Mt View Eyecare Center

This is my first and only Unilocal review. I created this account solely to rate this business. They deserve it.
We were worried about our autistic daughter’s first eye exam. She’s moderate on the spectrum and we were hoping to find someone experienced with special needs children. Having been through this process several times we have a keen sense for when someone is bullsh*tting us to get our business… this was not the case with Mt. View Eyecare.
They were forthright about their lack of experience, but they were also willing to be as flexible as necessary to get our daughter’s eyes checked. They scheduled our appointment as the last of the day and assured us that we could take as long as necessary. They were better than their word. The entire staff was warm and inviting, giving us no indication that we were keeping them beyond their normal hours.
As for the exam, well let me say that Dr. Jankowski may not be an expert in autistic children, but he absolutely knows kids. He’s perceptive enough to catch the non-​verbal cues, patient enough to wait for the kids who have difficulties, and understanding that the process may be a bit frightening. He is a consummate professional.
This review isn’t just for kids, I got my eyes checked and purchased a new pair of glasses during our visit. My experience was ultimately the same as my daughter’s: filled with relief. Don’t be thrown by the strip mall location, this staff is as good as it gets! Their selections of frames and prices were right on point too.

I’m posting reviews on every site I find for this guy. Not only was Dr Jan the nicest Dr I have come across EVER, but equally knowledgable. Staff is very friendly. They are a very happy crew. They all made it so family oriented that even the other customers in the waiting room joined in to help me pick out my new frames.

Picking out new glasses has never been so much fun. Erica helped me pick out the perfect pair, laughing and having a good time the whole way through. It felt like I was with a friend. And when my glasses came in the nick of time for my vacation the whole office was cheering me on. I recommend them whole heartedly.

This is one of the friendliest doctors offices I have ever been to. I was a new patient last week and Dr. Jankowski came to the waiting area to get me and took me to his office (not a stuffy exam room) in order to get my past medical history. He was extremely nice and very detailed.
I returned this week for a recheck and Dr. Jankowski and the staff was already treating me like part of the family. I almost wish I needed to see an eye doctor more than once a year because they are AMAZING!

It had been about 10 years since I’d made a visit for an eye examination, and I’m so glad Mt. View Eyecare was still there. I went in to possibly get contacts for my visit. I only waited 5 or so minutes to see Dr. Jankowski and he was very friendly the entire time. I had forgotten how nice he was since it had been some time. I hate being around doctors so this was a huge relief for me. The eye examination was easy with no problems. The staff was equally as friendly and I actually look forward to my next visit!

Do you know that feeling where everyone knows your name, you feel like you’re part of a family and not a patient? Neither did I until I discovered Dr. Jankowski. Both him and his staff are amazingly down to earth. I spent a couple years trying to find an eye doctor that was down to earth and treated me like a human. Alas Mt View Eyecare was a great find, close to work, and just amazing all around.
Dr. Jankowski has a wicked sense of humor and always takes time to answer my questions. I was used to appointments that felt like a quick oil change, in and out within 20 minutes. However I find myself taking 30 – 45 minutes here and not minding at all.
Great patient care, great staff and a funny doctor? Yup, I’ll keep coming :-)

I first came here with a pretty bad eye infection from contact overwear. The receptionist who answered my call was such a sweetheart and fit me in that same day. Dr. Jankowski took great care of me, gave me some antibiotic eye drops, and even wrote his cell phone number on a business card that he gave me just in case my eyes hurt worse over the weekend. I’ve never had a doctor do that before.
Since the infection, I have received excellent care here. I got great new contacts, and Cynthia, their Certified Optician, picked out a really cute pair of glasses for me (that I would have never picked myself). I get complements on them all the time! Everyone here is professional and always go above and beyond. I would and I do recommend my eye doctor to anyone who is looking for a great one.

I do believe I’ve finally found an eye doctor I want to keep going back to each year.
I’ve worn glasses since I was in the fourth grade (I won’t tell you how long ago that was, but I promise it was awhile back). All these years, having been to four different doctors prior to my experience here, I’ve never been told that my glasses and contacts should be perfect before they’re done with me. Sure, I know that if my contacts are off, I’m going to go back and have them fixed. They’re disposable after all. However (and I know this is ridiculous for me to never have known, but I always blamed myself for it in the past), it was new to me to think that the glasses could be sent back and corrected if they weren’t quite right. Cynthia made me promise several times that I would come back and see her if the glasses weren’t perfect. Plus, she helped pick out frames that I love. The last place I went wasn’t helpful at all in selection and didn’t warn me that the frames I picked out wouldn’t work well with my prescription.
Everyone here is enjoyable to be around, you forget that you’re there for something that may not be the first thing you want to do with an hour or two of your time. It’s only my first year here, but I don’t see anything that will make me not eager to keep going back year after year for my annual checkup. Thanks, Jason T. for the recommendation!

Wow what a great experience. Dr. J is professional, accurate, and always friendly. The receptionist always makes you feel like you are welcome as family, and the optician has a wonderful talent for finding exactly what your looking for. Even if you didnt know what to start with. They have tons of frames to choose from. I love my new glasses, I will definatly be back.

i recommend staying local and promoting local businesses.
I woke up with a swollen eye lid and called right away, they fit me in the same day, informed me it was nothing major and sent me on my way.
