Tent Pole Technologies

My tent was less than two weeks old, but it was in a terrible windstorm in FL and shredded a main pole in 3 places. I could have bought a repair kit, but for $ 1 less than the cost of a repair kit — which was going to give me 4 segments which I was going to have to then cut to fit — these guys made me a new, 9-​segment pole which required nothing on my part other than measurements (and I still have six segments from my broken pole, should another repair ever be necessary). Every camper should know that this company exists!

Quick, professional and easy. Took about 10 minutes and I was done. It almost took longer to run my credit card then to fix the tent poles.
If you’re in the area just drop in and they’ll get you handled. I understand they also have a way for you to mail your poles to them if you’re not local.

Needed to restring a tent pole for an old Kelty tent — REI recommended I contact Tent Pole Technologies, so I did. Very responsive, friendly, affordable, and they did the job quickly. I just wish they could strip and reseal my rainfly too… sigh!

Friendly service with an amazing turnaround time. We snapped an REI tent pole and REI recommended we contact TPT since that’s who they use as a third party vendor. I contacted them directly, got a quote for replacement and a repair and decided to get the repair due to cost. Made an appt to have it fixed while I wait (love that option!) Fixed pole and new cords done within 20 minutes — under $ 40 bucks. Can’t beat that.

My wife and I bought a tent from an REI Used Gear Sale back in 2010. It came with some pretty bent poles, but I hadn’t decided to do anything about them until now. REI referred me to Tent Pole Technologies for replacements.
When I called seeking replacement poles, one of the guys said I should send in what I have, they’d straighten what could be straightened, and replace what needed to be replaced. When the poles arrived, he called and said only needed to replace one of the five poles and straightened the rest.
What I originally thought would be a $ 200+ job came out to $ 70, return shipping included. Not only did they talk me into a less expensive alternative, the turn around was lightning fast (one business day). I was still a bit skeptical that straightened poles would be «as good as new,» but when they came and I set up the tent, I was thrilled to be proven wrong. I can’t say enough good things about Tent Pole Technologies.

These guys are GREAT! I had taken my tent pole into a local outdoor shop for repair and not only could they not fix it, they told me they couldn’t even find the right part. I did a web search and found Tent Pole Technologies and ordered what I thought was the correct part. Tom at TPT emailed me to be sure that I was getting the correct part. It turns out I had ordered one that was slightly different and Tom suspected this from the questions he asked. He recommended a different pole and when it showed up it was spot on. All this at a price that was amazingly low.

I had a rather inexpensive tent that I really like, and I damaged the poles when they fell off my motorcycle in traffic. They got ran over multiple times before I could gather them up. A recommendation from the web site Motocampers put me in tough with TPT. One call and less than one week a beautifully crafted set of poles arrived at my house. They even accommodated my request to make each pole shorter so they would fit in my pannier on the bike. Really excellent service and product!

If any tent pole is looking like it’s bending a weird way, seek out this place– it’s an unknown gem. No retail space or anything like that, go to their simple site instead.
I have used this family-​ran company for 2 repairs, one including a 2009 REI tent I got from the used gear sale. One pole had bent dramatically. I was able to pay a small fee and drive up to EAST vancouver to TPT and I think just a few days later I had my pole replaced. I paid 9 dollars for a 300 dollar brand new tent. Another twenty or so, to TPT, and I was on my way.
It’s a shame I just don’t have more tent pole issues or I would be very happy to go back! :)

Unbelievable customer service. Rather than just sending what I thought I needed to order, they checked out a separate inquiry I’d made the same day for custom replacement aluminum pole sections, called me to walk through the options, and then somehow delivered four sections to size with inserts after determining initially that there was only enough for 2 sections without. All this when they could have just sold me on buying replacement poles. Super excited to get another decade out of a solid Eastern Mountain Sports Venture 4 car camping tent. Thanks Tom.

These guys managed to send me some really difficult to duplicate aluminum pole sections for a 6-​year-​old chinese manufactured tent that was long since discontinued. Of course the manufacturers never sell replacement parts.
The fit and anodized orange finish of the poles I received were so flawless, I’m guessing they just have piles of new-​old-​stock poles from all the manufacturers on hand. Anyway, the experience was so good I’m motivated to go through all my camping equipment looking for other things I can refurbish, and I’ll definitely be giving those broken tents at REI garage sales a much closer look.
There was a slight mix up with the pole number I needed, but after sending pictures and shipping back the incorrect poles, they quickly sent me the right ones. Price was good, customer service was great. I was pleasantly surprised since this is such a tiny niche market.

I chose these folks because of all the positive reviews. Then it turned out that I would be the rare occasion when things went wrong. If I have learned anything by my 25 years in customer service… its when things go wrong that you can truly judge service. Terry and Tom were responsive, expeditious, and have made me a customer for life.

I sent my broken tent pole to these folks and they were super fast, very friendly, and did an awesome job for a great price! I can’t wait to go camping with my new tent pole!

This place I rated a five star place cause I know of no other place in the area that repairs tent poles. 15 min in and out with my two sets of poles now we are up and ready for camping again. we are definitely going back if we need repairs again
