*** Softly exposed industrial loft space. ***
Gebert has the kinda space that I’d love to
live in ;) — cement walls/​floors, steel beams,
metal air ducts, high glass windows/​doors.
What is not to like? Soho style feel imho.
So it is fitting that I saw the works of NYC
resident artist this afternoon, Hunt Slonem.
Slonem’s art is both modern and diverse.
The piece entitled «Dusk» is the best one …
it incorporates his signature style — carving
lines thru the painting before it dries. This
creates a sorta Impressionistic look/​feel.
The other pieces are lovely too but this
landscape image shows more depth.

I bought an affordable piece of art from John Randall Nelson, that’s currently on exhibit… and even affordable is expensive, but this is high end modern art. The gallery space itself is quite beautiful and they are on constant rotation every month with the artist they represent. If you’re a Venice /​Abbot Kinney local, I recommend stopping in and checking out the art work. If you can come to the artist opening shows, even better, because that’s when you can meet the artist and often time have yourself a nice little soireé.
