It was horrible! I had sweet and sour chicken, egg roll, and fried rice. The food looked and tasted like it had been in the back of the freezer and heated up. The only thing I did like was the sauce. I couldn’t even eat the food. I paid 18.50 for food I didn’t even eat. I will never go there again.

Best Chinese food and price that I’ve had for a long time. I don’t like the restaurant however. It is scary looking. The door to the resturant isn’t obvious we. Mistakenly walked into the bar at first. The bar is very very loud when inside the restraunt. So all in all the food is good but the restaurant is bad. They do deliver and so I will be doing that from now on.

Been here twice for take out. S&S Chicken has been the best I’ve had in Vancouver during the last 11 years I’ve lived here. Other items are above average as well. My current go to place for take out!

I will never patronize this bar again! I was there for 2 hours and could not get a drink or food unless my male companion ordered for me. I stood at the bar 3 separate times. Once for a menu, and twice trying to order rounds for my table. I thought they were just having an off day but then a man walked up to the bar next to me and says hey can I get a drink, right after the barmaid just told me I was not being served because it was shift change, and she gave it to him! So why did she serve him? Why couldn’t I get a drink or food unless a man ordered for me? I think it’s obvious. ALLLADIESANDTHEMENTHATLOVETHEMMUSTBOYCOTTTHISBAR!!!

The bar has a horrible dirty diaper smell, especially near the jukebox. I seriously looked all around for a dirty diaper. I did not find one but nonetheless, there is a horrid smell. I have not eaten here in years but have went in a couple of times to have a drink. Both times the place was empty except for a couple of people at the bar. The drinks are strong but the atmosphere and the smell are not worth the strong drink. I am done with the place and I really have no idea why it is still open. I know they were pretty busy on the weekends due to Randy but I have not heard of anybody going there for years for that and have no idea if he is still playing there.

This place needs a make over. So out dated. The last few times I have been here they have had a new bartender. They need to change. 6−7−14 the one they had will kiss your ass to your face but will bad mouth you to others. She was very foolish and ran her mouth to my friend. She wasn’t able to make a drink correctly. Instead of doing it the right way she poured out half and tried to fix make it from one that wasn’t right to start with. They charge just as much for a non alcohol drink as one with. No free coffee for DD. The waitress isnt any good either. Last couple haven’t. Takes way to long to get drinks and hardly ever comes back to check if you need another. Good thing you have to get your own drinks you dont have to spend money on tips. I do enjoy going and listening to live music. Randy is great to listen to. I will always go back for that.

I came here with my grandpa & mom. My grandpa thought it was fine(probably because my grandma had been in the hospital for 2 weeks & all he had ate was hospital food) However, my mom & I were not impressed. This is below average Chinese food. It stunk in there. Probably dirty, you would never know since it is so dark in there. I should have known it was going to be a bad experience when it was lunch time &2 other people were in there. That was it! Whoever was our waitress should not be working any job with customer service as a requirement. She was perhaps maybe the most unfriendliest person I have met so far in my joinery through life. So now the food. I ordered stir fry chicken. Never in my life have I had greasy stir fry till I ate here! I order stir fry at every Chinese, street cart, and teriyaki place I go. Then there was my poor mom. My mom loves American Chinese food. She always orders pineapple or orange chicken. My mom & I have ate at a LOT of Chinese restaurants. She even use to work at one for like 5 years. She ordered the pineapple chicken. It came with MUSHROOMS! Never in her 40+ years has that dish ever came with mushrooms in it. The menu did not say what was in things, so she didn’t even think to ask. If my mom even thought there might be mushrooms in something she always asks & have them taken out. Okay cool, we can just ask for something else. Oh NO. The unfriendly waitress said to pick them out. My mom politely asked if they can make her another plate without mushrooms. Again the waitress said no, you can pick them out. I don’t ever ask for food to be recooked or brought back to the kitchen. Somehow the words sternly came out of my mouth for the waitress to please make another dish. My mom can’t pick them out, she is allergic & there is oil left behind. Finally she did. Then we never saw her again at our table, we had to walk up to her & ask if we could pay our bill.

I read the review. which were OLD. and I must say i was a little worried. BUT they deliver and are close. The food was really good on a whole. We had the the make your own combo’s. so we had: Sweet and Sour Pork and Chicken… both were good. no complaints at all. Not the really red stuff or the really bell peppery stuff. the General Tsao was not my favorite. Not much heat and not sure what the flavor is but not something I would order again. Egg Roll was really good and the BBQ Pork was BBQ pork. moist though so that is good. Crab Puffs were nice too. Good balance of filling to wonton. BBQ Spareribs were okay. Which coming from me probably means they were really good because I dont like them and I ate like four of them. The Pork Chow Mein was really good also. good flavor. The delivery charge was $ 4 which I think is a little expensive if they want a good tip. I have ordered from Taste of Asia also and if I had to pick I would probably do Chopsticks again even thought Taste of Asia is good and you get more food for your money. Happy I ordered :)

The food is awful. I got take-out.I could barely eat it. Their is no one at the desk to take your order. They changed owners about 4 years ago. The good was great then. They over charge you now too.

Chopsticks is a little hole in the wall Chinese restaurant that I have gone to from time to time since I moved to the Pacific Northwest 11 years ago. When we first started, they were great! The food was good, prices were good, and the people knew us on site. My understanding is that a year or two ago the restaurant was sold, and unfortunately, it seems things have changed. I had an appointment nearby and went to have lunch there. This restaurant is now, in my opinion, a candidate for Gordon Ramsey’s show«Kitchen Nightmares». First, it took over 15 minutes of waiting, going to the bar and asking if anyone was in the restaurant, and then waiting another 10 minutes to get seated. The waitress was friendly, but the food was not what I remember. The other thing I noticed was the condition of the restaurant overall. As far back as I can remember it has always been a little dated, but that was fine. Now it’s just downright dirty. You walk in the door and there is an odd smell, not really bad, but it’s there. There is a broken pay phone booth and a broken lottery machine in the hallway to the reception. When you get to the front counter where you wait(and wait, and wait) there is an old poster behind it of the changes to US money from several years ago. There is an electronic motion artwork picture, which is turned off or broken. It’s just not taken care of any more.

This used to be THE place for good Chinese food. It’s a little hole in the wall, been here as long as I can remember(ATLEAST30+ yrs! I remember eating there as a young kid!). The prices are decent, the servings good and big. You always know what you are going to get. Well, unfortunately, this place also has let some of its success go to its head, too, methinks. Every once in a while we get a good server. Usually tho, it’s the same gal(I think she is one of the owners?). She may not mean to, but she comes across kind of rude. When we arrive, we always have to wait about 15 minutes or so before someone comes to the front counter to seat/serve/even recognize our presence. We usually have to go in the bar to let them know we want service. Once we are seated, we are hardly ever checked on. I know my husband has had to go ‘search down’ the gal again, just to place our order, get tea or water refills, etc. And it’s not like they are busy when we go in there, either. Usually we are the only ones in the restaurant part. Another thing that’s kind of annoying: my husband and I usually share a dish. Yeah, we’re both«big people», but since losing a lot of weight, one dish shared is more than enough for us, esp Chinese food(and with take-home leftovers!). But whenever we order, she always insists one dish is not enough for two people. She does this even when I come in to order take-out also. Really, lady, I only want one dish. If I think I’m hungry enough to down one of those huge platters on my own, believe me, I’ll let ya know and order another. *sigh* One thing I’ve always loved about this place was their fried shrimp and their«red sauce». I could not find a good place to find those two menu items other than here. So I would suffer through the bad service just to order take-out and get those items. Well, that is until we found out about the House of Beijing on St John’s Road.(The best EVER!) So, now, we have bid farewell to Chopsticks, the favorite Chinese restaurant of my childhood. I’m sorry to say you have finally been replaced! I hope you guys can turn the place around and bring back its glory days! One bonus plus I must mention: The bar is usually pretty good, tho dark(as you might expect). Total dive bar, but comfy. They also offer FREE fried food spread in the bar if you’re drinking in there. Yeah, FREE food! No limit! It’s kind of a ‘hit-or-miss” tho. Still good as a «dive» place. The memories of what it used to are what is keeping it afloat, I think.

I can’t say that I’ve ever eaten AT Chopsticks, I can say that the food is pretty standard as far as Chinese food goes. But what I like best is that they deliver. John, the delivery guy is great and the food is always hot and fresh.

I’m so sad! This place was once a nice little hole in the wall restaurant with decent food. Now, whether due to change in management or who knows, its terrible. We ordered take out last night and every single item had a problem, though the one that really stood out was the lack of deveining the shrimp. Each and every shrimp received had the little black vein down the back. Yuck!!! Sorry to say we are done with chopsticks!

Salt anyone? I just cannot seem to find a good chinese restaurant in the Vancouver area. Their menu is fantastic. They have combos already set for you and a «make your own combo» section that has a good price. I ordered pork chow mein, sweet and sour chicken, and crab puffs for my combo. The chicken was great but it just comes in a little bowl which only gives you about 5 pieces. The crab puffs must have been frozen in a bag then brought out because they were rubbery and tiny. The chow mein was so incredibly salty. I might as well have been sticking my spoon in the salt shaker! The only reason this place gets two stars is because the staff is very friendly. The waitress we had made sure we always had enough water, soda, and tea. Plus she kept checking to make sure we had all of what we needed.
