Unique gift shop located in downtown Ventura on Main St. They had many varieties of gourmet chocolates I have never seen before. Salt water taffy you can buy by the lb. Beautiful handcreme’s and soaps. Unique cards and gifts.

I can always count on Copperfields Gifts and Rarities to have a unique gift in a pinch. They have stunning gift wrap as well. Its a nice way to make your gift stand out from all the others that seem to get lost in a pile. Great stationary as well.

Talk about a nifty store, so many fun things to see from cards & stationary, to wrapping paper, lotions and lip balms, gag gifts. & baby products. If any of you own a pug they have the cutest soap replications a pug, as well as a poodle, and a tabby cat. I got my cousin the cutest coin purse with a Hen & chicks on it, because she’d told me that she was going to raise chickens but now she says those words never came out her mouth. I might be getting older but I haven’t lost my ability to hear… Yet! If you are looking for a unique gift shop in and take a look, the card selection alone is amazing!

I love Copperfields!!! From the unique and quirky gift cards and wrapping paper to the handmade ceramic animal heads crafted by the owner, this is a wonderful place to find gifts or fun things for yourself. There is a corner in the back of the store devoted to used classic books that are great to browse through. There is a big selection of baby and children’s toys and clothes that are perfect gifts. They carry unique pieces of vintage jewelry, handmade soaps, quirky collectables, and even Ray guns! There really is something for everyone here and you will have a lot of fun exploring. A must do store if you are in Ventura!

This place is so cool. I had to catch a plane and had to get a souvenir for my daughter. I wish I could have browsed longer. I bought two awesome leather bound journals and the store keeper gift wrapped them better than anyplace I’ve ever seen. I hope to go back there soon. I hope they continue to succeed.

I hang out on Main Street in Ventura often, sometimes just to hang out and enjoy the cool breeze, sometimes to go thrift-shopping. I’ve passed by this store many times but never went in until today. I thought everything will be so ridiculously expensive based on the displays by the storefront, and guess what, I was right. BUT-the items inside are unique, special, and sometimes odd. There’s a section of old books, some even inside bookcases. Some cookbooks, at $ 18 a pop, seem expensive but they are not the type you find at your everyday thrift shop or used bookstore. So if you have a burning desire to learn Swiss — not German, not Italian — come here and check it out. There are some books on American slavery. $ 150 up. What’s up with that? Where did those come from? Odd, I must say. Another curious thing was a metal box used before for ammo, now used for«manly» soap. $ 50 for 5 — 100z. «big ass» men’s soaps. Unique, but would you blow $ 50 for something you will not use, maybe just a showpiece? $ 10 a bar seems too high for soap, even exotic manly stuff like this. Similar to another place down the street for overpriced manly accoutrements… note that it does not rhyme with excre****, but such stuff are, to be polite, fluff, or to be impolite, scheisse. But I am not slamming this store. It is fun to look inside. Fun to get cards, bookends, memorabilia, etc. Looking for the unique, come here and have a gander.

A delightful store in the midst of the growing touristy schlock on Main Street. Fabulous collection of well-chosen new and incredible antique pieces. Lovers of unique paper products beware, this place is addictive!

Highly recommended for unique cards, gift wrap. If you like interesting letterpress cards and single sheet, frame-worthy wrapping paper this place is for you. They also have lots of unique items that you’re unlikely to find elsewhere nearby. Everything seems very lovingly selected. Many items are perfect for stocking stuffers, hostess gifts, thank you gifts, whatever gifts. Whenever I’m downtown I try to stop in to Copperfield’s to see what’s new and pick up a few cards. It’s definitely one of my favorite stores in town. Staff is very friendly. Oh… and the ray guns are pretty cool!

i strolled in here on a recent visit to southern california and was pleasantly surprised. it’s a really unique store– it has a few antiques and antique prints, tons of nice cards, some chocolates, but my favorite part was the fragrances and candles they carried. i got a travel candle and some lovely neroli bath oil as a thank you gift for a friend, which they wrapped beautifully, for free! all the employees were so nice and helpful. i will definitely be back next time i’m down south.

Copperfields is one of those stores that is difficult to categorize but as soon as you walk in, you begin to think of words like ‘unusual,’ ‘rarities,’ and ‘collectibles.’ For me, however, there’s more to the store than just the ‘cool’ factor on the surface. Yes, they have the Ray guns that everyone talks about that they had in the window for months. One of the store’s biggest strengths is the book selection. They have old and collectible books of all kinds. First editions, imports, hand bound, series. All the things that book lovers/collectors might be interested in. Many of them are expensive, but I never really found any that truly outside fair value. Then they have an awesome card selection unlike the usual stuff you can get nearly anywhere. Weird collectibles that truly are rare or one of a kind? Look here. It goes on and on. They may not be constantly getting new things, but for the most part things do change every time I visit. Believe it or not, I actually haven’t bought anything here but I look forward to my next visit each time because I know one day I’ll find something I love enough to buy. If you’ve never been here, give it a shot.

This was in my opinion one of the coolest stores on Main Street in Ventura! Like others said, the selection is hard to describe, the ray guns are very cool and look like out of a sci fi movie. Funky gifts from all over the world, carefully picked. Everything is a treasure in its own, we didn’t purchase anything this time, since its so hard to decide what is the coolest and most unique thing there. Service was very nice, everything was displayed nicely, worth a stop if you are in the area!

This place is awesome! If you are looking for a gift for someone, Copperfields is where to go. They have so many unique cards, books, art, toys, and gifts for people aged 1 – 99, priced under $ 20. The shop owners are super friendly. AND I heard that they support the effort to keep Main street unique, and from turning into a capitalistic mecca where only places like Urban outfitters can afford to rent there. This place, along with the nearby thrift shops and mom & pop restaurants, is the reason why my husband and I like Ventura.

This place was fun! My friend who lives in Ventura was showing us around the town in attempt to coax us to move there. Super cute! I found two great cards within 5 minutes, a beautiful ring I am still coveting, and didn’t even have time to explore it all. I will be back :)

What a gem in Ventura ! I’d be hard pressed to describe the exact theme of Copperfields ! I went looking for some gift items for some female friends and family and found a treasure trove of goodies at all prices. Although I spent about $ 200 I felt like I had gotten my monies worth of VERY unique items, from small paper music boxes from France and stationary from Italy, to coconut/curry chocolates and jasmine soy candles. This place would be at home in Santa Barbara or Montecito, so I’m very happy to have it in Ventura !

Cannot believe this place doesn’t have any reviews. They sell ray guns here, people. RAYGUNS! I hesitate to use the«h» word about the eclectic mix of products at this gifts/novelties/rare books/generally unusual stuff store. The selection does teeter a bit on the edge of hipster, it’s true. But I appreciate the well curated selection of giftables – from Patch NYC candles, to interesting old hardcovers, cute kids stuff, funny cards, and, of course, RAYGUNS. Even if that does make me a hipster. Price wise, it’s a bit on the expensive side. Selection wise, it’s hard to define. If you, like me, like a store that constantly has new stuff to discover, this is is a good place to check out. I hope Ventura is kind to a store as uniquely whimsical as Copperfield’s – we need more shops like it.
