Remember that Chinese restaurant used to go to as a kid in the 70’s or early80’s? What do you know! I found it here in Vancouver. The food was quite tasty. We had wonton soup which was full of delicious pork chicken and yummy wontons. The shrimp with blackbean sauce was also tasty. It included mostly American vegetables such as green and red peppers carrots and celery but it was also very flavorful. The service was quite adequate. Make sure if you go you check out the lounge. It’s like going back in a time machine. The only difference was it wasn’t smoky but the people look like they were dressed to pick up manner women and we’re still looking the same as they would’ve 30 years ago! I hope you have a chance to try this restaurant. If you’re in the mood for classic American Chinese cuisine. They even have an American menu with grilled cheese! Enjoy!

Came here for lunch and they had great prices! We got there when it opened and the lady was super nice! Plus, plenty of parking! The lunch comes with soup, lo mein and fried rice. IMO, the lo mein is really more of a chow mein noodle(the thick type). Both the rice and the noodles were the standard taste anywhere else. My mom got the Cashew Shrimp and I got the Beef Broccoli. Both of them were fantastic!!! My mom said she was looking for a new go to Chinese place and said this was it. The portions were also very generous and a family style meal here would be awesome to do.

I was so happy to find out there is an authentic Chinese Restaurant in Vancouver WA. Straight from Canton China, vis SF. Everything is fresh. Don’t let the outside of the building fool you ;) — BC

Amazing food! Generous portions very kind to substitute out items that we do not prefer to have. Reasonable prices in a quiet atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

This is place is Fantasticlly awesome! # 1 the location is great. we really needed a nice chinese returant in this up and coming neighboorhood. I had them cater for an event I had to host 100 for. I had called around to several resturants here in Vancouver & Portland They had the best price for catering in both vancouver & inner North/NEportland They did a geat job. they did not skimp on the meat in my dishes that I ordered, and everyone loved the food. people kept asking where did you order this from? who made this? I would prodly state«China Cook!» I hope to have them cater for me if I have another event in the future

Food was good. So was the service. When I asked how a dish was prepared, I got to speak with a knowledgeable person. I had the beef and green beans. It was great! My friend had the sesame chicken and it was even better than mine. Prices were reasonable. They deliver. Restaurant was clean. Menu had a great selection.

Heard tons of raves about here, so decided to give it ago. We were the only ones there, probably because we came during lunch on 4th of July. The portions were huge and really good. Their hot tea had a lovely flavor. Didn’t care for the salads they bring out. They automatically bring you out water as well, which is great. Wish I would of known that there was going to be a lemon wedge in it though. I’m guessing if you agree to the hot tea, they just assume you want nothing else to drink, because no one ever came back for a drink order. So, I recommend ordering drinks as soon as they ask you what you would like because as soon as you done saying food order they zoom off before you can mention you’d like something to drink. They have a very large drink menu, hope to try it sometime! The egg rolls were over cooked but had great flavor and they had some of the best beef and broccoli! Lo mein with pan fried noodles were wonderful as well. Usually I don’t like the bbq pork at places, but theirs was fabulous! Really like the fact they bring red sauce and hot mustard out in COLD squeeze bottles and let you do your own! :) egg flower soup was very tasty, just didn’t care for the Huge chunks of tofu. Smaller would of been nice. Staff were friendly. Will def return!

I was taking my grandmother out to lunch a couple days ago. We had heard of a newer Chinese place and decided to give it a try, we were quickly dissapointed by the food. As it was food I had seen at other restaurants, so it was likely it was just frozen pre-cooked food, instead of fresh made. The restaurant was also quite dirty, with a whole table covered in trash by the entryway to the kitchen. The service was also bad, there were only two waitstaff there during lunch hours. However, the portions were huge and neither of us could finish our meals. Later however, both my grandmother and I got sick and I had to forego dinner. If you’re really hungry and are willing to just eat anything, by all means go ahead and eat here, but otherewise, find a different place.
Fast delivery, the guy at my door hit a snag with the credit card swiper but quickly solved the problem. Couldn’t order a combo dinner due to functionality problems on their website, but I was able to put in the order online with no phone. I got an app sampler(it was decent) hot n sour soup(excellent) egg foo yung(sauce was ok, egg foo young was good) and a happy family(good.) Great delivery option in Vancouver.

Been coming here since last year to where they know us when we come in. Always great food, the people here and their personalities are always in great moods. I’ve recommended China Cook to several other people and they come here for the same reasons as us… regardless if we are coming from the Hillsboro area, as it’s worth the drive! Be sure to come with a huge appetite as the portions are plentiful with enough to take home for another meal. Dragon and Phoenix, House Fried Rice and Sesame Chicken are our usual.

Would not recommend this place, Asked for extra hot, so what did they do, poured extra sauce on it so it was so salty I didn’t even want to eat it. And I like and always salt my food! So the restaurant uses a premade sauce, and when you order ex hot, you get a salt brick! Stupid, what about peppers, and freshly made sauce, I can buy sauce and do that at home. Pork was good, hot sour soup good! But my vote is thumbs down

Decided to try this place tonight instead of my favorite Chinese food restaurant, wasn’t very impressed. they do offer large amounts of food but what Chinese restaurant doesnt? Food came out fast and hot. Not very friendly, best thing they have going for them is the tea…

Found a second Chinese gold mine in Vancouver tonight. First time ordering and I must say hands down 5 stars of deliciousness. Very friendly, speedy delivery and massive portions good enough for leftovers. Highly recommend it. I must say don’t judge the book by its cover

Amazing Chinese food, and huge portions! A bit of a longer wait than expected for take out, but they were very friendly about it, and did advise that they were busy. The plate of food lasted me three days.

I have tried many different Chinese restaurants in Vancouver. I walked into China Cook, not expecting much. Inside, it reminded me of the Bills of my childhood. New color scheme seemed to be the only difference. I scanned the menu. The time was late lunch. I did not see any combination plates. I orderedce Sesame Shrimp. It was so delicious and piping hot.(Heat wise) There was so much shrimp. It was tasty and cooked right. It had a delicious sesame sauce on top. Complementary hot and sour or egg flower soup and a small salad of lettuce was served. Water with a slice of lemon was refreshing. All of that for 10.50 plus tax.

Tons of American-style Chinese food, super cheap. Kind, smiley and prompt service. They serve a small plate of iceberg lettuce with a sweet sesame vinaigrette(that is a guess) along with the soup for combos. It’s not very good and I would suggest they ditch it. The hot and sour was ok taste wise but the broth was a bit too thick and not enough veggies and tofu in my portion for my liking. The entrees were good and it seemed the meat and vege were fresh and of good quality, but there was an over abundance of green onions on everything(lo mein, entrée, etc). I was super happy with the tenderness of the beef in the Mongolian Beef. I think it’s kinda neat that they serve their combos with lo mein and fried rice and they give you a crab puff instead of just a won ton like other places. So, this place has some good things going and some areas where they could improve. A solid 3!

The food is delicious. Me and my wife ordered take out and it did take about 20 minutes for our order to be ready but it was worth the wait. Our food was cooked fresh and was absolutely amazing. I ordered the combination dinner #10(General Taos, pork fried rice, shrimp & an egg roll) and my wife ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimp which was served on a fresh bed of perfectly steamed broccoli and a side of steamed rice. The service was great and I will definitely be returning very soon. :)

This is not an easy review for me. I am somewhat biased as this place used to be my beloved neighborhood Sunday dive, and in its reincarnation as China Cook restaurant I see echoes of the old Bill’s Chicken & Steak House that make me all squishy sentimental inside for fried chicken and Coors. First off — this is American Chinese. And you get LOTS of it. They load down your plate like you were going off to war tomorrow and this was the last home cooked meal you’re going to see for lord knows how long. The staples are pretty run of the mill — fried things, vaguely asian sauces, a bit of veg-all in the chow mein. It’s not gourmet, but for what it is it is fairly good. The service is solid — some of the new waiters are still learning, and some of the old Bill’s staff is on hand to help smooth things out. The lounge is still wood paneling decorated with roosters and a 30 year old bird of paradise carpet, but the bar back has been supplemented with an additional flat screen TV for the sports fans. The main dining room looks basically as it did as an old people’s restaurant, albeit with shiny new orange booth seats. For your ambient amusement, the songs of Lionel Ritchie and Richard Marx ooze gently out of hidden speakers somewhere in the barn struts holding up the knotty pine ceiling. The tables come with salt & pepper and soy sauce and surprisingly, with sesame seeds. One thing missing in the presentation is chili sauce/oil/flakes/etc — China Cook if you’re listening hook your customers up with a lil’ spice, please. I want to give it 4 stars, but I know in my heart it’s only 3 — and that other guy who gave it the blatantly false«i’ve eaten Chinese food all over the world and this is the best ever»(Let me guess, you eat at malls all over the world?) 5 star review will average this out to a solid 4. Good luck CC — you’re my new neighborhood go-to for lazy Sunday lunch.
