Thursday night drink specials are ok but not great! DJ leaves a lot to be desired. He plays all slow R&B and slow Hip/Hop. Dance floor was empty the entire night. Seems he’s interested in the hoochies more than he is in good consistent dance music.

Run down bar with something of a bad history. Not all that long ago someone was stabbed there. I dont go there because of tge crowd. The redeeming factor is that if you catch Phil as your cook, you will enjoy the food… typical bar grub, but really top notch. Phil would be smart to move up to a higher class joint.

Ok… The dj has now changed his name to dj Unilocal?Still bad music so I don’t know what the change was, except for the name. He keeps spinning the worst songs in history. Please play some hits. No one dances and no one has fun. Play some upbeat music that people actually want to dance too. The karaōke is so bad and he doesn’t try and help at all it’s just sad, terrible karaōke.

Good news! Oscars has a new menu. The food is decent now! That was really my only problem with Oscar’s before. I love the bartenders, all of them are awesome! Karaōke, dancing, pool, shuffleboard, some video games. It’s my go-to neighborhood bar.

Oscar’s is pretty good. I checked this place out earlier. Tax is included in all prices(prices are fair in the first place) which is a plus. The service was really good. The food was alright… standard bar food. The daily special list was cool, it included 5 $ 7&7s and 8 $ fish and chips, and many other things. My favorite part though was the chairs at the bar… they were pretty sweet =) I will check this place out again.

It’s a dive bar, very sports oriented, and serves the usual drinks. What sets this place part is the food. Go in, ask if Phil is in the kitchen, if he’s not, order a drink from the perfectly nice and capable bartenders and watch a game on the big screen. If Phil is working, order some food — it’s going to be great. A must try is his chicken toes, battered with and IPA beer batter. The pork sliders are a real treat, even if a lighter hand on the smoke would help, and the slaw the are paired with is a masterpiece of simplicity and flavor. Excellent. Recently we tried the special, blackened fish sandwich, cooked perfectly, seasoned well and not over spiced or charred. Phil knows what he’s doing, obviously cares about food and is wiling to take some risks considering where he works. It’s a rare thing to find in a bar of this type, excellent food. If it weren’t for the passion Phil puts in his food, I would give this two stars.

The food was very good, the bartender was sweet, the pool was set up very well, but the karaōke was not what I expected for such a good setting

Went to Oscar’s tonight for the first time after reopening. I was initially not very impressed. They threw some paint on the walls and added a couple tvs on the walls. There is a not so great smell which may be because the carpet was not replaced and should have been. The bartender was very attentive and very nice, she came back to the table several times to make sure we were taken care of. We each ordered a drink; mine was good but my husband thinks they use a mix for their Long Islands which he’s not impressed by. The food is good; I had Fish Tacos and he had Fish & Chips which are $ 8 on Fridays. They give you a good amount of food for your money. I’m not sure that this is the hangout for me though I’m glad they’ve opened back up as the neighborhood was missing them.

STAYAWAY!!! The bartender overcharged my friend by $ 20, but when my friend asked to see a print out of the itemized receipt the bartender said no because they were to busy. To make the matter worse the manager on duty told us that she would have to come back the NEXTDAY and basically beg the owner to give her a refund and charge her the correct amount. So be prepared to be overcharged and then have no way to get your money back from when you visit this bar. Also Oscar’s charges $ 36 for three cherry bombs, so their prices are not even competitive. I will never go back to this bar and i hope neither with anyone else.

I am not even sure how this place is in business, especially after reading all these terrible reviews. We visited this place on a weekday afternoon when the pool was free. Upon entering we saw two old men who were most likely veterans playing pool. The sign says free pool Mon-Thurs but what they don’t tell you is that you HAVE to buy a drink. While we are getting drinks we see the owner yell at these two old men that they have to buy something to drink if they want to play pool. The older man looked confused and asked if they had any coffee they could purchase. Seriously? It’s midday and two older gentlemen just want to play pool and you are going to yell at them and demand they buy a drink? Worst customer service ever. If you want a friendly bar go down the road to Jays. I am giving one star because it won’t let you leave a no star review.

The bartender was wonderful! The KJ sucks! Horrible karaōke. We were in the bar an hr early eating and drinking. I spent $ 60. She was putting people in before us that were sipping cheap beer the whole time. Probably regulars. That’s not how you get people to come back. Remember you have ALOT of competition. I will be going back to the Back Alley, The Irishman, just to name a couple.

We decided to try Oscar’s for karaōke tonight and boy were we disappointed. When we arrived it was well after nine o’clock which was when Karaōke was supposed to start. We sat ourselves in the most torn up chairs we have ever seen in the lounge area and were greeted by our server who asked us what we wanted to drink. My wife asked about the after 9 drink specials and was told that the only specials were The Mr Oscar and The Mrs Oscar which are root beer spritzers. I saw a sign for Red Stripe and ordered one and received the dull stare of a dairy cow and a «I don’t know if we have that» REALLY? Do you NOT know what beers you have? When the server came back with two diet cokes and my Red Stripe we were given some great news. The only food they have on possibly the busiest night of the week is what comes out of the deep fryer. Karaōke kind of lurched along as if it was an unplanned event. The sound system is horrible with the music drowning the really bad microphones that appeared to be cutting in and out. We finally got an order in for food which was an appetizer platter and some clam strips. We found a hair in one of the fried mushrooms and the onion rings were cold before they hit the table which brings the temperature of their deep fryer in to question. We were able to get our song choices up to the DJ and all was well… UNTIL it came time to put in our songs for the next go round. I understand giving everybody a chance to sing and all that BUT it seemed as though the DJ was a bit lackadaisical about rotation. It seemed as though she was reading our minds because she came over to our table and yelled at us «If you don’t like my karaōke you can just leave» and then stormed off for a while. We looked at each other in disbelief as if we just witnessed a a mental break down. When my wife went up to the booth to ask her what her issue was, she apologized saying she had thought she heard us yelling at her because our names hadn’t been called in a while. This was completely unprofessional! Even if we had been complaining, confronting a customer in the manner in which she did is neither appropriate or professional. Then after she half– heartedly apologized she explained that she was doing the best she could. Let’s be clear. If this was her best she should not be a KJ. Multiple bouts of dead air or several minutes of really loud Gangsta Rap between singers is just wrong. Needless to say we will not be returning.

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews, but my friends and I enjoy this place. My man has been here before they changed ownership(a long time ago) and he had an amazing time then, but when I’ve been going back recently with my friends this place is never bad. They have plenty of pool table and this place is quite spacious. Karaōke night is fun which is why most of my friends go. The bartenders are nice. I feel that they X out people too quickly, but on the other hand the 21 year old bday boy did have enough to drink before I got there at like 10pm haha. The service is nice and friendly though since we did bring our own cake and they were nice enough to provide the plates for us. Their food selection is quite sparce, but it is a bar so lots of people usually don’t go to bars for that. Their drinks are decently priced. Considering that I go back multiple times due to my multiple friends suggestions I say this is a good place to go to. Most of my friends do live around 112th area, so it’s a place to stop by if you’re in the area. On a quick side note, some of their booths are falling apart near the karaōke bar and is not exactly comfortable to sit on. So they may be going downhill, but that doesn’t stop me and my friends from coming, we just sit in a different location.

Came here in search of bar food. Very limited selection. Staff was standoffish. No point in going here with other pub options fairly close.

One bad night has just taken away five months of good times I had spent here. For the past five months, I’ve enjoyed visiting this neighborhood establishment for drinks, pool, and karaōke. Between me, my fiancée and her sister, we’ve undoubtedly spent an enormous amount of money here. Now, they will never see another dime from us. The only problem I had ever given that place was violating a dress code. I wore my ball cap backwards all but one minute. Tonight, Oscar’s gave me the problem. We were entertaining guests visiting us from out of the area and wanted to show them a good time by taking them to a place where we had been going often. We weren’t even there ten minutes tonight before every thing went terribly wrong. Two visits to our tables by the owner, who has been identified as «Jim,» led to an abrupt departure by my best friend. I chased after him and his wife outside to find out what happened. What did my guests do wrong? They didn’t order their drinks fast enough… Are you kidding me? After the first visit from Jim, just moments after all of us arrived, we were informed we had to buy drinks in order to sit in the lounge where we were going to sing karaōke. Drink requirements are nothing new. The eight of us occupied two tables. The table where I was sitting had drink orders taken. Great. My drink came as I went up to sing. After I returned from my song, there was an outburst that sent my friends heading for the exit. For crying out loud, they were going to place their drink orders when our server returned. Unfortunately, they did not get their opportunity to place their drink order before BEINGRUDELYORDERED to leave by this owner. Yeah. That happened. I’m a very nice guy. By association, my friends are truly good people, so you can imagine my disbelief in them being told to leave. I left, too. My friends come first. I barely took a few sips of my drink and that upset me. By all accounts, this owner was out of line and very wrong for what he did. Unfortunately, it will take a very long time before I get over this embarrassment. That said, I will work tirelessly to create as much negative publicity for this establishment as my fiancée was also embarrassed by this mess that never should have been created. Indeed, this shouldn’t happen at all, but it especially shouldn’t to a loyal patron like me. The bartenders, the DJ, even the security guards know me. This owner has to be pretty ignorant not to be aware of the business I have brought to this place.

This place doesn’t look like much on the outside but it actually looks fairly nice and clean on the inside with lots of pool tables, a nice bar, and a «dance floor». This is a fairly decent dive bar. The bouncers were nice and helpful whenever the locals had too much and started getting out of hand. I’m not saying this place is amazing, its nothing special, but if its convenient for you or you like dive bars its worth checking out.

This place was the belly flop of dives… Kind of like a dirty strip club without the strippers. Then add to that a complete ass for a manager and you’ve got Oscar’s! To explain, I’m going to give you a play-by-play because we stayed for only minutes. I went with my friend to play a pool and chat. We walked in and ordered drinks and food at the bar. The only other people there on a Monday night were about 5 people watching football on TV at the bar. We got our pool table all the way across the other corner of the restaurant side of the bar. Now this is a good sized place! We just started to play some pool and enjoy ourselves when a guy, who I’m guessing is the manager or owner, walks out from the back and turns on the music… REALLYLOUD! Now let’s get something straight here… I love music and I love it loud. I’m the person that turns my stereo up full blast in the car, and in concerts I usually elect to stand next to the speakers. Not kidding. I like to really«feel» the music. These are all places where it’s expected not to hear yourself talk or even think. My point being… this was not the time or place for music that was so loud and distracting I could hardly think enough to read my friend’s lips. So, naturally, we asked the bartender if he could turn it down a tad. He was nice enough to do so. Then about 5 minutes later the boss man comes out again from the back, big frowny face, and turns it back up to full blast. So he likes his bar loud, OK. I GOTIT. That’s cool. But apparently if you simply ask him to turn it down he refuses and is completely rude and tells you you’re going to have to deal with it. This guy acted like WE were inconveniencing HIM! After this DB’s reply, my friend shakes his head and walks away, and the guy starts to yell at the top of his lungs«Hey! Don’t walk away from me when I’m talkin’ to you!» and yells at us to leave his bar. He took our food and drinks away that we had hardly touched and threw them away, and demanded that we leave. I was in shock! I couldn’t believe what was happening. We were both in shock. My friend, being the gentleman he is, paid our 20 bucks and left. This was SO unprofessional, inappropriate and just plain painful service from the manager or whoever this guy was. It was like he was waiting to instigate a fight when his job is to de-escalate fights. Everytime I pass by Oscar’s(which is all the time) I am reminded of this horrible experience. That about sums it up.
