I live in San Diego but drive all the way to Los Angeles to get my weaves installed by Jazmayne and have been doing so for years. I even have my sister hooked on Jazmayne’s weaves, so we carpool together and she knocks both of our hair out in the same day. She is fast and does a remarkable job. I have never had a stylist touch my hair and I not need to fix not even one strand. I call her a hair God because I swear my mood absolutely depends on how good my hair looks and her weaves always have me feeling myself. Not to mention, she has growing hands. I have heard stories of other girls taking out their weave install and there hair is damaged and broken off but every time I take out my hair it is healthy and there’s obvious length. Her prices are high but worth every penny because her technique keeps your weave in longer and you don’t have to worry about tracks slipping. She recommends her clients to only hair company’s that she herself uses and gives you lots of tips as well as shows you what products to keep your hair looking shop fresh. I highly recommend her she is legit the best stylist in the valley.

LA is not the easiest place to find a black hair stylist… At least in the valley! Years ago I stumbled across this place and Jazmayne. Can i just say I dont at all take care of my hair and without Jazmayne… I’d be bald for realz! She cares. Period.

I’ve been going to Jazmayne for over five years she’s amazing! She is the only person I trust with my hair every time I go to Jazmayne she makes miracles happen. I have been wearing a u-part she custom made me for the past 6 months and I get compliments all the time about even when I Dont style it. It doesn’t look like a wig it looks like its my natural hair. She’s so sweet even does two of my friends extensions and my made my cousin a wig as well. Jazmayne is the Bomb!

WARNING!!! WARNING!!! WARNING!!! WARNING! Jazzmayne is the daughter of the owner and I must say, she is rude as hell!!! Her customer service isnt where it needs to be as a professional. She does great WIGS!!! But her attitude is crazy and not something you want to deal with while paying your hard earned money. She charged me 500 for a wig and it looked nothing like the wigs in her salon and she was rude about fixing it. I ended up going somewhere else and just as suspected, she put on a synthetic closure and it looks bad!!! I paid 150 which is the price of a human hair closure. When I spoke to her, she got pissed and went off on me!!! I don’t recommend going to Jazz!!! WARNING!!! WARNING!!!

The most realist and natural looking professional extensions I ever had period. Jazz is working on a Princess Crown for me to wear in between sewins and I’m going blonde this time. Everytime I get my hair done here I get compliments and I never feel anxious that my stylist is gonna screw up my hair. Jazz has a natural eye and good judgement so I trust her when I describe a look I want.

If you have literally ALL day to spend at the salon, then go ahead and visit, the ladies did quality work. I was there for 4 hours both times I went. My time is valuable. The sinks they have are uncomfortable and I couldn’t enjoy my wash. There is one of the workers kids outside selling food and drinks if you are hungry.

When I told my family and friends that I was moving to LA … they were excited and the next comment was, «Ummm…Who is going to do your hair?» Because they already know what time it is when it comes to me AND my hair! I have been a victim of a few horror stories when it comes to hair so I am extra careful when I let someone touch my hair! I was sad to leave my stylists that I had become comfortable with over the years, but I then I thought, I am sure I will find someone out in LA, how else are all those beautiful women looking fabulous! Fresh from NY, I was on the hunt for a new stylist … my hair believe it or not had taken on a new texture and was behaving much differently. I am not sure if it was all the changes or new climate, busy schedule or what … but I was even more skeptic about a new stylist ! With an upcoming event I woke up and said whoa I need my hair done, I had been reviewing a few places on Unilocal but I made the choice to contact Ms Tonya’s of Hollywood as all the reviews were positive and the clientele pictures looked great! I called in on a Friday morning, last minute! And I was thinking there’s no way I am going to be able to see someone today or tomorrow but I will give it a shot… the receptionist was very friendly and put a stylist on the line. I wasn’t sure whom I was speaking with at the time but she was very friendly, asked the right questions, and totally understood the service I was seeking. Better yet! She was able to fit me in that afternoon! Wow! With that conversation, I was put at ease and made my way to the salon excited to be beautified! Upon arrival I sat and spoke again with my stylist Javetta… again she made me feel very welcomed and comfortable that she was going to care of and style my hair as requested. Javetta was a sweetheart, a pleasure to work with and quite honestly my new stylist! I loved my hair! I walked out of there with shiny, bouncy beautiful hair! I couldn’t have been more pleased. And my boyfriend couldn’t stop complimenting my locks … Ladies, go see Javetta! PS: This review is on services provided to my natural hair. I also discussed a style with Javetta including some extensions for my next visit, and she totally understood my vision. I will update with pictures, once I get my new style! :-)

I’ve been here a few times now, which is a lot for me because it’s been hard to find a good stylist in LA. I went off previous Unilocal reviews to get my first partial weave(ever) and Jazmine did such a great job and was professional in answering all my questions as well. I went in a second time for my first full weave experience and I ended up having a bad reaction to the hair and wasn’t too comfortable with the style of it. Jazmine responded to me immediately(late night too which I really appreciated). She consulted with me on different remedies and then she took my appointment and offered to completely re-do my hair when most other stylists would not take the time to do. She just took Really good care of my hair and was really comforting when I got upset, she’s a rare talent and is really caring. I feel really comfortable with her and her team and I think in a town like this it’s great to know there’s a talented stylist not just looking to rob your wallet. I’ve definitely found my new spot.

Called very early and left a message. Tonya called me back right away and set me up with Jazz(stylist). I spoke to Jazz and she was not scheduled to come in, but was happy to accomodate me. I asked for maintenance on a short cut, with my challenging Halle Berry photos for reference. Jazz was very attentive to all of my concerns and did an amazing job, exceding my expectations. I will be back, and would definitely reccomend this salon. A relaxed, fun environment, with very reasonable prices. Not only do I have a new stylist, but also a new friend.

I’m almost speechless. As someone who is seasoned in customer service, I’m appalled at the service I just received when I just called this salon. I’m not sure who answered the phone but I completely feel discriminated against. As I write this review, I still feel very uneasy. Isn’t it customer service 101 to know that the customers first impressions are everything? I guess this salon didn’t get the memo. I called to verify everything that their big signs in the front of the salon on magnolia say which was they except walk In’s, their hours, and ask about services and prices. The sign says«$ 35 Wash, Blowdry, &STYLE», literally like that in caps and everything. When I called, the ladys first mistake was speaking to me n a condescending tone. Secondly, I asked, Just to make sure do you take walk in’s & she says«it depends if we’re busy or not. I mean not if you walk up in here at 5pm *as she laughs* then no and what are you trying to get?» still talking to me in this slow, relaxed yet condescending voice. If she was nicer after that question, she could have gotten away with it but the convo gets worse. So I say«well I saw the sign in front for a wash, blow, & style for $ 35, I was looking to stop by in the next couple of hours like maybe 2 o clock or so» This lady says to me(with no idea as to who I am, what I look like, my background, let alone my name) that she doesn’t know if they are still offering that. I said well the big sign that u guys have on the curb and in front says that along with walk in welcomed. She says hm well that was something that we attempted to do and advertise to get other ethnicities & cultures to come in for services so we offer that to «THEM» but for you, you can’t get that so it would be prob a extra $ 25 to $ 30 because of «OUR hair», you cant just blow dry«OUR hair». as much as I wanted to say wtf do you mean by OUR hair? Because i dont know what YOUR hair is like, I didn’t. Instead I just thought to myself that this lady has lost her monkey mind assuming my hair texture and ethnicity over the phone. Ignorance is bliss. All she had to do was ask my hair texture and say that maybe that won’t work on me. Little Does she know because my hair isnt too kinky to wash and Blowdry. I’m mixed, my hair is Curly and fine AND if your trying to offer services like the Blow dry bar in west Hollywood, they do Blowdry ethnic hair with great quality blowdryers. ALSO, I would have paid the extra 30 dollars for convenience because this place is one block from my apt but I’m completely turned off! I wished they would get out of my neighborhood with this attitude. Instead I’m on my way to give my money to a hair salon that makes sense. So they lost my business and the business of the two people who were going to come in with me. 5 thumbs up to Tonya’s of Hollywood.

Stylist Shamiya @ Ms. Tonya’s of Hollywood has the magic fingers. I love my hair extensions so much that I «whip my hair back and forth» as if it were naturally grown from the roots. You Rock Shamiya! =-)

Tonya’s been my stylist since 2006 when I lived in Los Angeles prior to moving up north last August for school. There is a reason why I now drive over 300 miles all the way to Ms. Tonya’s of Hollywood every time I need to get my hair done. It’s because the quality of the artistry and of the service there is simply unmatched anywhere else. This does not only ring true of Tonya’s work, but also of the other stylists there. These people mean business, and they put in work! You want to look like a rocker chick? Going for the long luxurious look? Keeping it natural? Want an edgy look that no one else has? Seriously, any hair style you could possibly dream of sporting can be attained going to Ms. Tonya’s. Tonya has styled soooooo many people in the entertainment industry. Between that and her work as the resident stylist on various t.v. shows and movie sets, she has quite an extensive resume. Without fail she and her selected stylists deliver the same celebrity treatment to all clients from every background. Yes, the 300 mile drive is excessive. But then again, I don’t have to make it very often because the quality of Tonya’s work stands the test of time. Also, I don’t know about you all, but if I’m paying money to get my hair done I don’t want to deal with the bad attitude and malicious gossipy energy that often comes with beauty salons. This joint is classy. Everyone here is down to earth, hella friendly, and they have one goal in mind — to have you leaving there looking FABULOUS. I guarantee that you will! Prices are flexible too… there are always special discounts being offered. HIGHLYRECOMMENDTHISPLACE!!!

I started going to Ms Tonya about 1 year ago and refused to let anyone else touch my hair now. She is he best in the business and her staff is courteous and professional. Every encounter has been worth the hour drive from my house.

Ms. Tonya’s of Hollywood is the best hair salon in Los Angeles! Tonya Cryer is the best celebrity stylist and she makes your hair vision a reality! Although she is a celebrity stylist, she offers affordable prices to the general public! My hair always looks fabulous and I am always pleased with the outcome! She cares about her clients and she makes sure I leave gorgeous and satisfied! If you are a local or an out of towner, Ms. Tonya’s of Hollywood is the place to be!

Ms. Tonya’s of Hollywood is the valley’s hidden gem of salons! The ambiance is chic and serene. And the stylists are up to date on all of the latest hair techniques. I pass over 100 salons between Compton and the valley for an appointment with my stylist Shamyia. She makes it well worth the drive. She not only has my hair looking right, she’s also a great make-up artist and gives great fashion advice! If you want the most natural looking weave ever and maintain a healthy head of hair Shamyia is your girl!

As a recent LA transplant it was hard to find a styist in LA to style relaxed hair to my liking that didn’t involve a weave! Well I found that stylist in Tonya of Ms Tonya’s of Hollywood. She not only does weaves but she does relaxed hair as well and hooks it up! When I first went to Tonya my hair was NAPPY! And she not only made my hair look like i had just gotten a relaxer but it bounced too! It took a month for my hair to napp back up! I was very impressed nonetheless! She also trimmed my hair and was not scissor happy either… a pet peeve of mine since I am very particular about who I allow to put sheers to my head but I was in need of a trim and she did not disappoint. Tonya not only has cred when it comes to styling hair, but she is firendly, fast, efficient and she’s in the valley! I would definitely recommend her to others!
