The Quest of Hayley Starr

My fiancé and I found The Quest through Airbnb and set up an appointment to view the space this past Friday afternoon. We live and work on the east side, but we were willing to leave work early and trek out to Venice to see the space at a time that was convenient for Hayley. That made it all the more disappointing when she didn’t show up! We hung around for a bit and then did some window shopping in the neighborhood hoping she would contact us, but she never did. As my fiancé put it, that lack of professionalism and courtesy didn’t bode well for the actual wedding… so we’re happy to have found another venue with a more attentive owner.

My husband I eloped, but we wanted to have a big party for our friends and family back in LA upon our return. We booked the Quest and ended up having about 100 people. It was the perfect venue. Upon entering, the first two things everyone said were «congrats» and «I love this place!» It’s so different than anywhere else we looked. The art on the walls and retro furniture gives it such a cool feel, somehow upscale and homey all at the same time.
The way the space is set up, there is a foyer upon entering, a bigger room for eating/​dancing, and an outside area. It was perfect to have these three areas. It was a little quieter in the front, there was plenty of space for everyone to dance in the big room, and outside was beautifully lit and lovely, even in the crazy September heat. Everyone on staff was super helpful and flexible. We were able to have the party catered, bring beer and wine, and have a DJ — none of the package deal, super expensive stuff that other places had. There was a site manager, Lauren, with us the whole night to answer questions about the space and make sure we got all cleaned up at the end. She was awesome and even, coincidentally enough, knew some of our guests! It’s a small world.
I would definitely recommend the Quest to anyone for an event, big or small. The location made our wedding party unique and special.

I love my Hayley Starr dresses! They make me feel beautiful and when I’m wearing them I think every woman should have the opportunity to feel this way. Seriously… they’re amazing. I also love this shop for the products they sell. It feels like Hayley really cares about her clients. She wants them to not only look beautiful, but to feel beautiful from the inside.

Lovely dresses and amazing atmosphere. (And the world’s cutest dog.) Just bought my new favorite shirt here. I plan on trying one of the classes soon.

The Quest is my favorite shop in Venice! Hayley’s dresses and paintings are so magical, and I love, love, love the events held at the store — especially Eliza’s breathwork classes. Hayley’s space does such a great job embodying what Venice is known for… magic, eclectic eccentricity, and beauty! Definitely recommend checking it out :)
