made a cute certificate for each of my girls with a lock of their hair attached to each certificate. And to top off the goodbye she gave my girls each a balloon and brought out her bubble machine. My girls are saying everyday they want to go see Lucy again! I highly recommend Lucy to cut your child’s hair! Your child will not be disappointed nor will you! If I could give her more than 5 stars I definitely would! We can’t wait to go back to Lucy again!

Purplicious the Clown helped me entertain 135 – 7 year olds this year, in a downpour, confined to a 900 square foot house with everyone’s parents and siblings and wet shoes in attendance. She was AMAZING, she had this little circle of magic with the children and played all of her games in the tiniest of spaces. A true professional, a wonderful entertainer and an amazing person, we LOVE Lucy aka Purplicious! Fans for life, she is the definition of «Woohoo! As good as it gets!»

Lucy is amazing, she is one of those people that have found their true calling in life. You can tell that she enjoys every minute of every day. So far my son has had 2 haircuts with Lucy. The first thing we noticed as we entered is the train. There is an overhead track that has a toy train that races around the shop. There are so many ‘distractions’ to keep the kids happy while Lucy cuts the ‘hair in motion’ as she says. If you have children, it’s worth it to book an appointment with Lucy and see for yourself what it’s all about. You’ll be a repeat customer.
