Hands down the best corn in the world if not the universe! Very unique take on the boring old fair corn.

I tried their Cajon Corn option at the Camarillo Fiesta and found myself wanting another. The corn was fresh and sweet and the spices complimented it nicely. I am still trying to figure out what the name symbolizes… I thought it had to do with corn & sea salt?

Even in this day and age, when everything’s been discovered and nothing is news, somehow a great new idea still surfaces every few years. In 1999, we got Netflix streaming. 2001 brought the iPod. Samsung gave us 3D ready TVs in 2007. Then nothing really happened until finally, in 2012(last Saturday to be exact), we were presented with Corn of the Sea! So what did this company do exactly to be placed among the likes of the iPod and Netflix… Well, they sell roasted corn… on the cob… and sodas… I think a better question would be, why did I eat 5 ears of corn on Saturday? Or why did I wake up this morning thinking about«El Elote?!» Maybe it’s something as simple as the stick that they put the corn on(like a corn-dog)… Maybe it’s the parmesan… maybe it’s something they put in their blend of herbs and spices… Maybe it’s the anxiety of knowing they don’t have a freakin’ store I can go to *right now* and get just one more ear… like a «French Quarter» or an «OG»… Maybe it’s all of the above… Of the 5 ears I ordered on Saturday, two were the«El Elote.» This is an ear of corn with mayo(although I substituted butter on one of the two), parmesan, Mexican spices, and lemon. I preferred the butter over the mayo, but both were insanely good! Then I had«The Green Machine:» an ear of corn with olive oil and what they describe as a «secret savory blend of herbs and spices.» There was a crunch to this one that added an extra dimension to the texture, and it was awesome! Then I took a break for an hour or so… before going back for an «OG:» ear of corn drenched in drawn butter and then dusted with salt and pepper. This one was surprisingly tasty for what I think of as a regular old standard corn-on-the-cob. It has to be either magical corn, or the roasting process… I don’t know what else you can do to a plain ear of corn to make it taste that good. The 5th and last one I ordered was the«French Quarter,» with spicy Cajun seasoning. This was good, but I thought the others were better. In it’s defense though, it was my 5th ear, I was really full, and it’s kind of hard to beat what I consider to be the best ears of corn I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t have even ordered another one, but I heard these two people freaking out about the«French Quarter» like it was the best thing since Mardi Gras, and I couldn’t *not* try one. Oh, almost forgot about the sodas: I’m not really a soda fan, but they had some really interesting flavors like Banana Nut, Cotton Candy, Butterscotch, CORN, Watermelon, Cucumber, and a few others. I actually tried one called Root Beer Float. It was a good root beer… I know, that’s boring. Like I said though, I’m really not into soda. Overall, I’m giving these guys 5 stars. It’s the best corn-on-the-cob I’ve ever had(hands down), the staff was really friendly and helpful, and the prices were totally reasonable at $ 2 for soda and $ 3 for corn! You can bet I’ll be looking for them at the next fair!
