Dirty, cold and cramped. But hey, it’s the oldest DQ in Vantucky(I think) and has flair… Ish.

I only THOUGHT the DQ on SE Tolman was in an obscure location. You really, really, REALLY have to stumble onto this place. This one is probably part of the ‘undisclosed, secure location’ former VP Cheney was bumping around in back in the day. No drive-up so c’mon in. I’m thinking I was the only non-regular in here. It felt like everyone on both sides of the counter were really comfortable with one another. The food is much the same as all the others. When it comes to places like this, if the cook doesn’t mess up yer good to go. You can also get one of those new-fangled Orange Julius concoctions. It’s what they used to do with Osterizers before the Smoothie. Might want to mark your trail for finding your way back.

This used to be the absolute best DQ from all around, before management changed. Since the change in management, I’ve visited four times to see if the quality of service and food improved, but I was sadly disappointed more and more each time. This trip, with our family of six, only three of our orders were correct. Burgers that were ordered plain came with dressings, our drinks were not what we ordered, and I had to ask multiple times for my side of sauce. This is understandable, having been a cook I understand that orders sometimes get messed up. The worst part about our trip was getting a treat slip, that comes with the kid’s meal, touching my son’s food, that literally looked like it had just come out of the garbage can. It was wrinkled to no other and had gross food particles left on it. Absolutely disgusting. We will never return here again, sadly, after being a customer here for my entire life. We miss Greg.

Great Dairy Queen. Very friendly and good for family and seniors. They even have soup for those with a light appetite. Good food and great dessert all in one. They do need a changing table in the bathroom and there is room.

Never been a huge fan of their burgers so opted for fries and a peanut butter shake. Yummy. Place was clean and the service was friendly and fast. Too cold for me to sit inside though

Hubby and I came in for a dilly bar and blizzard, but I was hungry and had to break a $ 100 so I ordered a #8 for me and a #10 for my husband:-)

This is actually a 4 and a half star review, and if it had a drive-thru, it would definitely be a 5 star DQ. The foods here are great, the desserts are wonderful, the dipped cones are dipped thickly, and they are willing to double-dip it if you ask. They now have Orange Julius in the mix, and between the amazing service, delicious food and desserts, and the old-school décor and feel, it’s a good one. When we go to DQ, this is the one we like to go to.

Great chicken strips. Service is better than most«full serve» restaurants. Far better than other quick serve or fast food places.

This is one very well run Dairy Queen. The fries are the best out of every Dairy Queen I have ever had. The service is good, the location is clean and well kept. The food is always good quality and fresh. The only issue I have is over the years the chicken strips keep getting smaller and smaller. I do appreciate that if you get really small ones, they will often give you two strips that count as one, but on the average basis, the strips need size improvements. I am still giving 5 stars though as I know this is an issue primarily through the DQ distribution/food sources.

This isn’t your normal DQ — that’s for sure. That’s a good thing. Positives — The owner runs a tight ship. The young staff are focused, quick, and the place is clean. Operationally, well done. Burgers — awesome. Particularly the ‘homestyle’. Burgerville should send some of the brain trust over and observe how to execute hamburgers. Freakin’ delicious. These do not taste like other DQs. This is really a great, independent, burger joint that happens to have DQ ice cream. Negatives — One time, I ordered some tater tots(heck yeah!). It came in the DQ paper box-thingy. It was half full. I went to the counter gal and said ‘Hey, it’s half full’. She looked into my box and said, ‘Yeah, you get 12′. 12? So, I said, ‘Can I pay extra get the larger size then?’. She said, ‘Sure, you get 16 in that one’. Potatoes are cheap. It was like portion-control on crack. That needs fixing. Looking for old school drive in food that actually tastes good? This is the place. Great neighborhood feel too.

Another place of my childhood. In my search for a replacement for the McArthur DQ I have found none. This DQ is unlike any I have ever been to. If you eat in you will be served on actual dishes and their grilled cheese sandwiches are the best. Scott(the owner) does a great job and is always helpful as is the rest of the staff. The service is fast and the food is cooked to order.

Oh yeah, that’s real porcelain you’re eating off of. This is the only fast food place I’ve been to with dishes, I love it… it’s quirky. Also the mismatched décor and the equipment a la 1965 gives it that certain je né sais quoi.
