I took my motorcycle to B&E Honda to have faulty wiring repaired on my motorcycle. The repairs were not done properly and may have caused more damage. I brought my 1985 cb650 honda motorcycle to B&E Honda to have the wiring repaired. The motorcycle had previously been repaired poorly at G&G cycles(also filed a bbb report approx 2 – 3 earlier) and had no working turn signals, tail, or brake lights when I brought it in. B&E said they normally would not work on this old of a motorcycle but were nice enough to make an exception. I purchased turn signals and a turn signal/headlight switch from B&E and requested they also be installed. Since they did not have a brakelight available for my age of motorcycle I had to order one online. I asked that they simply leave the wiring labeled and ready to just plug-in to the brake light. They fixed the motorcycle within 3 – 4 weeks and left the wires ready for my brake light as requested. I had initially planned to sell the motorcycle while on a vacation in austin tx. I received the brakelight just before leaving and planned on plugging it in when I arrived in Austin. When I got there and plugged in the brakelight it did not work properly. When I went to check the fuses to make sure everything was ok there I realized that an «in-line» fuse that B&E installed was completely full of water(approx 1 oz.). I immediately drained the fuse and allowed the motorcycle to remain dry for 3 – 4 days. When I turned on the motorcycle the turn signals no longer worked. Since I am not qualified in being a mechanic it is impossible for me to diagnose what went wrong, but I suspected it may be something as simple as a blown fuse. I was unable to sell the motorcycle and upon returning to Valparaiso(approx 30 – 40 days after the the repair by B&E was completed) I took the motorcycle back to B&E and asked if they. I could take a look at it. The service manager who had previously been very amicable, immediately became rude and defensive stating that they shouldn’t have even repaired the bike in the first place. He also stated that since the mechanic who did the reapairs no longer worked there and could not defend himself that he would not even look at the repairs to see if they were done incorrectly. I was extremely non-confrontational but the service manager kept becoming more and more aggressive until he eventually demanded I leave the store and not leave the motorcycle. He then stated that the owner, Dustin Erwin, would be calling me to detrmine any resolution in the matter. I waited 3 days then called and left a message for Dustin to please return my call regarding this issue. I have yet to receive a return call and was made to feel unwelcome to return to the store. I am not typically someone that complains. I even worked at Buck’s power sports just up the highway before they went out of business. I am very familiar with the industry and how to conduct myself in customer service situations even when dealing with someone that is being less than professional. This was certainly the case with the situation at B&E only their employee was more than unprofessional and rude. I understand everyone has bad days and this must have been one of his but I was astounded that he refused to even look at the repairs and would ask me to leave the store. We are a family of motorcycle and atv riders that have never encountered these type of problems with any dealership and in fact purchased our first dirt bikes from B&E. To be treated this way while being an extremely patient, understanding, and long-time customer is completely unacceptable.
