I am new to the area and absolutely hate meat from the grocery store. I decided to learn a new route home from Home Depot using back roads and just stumbled upon this place. I pulled my handy smart phone out and saw they had great reviews so I went in. You don’t need to look very hard to see the high quality of their meats. The quality is great! The people working their were awesome. Great service! Thanks for a warm welcome to the neighborhood.

I’ve been going to Mayer’s since I moved to Vancouver. The staff are always friendly and remembers each member of my family which adds a superior personal touch. And let’s not forget, the meats and everything else they have to offer is so delicious! I couldn’t imagine having a meal without Mayer’s meats involved!

We have been using Mayer’s Custom Meats to butcher our Angus steers since our kids were in 4H. 8 years now, we have had impeccable service, great beef and perfect cuts! Thanks everyone, it has always been a joy to know we get exactly what we brought in, cut to our specifications. We never have to worry about mix ups. They are an honest well run family business, that will answer your questions and help you get what you need. We have been so happy with them we send all our friends and family to Mayer’s. Try them, you will be glad you did.

I had them butcher meat for me previously and they did a great job. I split a cow with another person and had these guys do the butchering. My cuts came with 1 T-bone, 2 rib-eyes, and no filets or porterhouse steaks. When I defrosted the T-bone and rib-eyes, they smelled so rotten I had to throw them away. There are 15 ribs on each side of a cow, you might get 8 – 10 T-bones and the same with filets/porterhouse steaks. I had been hearing issues with Mayers with switching out meats on butchering, I was bummed to experience it.

Best thing about this place: when you walk in, if you’re a new customer, they’ll give you a sample of their own pepperoni sticks or very delicious beef jerky! And not just a «sample» on a toothpick or something. I mean, they literally open a package or reach into the case and grab a full-sized, best one they can find! What?! The gal behind the counter was very nice and helpful. I only intended to get some ground chuck since I was driving by and didn’t want to fight through a full grocery store, but the jerky kept me looking until I bought some pepper bacon and some AMAZING house pepper steaks. They were tri-tip cut to steaks marinated in a tomato, brown sugar and peppercorn(as far as I can guess) mixture. She had me grill them outside on foil to keep the marinade on the meat. Great advice. They were amazing, thick, tender, and clean tasting. They tell you exactly where the meat you’re buying comes from if you want. When you order, they make sure to ask you about whether you want them portioned out a certain way, cut differently, wrapped a certain way or prepped for freezer storage… I mean, how much better can it get? They have frozen options too if that’s what you want. Don’t overlook the chicken and pork products either. Some of which are pre-prepped to drop in the oven. I almost dropped them down to 4 stars because they are priced higher than a grocery store, but while the sticker shock was a little bumming, the cooked food at home was amazing. Now, the next morning, I don’t have any regrets. So 5 stars it is.

We just had the teriyaki bratwurst… YUMMO!!! We eat the pepperoni sticks often… our neighbor brings them to us! Once when I was in the store we had beer brats on a stick… so juicy and delish! I recommend this place wholeheartedly…

Their pepperoni sticks are soooo good. I just wish they were cheaper so I could buy them more often!

GREAT place to get your beef. They’ll even hook you up with some farmers if you want to buy a whole cow that you can trust, which I plan to do next spring. They have many fresh cuts and some even marinated meats ready to throw on the grill when you get home. In addition they have a great assortment of grilling spices and you can even exchange your propane tanks here for full ones. Very convenient. While you are there, try the peppered jerky. I am addicted now.

5 stars?! Really?! Oh yeah, it’s THAT good! We discovered this little meat shop on the side of the road one day coming back from Battle Ground. Was one of the best finds ever! Where do I begin? Their beef jerky, for sure! One look at the jerky and we had to get some. This is REAL jerky! Not that preformed, chopped, over seasoned yuck. Nice, long, thick cuts. Juicy, flavorful, melt in your mouth, finish-the-bag-and-suddenly-are-very-deeply-sad-it’s-all-gone kind of jerky. They have ruined us for all other jerky. My personally fav: the honey-glazed yum! Next, we have tried their lean ground chuck — delicious! When we unwrapped it for dinner, it was almost too nice looking to prepare. Just one of those moments, when one seems great looking meat and thinks to oneself it’s almost too nice to use. I did say ALMOST! We prepared some fabulous burgers from that pound of meat. So scrumptious! We savored every bit, just like the jerky before it. Next trip out, we will be picking up some steaks. Our mouths are watering at just the thought of them! The prices are good(not anything more than, say, Whole Foods), the quality is amazing and the serivece is upbeat and friendly. This is the way every meat counter and shop should be!
