Select-A-Seat

I’m forming a complaint against Select-​A-​Seat on behalf of poor business practices. I have contacted customer support on two occasions to resolve my issue.
Back story (Dec. 5^th):
— Tried to purchase a single ticket for the KSU/​WVU basketball game
— Card was declined
— Card had 2 transaction holds on my debit card. (2 of those being attempts to process my order with accurate information and sufficient funds)
— First attempt was discussing why I had a hold, and the CSR telling me that in about 24 – 48 hours that the holds should be removed. Not happy, but satisfied with the answer. Rep did not have a good tone or sounded enthused to help me.
Now the issue that happened today with the CSR. Now the story has changed to, 70 hours and that I need to contact the bank, because SaS is no where responsible for what happened to my account. More than 70 hours has passed, so that information is null to me. I explained my dissatisfaction with the answer given to me and wanted to speak with a supervisor. I was put on hold, and about 5 minutes later the CSR had told me that none were available, and he would present a second option of helping me. That option was to provide information about my bank, bank fax number, bank representative, my card, and how many transactions taken place and the amounts that were taken. I provided that, but he asked me information on whom they should provide ATTN: to, I did not have that answer. He then argued with me that I needed to know this and that he refused to find that information. I told him, this is a mistake on SaS, and that they should make the effort to reprehend the situation. That request was unreasonable and no customer would know that. The number I provided for the bank card, should have been enough to find that information out from the Bank itself. NOT my responsibility to find that information.
I told him that, repeating me the same information was not going to get anything accomplished and that he needs to take my information and use it. He finally complied and said that a supervisor will take action on making this right. A CSR should not argue with a customer or anyone who is seeking help. If I was making threats or being hostile, then yes the CSR can calmly tell a customer that if they keep doing inappropriate things that contact will be cut. That’s not the case here. I was trying to get my problem solved, and he was constantly arguing with me.
My point was to contact a Supervisor, and present my view on how SaS’s website needs a disclaimer.
If you are going to place a hold for every attempt to process a card, that is a diservice to the customer. That information needs to be on the website, for the customer to be aware of, so that the situation does not get worse. If I had a 100 dollars, and I tried to submit it 4 times, I would have 37.25 subtracted from my account 4 times, plus a 30 dollar over draft fee. Not letting the customer know that is NOT RIGHT. I have made hundreds of transactions with this card, and even times where my card was rejected for whatever reason it might be.
If this is how your system is setup, the customer needs to be aware, so that they are not submitting the order several times.
His argument that a gas station does the same thing does NOT apply to this situation. When a gas station does that, they make a 1.00 charge on the account. That is a check to ensure that there are funds in the account before processing the transaction. I have NEVER had a pre-​authorized charge that was the FULL amount of the «goods or services». Either SaS needs to update change credit providers, or they need to put a disclaimer so problems like this do not occur in the future.
That is ALL I wanted to discuss with a supervisor/​manager.
Because I was not able to do that, I had to deal with a disgruntled CSR that did not want to «deal» with my issue in a direct manner that was appropriate.
I am not slandering or «throwing» this CSR under the bus, I just want SaS to be aware and improve current processes and fix the problem I have.
I do not want to be talked down in a condesending attitude by a representative of your organization, because they REPRESENT the company. That makes SaS look bad, and I do not believe that it should reflect how you deal business with customers.
