Came here for $ 1 taco Tuesday. The tacos were so good and a great deal. I want to make this place part of my Tuesday ritual. Definitely coming back!

After a long day of work, with an hour of lunch with coworkers that wanted to disengage from work for our lunch break. some coworkers wanted Mexican food and others wanted American so we decided to walk down Van Nuys Blvd and down victory toward kester and we came across Te Amo which sold American and Mexican. both we’re perfect in seasoning, And I remember my Mexican co-worker pointing out«my mom tried to show my wife this but she failed. » all in all we had a great lunch and good vibes with the great music and staff … this is our new lunch spot!

First time here … Looks very cute ! I felt like I was at home with the décor and color scheme. I’m from orange county and I would drive back here just to have these tacos again … I ordered 1 asada 1 caritas 1 lengua and everything about it was awesome ! … The meats were very juicy tender and flavorful and they didn’t hold back on the serving you could literally make two tacos out of each taco. The only down side is that there isn’t parking I had to pay at a public parking spot $ 2 after 2 pm. but still. I definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area or really anyone that likes good food…

Well… let’s just say it’s nothing special… it’s your typical hole in the wall Mexican food joint. You get exaxtly what you expect. Nothing cute or whimsical about this place at all. Don’t get me wrong, the food is not bad! It’s good. It’s beans and rice and meat… and salsa… how hard is it to get that right, right?! You get a good meal though. Servings are quite large. 3.5 stars!!!

Out door seating with yummy authentic food! Clean establishment with good Latin tunes and good service. Simple and amazing as a local Mexican spot should be.

Pretty disappointed with the service. The guy that took my order and the cook were engaged in their own personal conversation. Me and my wife were waiting forever. I finally stood up to observe them. The guys were lagging it doing NOTHING. I asked if they were almost done with my food. 25 minutes to make a wet burrito. The good was disappointing

I ordered for pickup 4 chicken tacos two asada tacos. The tacos are okay they are lacking in flavor. The ingredients are Fresh. The salsas were also lacking in flavor. This place is OK. They look very clean and the food is fresh but it lacks flavor.

Holy frijoles, I love a good Mexican egg and this place does it great! The first time I went, I wanted the Chili Relleno(one of my favorite dishes) and they only had one so they couldn’t make the dish. Instead, I got the Huevos Divorciados. I have never had that(how did I not know about it?!) and sweet Moses, the eggs were runnily cooked to perfection. The salsas were great, and I’m not usually a fan of Mexican rice sides but even that was good! Perhaps because they felt bad that they couldn’t serve me what I ordered, or perhaps because they want to make me a return customer, they did make one of the Chili Rellenos for me anyway. I ended up taking it back with me since the Huevos had been enough. But my goodness, when I heated up the next day I had no idea what kind of wonderful sensations my mouth go through. The egg-y batter on the outside of that chili is the lightest and fluffiest I have ever had in my life. It was cooked to perfection itself. I went back a second time and ordered that dish– just as good as the first time. I have also ordered the shrimp and fish tacos. I know that most people seem to love the tacos, and the shrimp taco was really cooked excellently(not overdone, moist, and with a nice pop). But in my book, this place does eggs like no one else! I will absolutely be back and look forward to it!

Pleasantly surprised with this little hole in the wall taco stand. Had 3 tacos: grilled fish, carnitas, and veggie and all were very good! Fish was my fave — it was the biggest portion and had the most flavor thanks to the chipotle cream sauce. Fish was $ 2 and the others were $ 1.50. The house made horchata was a little too sweet to my liking and I didn’t drink much of it. There’s metered street parking. Definitely will return to try more dishes. Everything tasted very freshly made. p. s. Came back a couple days later and tried a Cabeza(beef cheeks) taco. Very tender meat similar to short ribs. And I found out they deliver!!!

This place is honestly a gem in the area, the food is real and its not like the other 20 Mexican restaurants selling Costco canned food. The shrimp burrito is a must along with the grilled chicken. The décor reminds me of Tijuana home restaurants, love it!

Order for delivery well it was promptly delivered! But as I was enjoying my meal I found paper in it, not us that disgusting but it look like it was the type of wax paper that separates pieces of meat!..

Mole was not good at all! Anyone who’s tastes authentic mole knows that it’s sweet ANDSPICY! The mole was extremely sweet! The horchata wasn’t good either. :(

NOMEGUSTA!!! Te amoooo you lured me in on a rainy day for your cheap(less than $ 2 average) tacos and you fed me deceit! How could you!!! The ambiance even on a windy Saturday beckoned patronage, and we did so willingly. The wait for shrimp/fish tacos did take a cool minute but we waited in the cold for what we thought would be pure delight… Got home 10 mins later, bags dripping with rain jizz and Te Amo tacos waiting to be unwrapped… I dived in BELLYFIRST into the most bland, but moist shredded chicken tacos I’ve ever experienced. 0 flavor, no spice no ROMANCE! Just moist shreds of flavorless chicken in a soggy shell. The lettuce and cheese saved it but I knew this would bode well. I also purchased two regular tacos, which still lacked flavor but also moistness. The driest tacos I’ve even gone belly deep for. My friends were equally disappointed. Ceviche = no flavor, beef tacos… NOFLAVOR… maybe the rain washed away all our taste buds or just maybe they really had NOFLAVOR. I want to love you cause your so cute and nearby but I’m not feeling the mutual love Te amo…

This is my second time here and at first I was a fan. Their tacos have good flavor and the location is nice and clean. However, today one of my tacos was ALLFAT no meat. I cant believe the cook didnt notice, I think they just don’t care. Too bad I really like this place. I dont think I’ll be back.

Taco Tuesday!!! Although I was sad they were out of Cabeza(Beef Cheeks) I drowned my sorrows with 2 Asada, 2 Carnitas, 2 Pastor and 2 Lengua Tacos. The tacos are simple 2 corn tortillas, meat, cilantro and onion. There are a few salsas you can add on the bar but the Jalapeño(Green) was my favorite! As for the tacos the Lengua(Beef Tongue) impressed me the most. It’s hard to find a place no a days that cooks it property. Theirs was tender and packed with flavor. I am sure you can add cheese and lettuce but trust me they don’t need it! The only thing I didn’t like was my fresca. It tasted a tad bit watered down there was no clear pine apple or orange flavor but the Horchatta was good! Beyond that the staff is super friendly and took some time to suggest items for our next visit. Yes the Cabeza tacos are first on that list.

I love that I can walk to this fantastic & inexpensive place! *** This review first appeared on *** Gaily painted in tomato red and pumpkin orange, Te Amo Tacos is a neat little taco stand that recently opened in Van Nuys, on the south side of Victory, just west of Van Nuys Boulevard. Such a sweet and friendly place, they have built a little outdoor courtyard around the taco stand, providing ample shade for hot days. Everything there is made to order using high-quality ingredients and offered at reasonable prices. All the soft tacos cost $ 1.50(except for the divine camarón /shrimp ones, $ 2.50). At the high end of the menu are the shrimp and fish combination plates that come with rice and beans, and they’re priced around $ 10.50. Here you can find truly superb Mexican fare — soft tacos such as asada, carnitas, pastor and pollo /chicken. My favorites are the cabeza /beef cheeks and the camarón /shrimp tacos — these are plump and spicy with a hint of chipotle cream, smothered in thinly sliced red and green cabbage, onions and topped with grated cheese. You can get three accompanying sauces: red, jalapeño(creamy green), and tomatillo(pale green). The salsa is fresh and piquant. The guacamole is dreamy. The extensive menu features a whole range of Mexican delicacies, such as burritos, sopas, tortas, tostadas, flautas, taquitos and combination plates. High end selections include Mariscos /seafood and Bistec /steak, as they offer ceviche, fish filet, shrimp tacos and meals as well as top sirloin. All their food is resolutely non-greasy — even the beef is high-grade charbroiled ‘arrachera’ made from marinated skirt steak(which they cook on a grill rather than a grease-soaked griddle) instead of using lower grade ‘diesmillo’ that most places do. One standout is the Enchiladas de mole(chicken). The owner, Robert, told me that they make frequent trips across the border to source this special mole. Made from spices, chiles and dried fruit, this unusual mole originated in Xico, a small town in Veracruz, in eastern Mexico. While Te Amo Tacos opens at 10AM, they do offer choices for a late breakfast such as burrito, chilaquiles and huevos con jamon /eggs with ham. Taco Tuesday special offer of $ 1 tacos, but with all soft tacos priced at $ 1.50(except for the shrimp ones, $ 2.50) every day is a bargain at Te Amo Tacos. Te Amo Tacos 14504 Victory Boulevard, Van Nuys 818−787−8440 *** Taco Tuesday special offer of $ 1 tacos *** Open Monday – Saturday, 10:00 am – tends to close early… Call first! Closed on Sundays. Metered street parking available.
