Dr. Sakai and his great staff are, in my opinion, a model for patient-centered care. By this I mean that they clearly prioritize open, respectful communication and the personal touch that we so seldom experience anymore. I’m very pleased with the quality of the services I’ve received, and with the overall experience. The office is clean and pleasant, and reflects Dr. Sakai’s connection to the community he serves. Dr. Sakai’s staff are consistently friendly and helpful, and scheduling and billing are handled well. I recommend Dr. Sakai without hesitation.

I am older with tons of dental work. Bridges, crowns, root canals, dental surgery, you name it I have had it. I have probably been to well over a dozen dentists in my lifetime due to moving so much. I have a better than average history on the topic of dentists. The last 13 yrs I have been with Willamette Dental due to financial reasons and I now wished I had chosen the other plan offered and gone to Dr. Sakai instead. In the long run it is costing me financially and personally much more for having gone the cheaper route with Willamette. In fact I am dealing with having a root canal and crown for a front tooth that had a big deep cavity in it that Willamette failed to catch or xray for 7 yrs. The norm is 3 – 5 yrs to have all teeth xrayed. I urge you to think long term on your teeth since if you go the cheaper route you are setting yourself up for bigger problems down the road. That is what I am dealing with now. Dr. Sakai understands the importance of a proper bite and in one visit alone fixed my teeth so I now have an even bite and can chew foods on both sides of my mouth. My left side teeth didn’t even touch! Not one dentist in 50+ years ever approached it this way. Some of my crowns and bridges were poorly adjusted and sat high and wide and it threw my bite out of whack. I had no idea how bad it had gotten and just got used to it. It is not profitable for dentists to spend time adjusting the teeth for this. But boy does it make a huge difference! I also just learned I have Bruxism and not one dentist caught this but Dr. Sakai did. Now my jaw swings looser after he put me on the right treatment for this. My guess is I won’t be having so many root canals now that my teeth are not sliding and slamming into each other improperly. Not until he fixed things did it really hit home what a poor job some of these other dentists had done. A real eye opener. I am now spending out of my own pocket for this dentist until my dental plan is open for switching in a few months but the improvements so far are dramatic. I was resolved that I was headed for dentures in the near future but now I have hope that I don’t need to, he may even be able to make my teeth look much better too! I had really given up with what was possible. His staff is top notch too and really care to get to know the patients and make them feel at home. They even have a small table for the kids! His prices are very reasonable too. The place is clean and new with lots of interesting magazines that are not dog eared from many months back. They give a discount it you write them a check :) He also doesn’t leave you hanging if you have an emergency on the weekends. He has a number you can call if that happens. After watching Dr. Sakai’s approach to dentistry I realized that most dentists really do not have the skill set to really do what he does and put profits ahead of what is best for the patient. I strongly urge you to see for yourself and not take my word for it. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at his approach to dentistry.
