Great selection, local ownership, easy to get help. Unlike the jumbo stores, i can find an employee within seconds to guide me. And the pricing is competitive also. Only problem (not their fault) is that people park in their lot that obviously are not shopping there or the Walgreen’s next door. The store must be too kind to call a tow truck.

Love Main Street hardware! Sometimes when I’m bored, I break things just so I can go down there and get the parts to fix it better then it was in the first place! Swanky stainless steel fittings, or other interesting options. They even have great popcorn for customers that is free with a purchase! How cool. The whole staff are great, if quirky, I feel so at home there. Never have they been rude. Long live Cathy!

The manager is curt and extremely rude! The store has unique yard items not found in other stores, and that is the ONLY reason we will continue to shop there. They sell repaired items as «new,» which I think is deceptive. My way of thinking is that if something has been broken and was repaired, it is no longer new, and should be marked down. We paid full price for a plastic yard ornament, and didn’t notice it had been broken and glued. The wing fell off after the sun hit it and the glue didn’t hold. We have encountered repaired items sold as «new» three times, so inspect your item before you buy it if it isn’t in a box!

They have the best customer service in the country!!! of course you can find more stuff in Home Depot but here they have pretty cool stuff for gardening and everyday home owner’s life.

They had the oil mixture for my weed eater and got a great bargain plus got me on a rewards program. Very helpful people and good customer service.

This place is convenient to my house, and I’ve always received good customer service. It’s a little dumbed-​down for my taste when it comes to the inventory, more urban convenience hardware store than full service, but they generally have what I need.

I love my neighborhood true value! James and all the others are always so very helpful and if they don’t have what I need (which is rare) they are willing to order it in for me. They have assisted me through the last 3 years of everything from plumbing issues to decorating the new yard. Thank you True Value for being there for me.

MY, WHAT GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE YOU HAVE.
The battery of my new watch died and I could not for the life of me open the backing that encases the battery. Rather than go to a private watch repair shop because who knows how much it would cost for them to open that puppy and replace the battery (and partly because I’m a cheapaz), I headed on over to True Value to see if there were any tools I could use to jimmy the backing off. Then my plan was to buy a battery from Walgreens next door since that’s what I usually do.
So here’s me at True Value, crouched in one of the aisles trying to find something to help crack that bad boy open (trying to do this sneakily I might add — why? I don’t know). Then this worker woman comes over and asks if I need help… I say ‘Yes’ because I’m not having any luck. I tell her what I need to do and Judy (now we’re on a first name basis) says she has watch tools up at the help desk.
So I follow her up there and lo and behold she has a bunch of slim jim thingys to open the backing. Granted Judy was a nice older woman, it did take some time, but eventually she popped that sucker open and she said that True Value also sold watch batteries. Score! Two birds with one stone! So I got my watch battery replaced for $ 4.69 with the help of lovely Judy and those special watch tools (which they do not have in the aisles where I was looking!).
BOTTOM LINE:
What a great example of customer service at its finest, in an old time-​y hardware store atmosphere. Judy helped me with exactly what I needed!

They also keep IKEA specific screws and things in stock if (like me) you’re too lazy to drive all the way back to the store

I love True Value hardware stores and this store is no exception. They have everything, and more, that you would expect. Courteous service. I love this place!
