We had Chicken Lo Mein, Pork Fried Rice and Pork Egg Foo Young. This is primarily a take out place family operated. Everything was delicious again today. Rice and noodles cooked just right. We have found China Jade to be our favorite for Chinese in Venice and we have been eating there for over 10 years. They are friendly and genuinely appreciate your business. Is it as good as what we got back home? I would say not but I would give it a try for sure.

A little better than most local Chinese take-out. We tried beef in garlic sauce and Szechuan chicken. Both good but a little heavy on the rice and light on meat and vegetables. The rice was good, though. The egg rolls were slightly worse than most – a little mushy inside – but not bad.

I would give it more like 3.5 stars, but I liked this place enough not to do 3. There is NOMSG in the food here, which is a major relief since I am highly allergic to it. I also have no respect for chefs who use this or bases with this as it just indicates to me that they don’t know how to cook and season food properly. This is the pretty typical Chinese food you find all over in NY, Los Angeles and Seattle and many other places in this country. It is American Chinese food, which is what we are all accustomed to. But this place puts some love into it and so far everything we have had has been good. The prices are excellent and the portions are huge. My favorites are the Szechuan dishes like General Tsao’s chicken and the cold noodles with sesame. The hot and sour tastes great, but there isn’t much substance in it. It is pretty much the broth with a little mushroom, egg and tofu. But for the price they charge, they couldn’t afford to put more in there. Besides, it leaves room for the egg rolls and your main dish. They have duck sauce and mustard that they make themselves that you can ask for. It costs .50 and is well worth it. And yes, you get the fried noodles with your dinner to dip. The family who runs the place are very nice and they do offer delivery if you live close, something I miss from living in a city. Overall, if you are looking for some good Chinese, this will satisfy the craving.
