Nice sit down place off the beach. Good veggie food selection. Heat was on so it was a tad too warm for the nice day it was outside. The bartender was also the waitress so be patient. On a weekend they should really have two separate people for that. We had the grilled cheese with tomato soup, and quinoa bowl– both were very good.

Great service at the bar. Nice beer selection and the breakfast was tasty. The perfect addition to that area.

One of my favorite places in Venice beach. Happy hour is great and service is better. I came here with my boyfriend in November 2015. All organic food for prices under $ 10 per plate. Good beers on draft & good company. Elliot is the best bartender & waiter. He goes above and beyond«great service». He kept asking us if we needed any waters, napkins, refills on drinks. And he wears a cute fedora :)

Very comfortable place to grab a quick bite and drink. I’ve only been for lunch on weekdays. I’m sure it’s a different scene at night. At noon on the weekdays it’s pretty empty. The inside is a bit dark and has a mixed vibe. The fixed gear bike hanging from the ceiling says Portland hipster while the neon vodka(or whatever) bottles lining the side wall says welcome college spring breakers. Food is surprisingly good. Granted it’s pub food but everything I’ve eaten has consistently looked and tasted pretty good. Not too many dark beers. I get a canned coconut porter which is tasty. The waitstaff don’t bother you too much which I like. Staff are friendly enough and they respond when you ask for something. Overall a very relaxed and comfortable place for a beer and burger on a weekday afternoon.

Fun bar/organic restaurant with great happy hour deals and delicious food. My friends tried their organic wine on the happy hour list and were overwhelmed with satisfaction. Others chose from the beer selection and liked their choices. I split the turkey burger and ceviche with a friend and we both enjoyed our choices. Every plate was cleaned. And they were starting open mic night as we were leaving so the entertainment is another reason to go again.

Recommend for dinner as I would prefer to sit somewhere near the beach for lunch! But it did have great food and I love the«farm to table» local concept. I had the delicious turkey burger. Interesting beer selection as well– grapefruit beer? Yum!

After having watched a recent episode of Southpark which led me to do some deep soul searching, I find myself compelled to write this update. I feel bad that my previous post may or may not make an impact on this business. In the end, the result of that night was not a reflection of the service this business offers or the hard work that the owner puts into running this establishment. One man made some bad decisions and his actions should not be synonymous with the name of this business. After my review, the owner reached out to me and apologized for the behavior of the«former» employee. I am writing this update in hopes to provide the review readers some type of explanation. I will eventually delete my original review as I do not believe it to be an accurate depiction of this place’s current management and/or employees. So go forth young Unilocal review readers. Spread your wings. Indulge yourself in the Historic Shi Tpa Town that is Venice. While you’re there head on over to the Bank of Venice and enjoy some fine dining and aged wine. The End

Great quality fresh food. This would be my first choice near the boardwalk as everything else around is like carnival style food not very healthy options and over priced. That being said, The service sucks. I’ve gone through an entire meal once and not even brought a glass for water… the entire meal man. Slow service seems like the waitresses just tend to the locals they know and and sort of hang around those tables even when they come around pretending like they’re checking on other guests they’re not proactively refilling or bussing tables so it’s like whatever service don’t come Here for your birthday or anything special but come here for a bomb breakfast burrito, a sugar glazed grapefruit, amazing pesto pasta, strawberry juice, etc. I keep coming back I just don’t tip well because the waitresses don’t work well.

So yummy made me go Chinese!!! I’ve been to Paris… I’ve been to Dubai, I’ve been to Michelin star restaurants, but nothing trumps the service I got from Lilly and Grace. Overall best bar in California!!!

Venice beach is a funny old place — iconic yet dingy and a wee bit grubby. So much so that we found it difficult to find somewhere to eat a decent meal. Eventually we stumbled upon Bank of Venice which itself isn’t the most straight forward to spot. The menu was full of salads and other greenery that was much needed that day after the previous night out. I ended up picking the Southwest Salad — full of beans, rice, cheese and lettuce and with a health dose of southwest sauce. This was washed down with a homemade lemonade that contained so much sugar that I swore my teeth were going to disintegrate. The salad hit the spot! The staff were really attentive and we even had two waitresses as one was being trained whilst we were there. Overall it’s a real quirky place, loads of old pictures on the walls of Venice Beach in the 1950’s(looked a lot classier back then) and a good spot to do some people watching. If you’re looking for something more substantial than a slice of pizza then head here.

Happened upon this establishment with two out of state relatives in tow.(No tour of L.A. is complete without a visit to Venice Beach, right?) Was very pleasantly surprised by the quality, flavor and presentation of the food. The California Burger was juicy and cooked perfectly and the roasted chicken likewise. Being that it looked primarily like a bar, entered with lowered expectations about the food, but realized otherwise upon chomping on the goods. As mentioned by other posters, this place does not serve soda but does offer a fairly good range of other beverages, otherwise. If there is one slight demerit, it is that there was only one server working the entire place that afternoon we visited. Yet the server remained friendly and calm and service was still done relatively timely despite there being a number of other guests. Definitely a place to visit again.

They try to be too original and hip and as a result the food suffers tremendously. What’s up w the wine pours — it’s more like a taster. The food was mediocre but I do give props to the waitress that recommended the brisket sandwich that was the only score. The quinoa bowl was alright. My friends hated the chicken sandwiches and the nachos crashed and burned. The sangria lacked fruity flavor goodness. All in all… meh. I hope this place improves as my friend lives up the street and I hear this is under the same ownership as Venice ale house. The hostess and waitress were awesome and we did appreciate the attentive good service.

I’m a Venice local and am constantly drifting into the Bank! The food is amazing… organic, great-tasting, nice variety(and decent prices considering its in the middle of tourist-land)…and they have good beer options. I love the ambiance, very chill usually, good music, friendly staff, and the games are usually on. Don’t come here if you want liquor though because all their«liquor» drinks are made with soju because they are only licensed for beer and wine, but its definitely worth the stop in! OH! And they serve brunch all day. The avocado baked eggs… omg. My house is only complaint, now that I think about it, is their open time varies and its not accurate online. On more than one occasion I’ve had to stand outside waiting for them to open so I could get my avocado baked eggs. They are open by noon, but sometimes at 11 too.

I live in LA and don’t often get the chance to get to Venice. I love Venice and decided to go back on my free day with some friends for some sun and food. I had heard about Bank of Venice from some friends and decided to go for a late lunch. The place was crowded and very busy but we were hungry and the menu looked great. Even with the restaurant being jammed, we were made to feel we were the only people there! We were immediately served by a really nice server, whose name I can’t remember. She got us our drinks almost as soon as we ordered them which was amazing being so crowded. My order of seared scallops was excellent. I wish I had room for two orders… it was that good! My friends were equally happy with their food and drinks. The entire day was very special and our lunch at Bank made it perfect. A BIG Thank You Bank for making my day complete!

I witnessed the event below also, in fact it’s the only reason I even looked it up PLEASEREAD: The other reviews of the incident must have been written by the drunk obnoxious guys friends. The dark haired bartender did yell at the guy but it was only after the drunk guy threw multiple things at the bartender. It was the end of the night or «last call» so everyone was being asked to leave anyway. The same drunk guy tried to fight my friend while waiting for the bathroom. If anything the drunk guy should have been asked to leave way earlier. I just moved here and I’ll definitely go back, great beer and good music

This place is an excellent getaway from the excitement of the Venice Boardwalk. While all of the tourists, homeless people, pot and guys peddling rap CD’s is entertaining(and not a bad way to spend an afternoon), it’s nice to have a place to get away from the crowd for good food and libations. It’s centrally located on the corner of Winward, so if you get a seat by the window it makes for some interesting people watching. The bar tenders are always down-to-earth and«chill»(I’ve misplaced my thesaurus) to talk with. They have a wide beer selection and offer soju cocktails. If you’re like me and have no idea what soju is(I hadn’t heard of it before coming here), it’s a Korean alcohol that tastes light and mixes well in all the drinks on their menu. They also make fresh sangria daily, which no «Sunday Funday» is complete without. The menu offers a wide selection of apps, so it’s easy to share if you’re with a group. If you don’t share well with others, there are plenty of entrees as well. I highly recommend the gluten-free mac & cheese(do yourself a favor and add the lobster!)! They also serve gluten-free bread on request for grilled cheeses. The scallops and tuna tartare are delicious too! This place can get a little crowded in the middle of the day on weekends, but the service isn’t too slow, and it won’t be an issue if you’re spending a lazy afternoon. Check out the architecture on the inside of the restaurant as well. The interior is unique with tall arches… almost like the real Venice… minus the Italians.
