Best breakfast in town. I hate eggs. I mean hate them. They came with my meal, so I tried them. How can they make eggs taste delicious? I don’t know, but they did. Everything was amazing: pancakes, biscuits & gravy, had browns. The décor was adorable inside & out and the service was on point. Portions were huge. My only complaint is that there was so much food, I couldn’t make room for any of the beautiful desserts that welcomed us when we came in. Our new favorite family restaurant. Thank you for coming to Vancouver, Black Bear. This town is really lacking in good places to eat.

It’s just not good at all. The service was a joke. Our server came by a couple of times and said«are you guys ok?» and would immediately turn and leave, before we could answer. It actually became a joke with our kids to try and see if they could get a word out before she ran off. Fast food places have more properly trained employees than this place. I ordered a salad, I specifically asked the server if it was just cheap bag salad and she assured me it wasn’t), however, it was totally iceberg bag salad, with the purple cabbage and dry carrots, pretty sad. I also ordered a berry pie, it was not as bad, but still not good. My husband ordered chicken and waffles just for fun, the«chicken» was seriously the quality of those pressed and formed, kids, dinosaur nuggets. He has gotten better from gas station hot plates. If you hate good food, and good service, and you love sloppy, lazy, bland food, and being ignored, then head on down to this place.

This review is strictly for this location. My husband travels for a work a lot so we have been to quite a few black bear diners(we went to the location in bullhead city, az quite often). We were never disappointed, but sadly this one let us down. My husband got the bacon cheeseburger, he said it was delicious but it was so much smaller than the burgers at the other locations. I ordered a side salad to start off and it was eh, not worth the $ 4.99. For dinner I ordered the chicken club with bacon and avocado. I was so disappointed. The chicken was so absolutely paper thin, and not only that but it was dried out like chicken jerky. They added a third piece of bread in the middle and a ton of lettuce. I didn’t want that much bread so I simply just took out the middle piece, but if you didn’t, all you would taste would be bread and lettuce. One half of my sandwich actually didn’t even have the tomato and bacon. Like they forgot… It was really disappointing. I’m hoping maybe it’s because they are a new location, and we plan on trying them for breakfast later on, and hopefully they get it together because we were so excited for the new location in our home town.

Good dinner staples. Huge savings. Our waitress was SOGREAT! She brought out my 5 yo daughter’s items as soon as they were ready before mine without even asking. So great with kids. It’s a go to family restaurant.

A disappointment not living up to the expectation that I have for this brand have visited several of the other locations. Maybe because is new and the team is new. To be specific here are two examples my biscuit and gravy, the gravy was cold and tasted as if he come straight from a can on top of that not enough gravy barely enough for one so it was dry biscuit. The team does not play well together, I’m seating at the counter when one team member asked for«Singer» for a birthday table only o couple people joined and the rest laugh at him, and when he left for a few of the other members even made some smart a* comments about having to sing stupid birthday song. I hope management reads this and reminds the staff that they are in the service industry, and provide more training.

Came here for late breakfast on a Sunday. It was amazing!!! The biscuits are huge! I don’t like regular bacon(turkey bacon is all I usually eat) but loved theirs. Best bacon I’ve ever had. The country fried potatoes were so tasty. Service and food were great. My new favorite place for breakfast. I will have to go back and try it for lunch and dinner as well as the menu options all looked delicious.

This place is nasty. Take your money and go to sharis or Denny’s. They give you large portions of food. The cornbread is terrible too.

Manager(you know who you are) asked my daughter during her interview if she would color her hair«more brown».(She’s a redhead) What kind of people are running this place?! Sorry, but I, my friends, my family, and my co-workers will never, ever set foot in there.

The food was average chain diner food. Good place for families. My husband and I both got the tri tip dip. It wasn’t bad, just nothing memorable. We tried the onion rings, fries and chips. No question, get the chips every time. But really nothing was so great that I would feel the need to come back. The service: First I will say everyone was really nice. However, we had 4 different waiters show up to our table throughout and none of them knew what the others were doing to help us. We had a waiter come ask what we wanted to drink and then we never seen him again, or the drinks. Then we had another come and actually get our drinks, then yet another who we later found out was our actual waitress. Just really bazar. It was a Friday night and there was plenty of seats open and they were WAY over staffed with no direction. It was the most chaotic thing to watch. When we left, I counted eight girls behind the register. Eight! And that was just at the register in the front. There were so many employees, yet you waited so long for everything. Honestly we had a few really good laughs at the ridiculousness. Overall, I wouldn’t return. It seems they really need some management present to whip it into shape.

Just what we need, another white-bread, fattening, no flavor, lots of fried food chain-restaurant in Vancouver. What?! We have Sharis and the Stardust Diner. Why this place in an area that needs some fun, creative and decent food? I guess they did their market research and found us out. Anything that is not a chain and has healthy food, with flavor and creativity doesn’t last in Vancouver. This restaurant food was unimaginative, no flavors, slimy lunch meat, no fresh foods, all frozen from Sysco and then thawed out, cut up or made up for your horrible dining pleasure. Everything you order at Black Bear Diner can be bought in the frozen food section of your local grocery store and made at home by either deep frying, or leaving the bag open on bread until it turns hard.

This place is . Let me just say that I am a royal B when it comes to breakfast but I truly, truly enjoyed this restaurant. They’ve done a phenomenal job of the culture, environment and especially, the staff. I came alone and hungover and I was very pleasantly surprised by how amazingly my day turned around. My breakfast came to me so fast, and my waitress made absolutely sure I was happy with what I got. I also got a side of bacon and it’s the best bacon I’ve ever tasted, hands down. No exaggeration necessary. Goodnight.

Would you like some meatloaf with your gravy? I just had my first experience of Bearpaw Diner. Let me make this super clear, the staff are amazing. The server Cherry was so wonderful! But the food? not so much. Feeling a need for some comfort food, I ordered the meatloaf with mash! what I got was a thin slice of lukewarm spam swimming in gravy, accompanied with mash potatoes that tasted like the tap water they were cooked in. I can’t talk about the gravy, it makes me want to throw up in my mouth a little. I scraped off the gravy and ate one bite of potatoes and one bite of the spam loaf. That’s all I could manage. My son who ordered cheese pizza, could only manage one slice, it tasted awful too. However, my daughters chose an all day breakfast item and loved it. Note to self, visit the diner for breakfast and stay away from everything else!

Unimpressed and disappointed. Service was lackluster and slow, but pleasant. Food was lukewarm at best. Two of the three in our party chose not to finish their meal. Portioning was plentiful. Will we return: Not limely.

Came exited. Didn’t disappoint. I had breakfast, that well it was breakfast. My wife got a monster taco salad that looks awesome. Friend got a sandwich. everything was fresh and good. Pancakes are like crazy good. this is a good fresh change to the normal northwest chain restaurants.

We had a great meal and our server Nicole was the best! Only complaint was the younger inexperienced girls figuring out the seating chart. I was in line with a bunch of people for a couple minutes before one of them looked up and asked«are you ready to pay?» We will be back though.

Perfectly fine diner, in the same vein as Shari’s and Elmer’s but much better. Will go back again when in the mood for breakfast-for-dinner or a burger and fries. Also, they make French Toast out of a bear-claw pastry if that’s your jam.

This is the fourth Black Bear Diner location I’ve been to. And it’s certainly the Black Bearest one of them all. I LOVE the inside décor. They went full black bear. And it makes for a very unique experience. Had some opening day hiccups, such as food taking a little bit too long to come out(seven of us in the party so can understand a longer wait time) and some more frequent then desired checks for water refills. But the food was great, the price wasn’t too bad, and the experience is top notch. Also love the outside décor.
