This place is a hit or miss with respect to service. But more so a miss. There are a number of service reps always on the floor, but somehow it’s close to impossible to secure a rep for help because either they are too busy chatting amongst themselves or looking just plain unapproachable. Back when I was trying to get a new computer, I remember walking around the floor trying to find a service rep. The first service rep, I approached awkwardly because I didn’t know if he was on break or not, and I didn’t want to be rude if he was on break.(But do reps take breaks on the floor, or do they go inside a break room? I assume the latter, right.) He was sitting when I asked him a question, and he replied without even looking up from his phone in a very condescending tone. I mean, really? I understand that you may not enjoy your job, but at the very least act like you care about it. Meaning, at least act professionally by standing up to be courteous and sans the tone. Before I even got him to help me out with a purchase, he left to(possibly) help another customer(although I doubt it). Thankfully, I managed to find a nice customer rep in the end. I forgot her name, but she was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Now, I don’t expect to receive that kind of service all the time, but I expect at least easy to find help from professional reps. The pluses about this Best Buy: price matching, non-busy lines, convenient parking, intimate neighborhood feel(because nobody is ever here).

My son-in-law warned me about the poor service in Vallejo. I should’ve listened. Entered the store tonight knowing exactly what Tablet I wanted to purchase. A man helped my husband and I right away, went to check on the availability and any opportunity for a discount(I showed him a past price last time we shopped there). After ten minutes and waiting for at least one of the three reps to help us(they were huddled over cell phones in their own conversations), we let the man know how rude he was to not return to us with the info he was CHECKING on… at which time he informed us he did not have any. DIDNOTHAVEANYWHAT? Manners? All three stood there and watched us leave the store. We will not return.

That 1 year«Extended Warranty» does not extend your warranty another year. It just covers things like abuse or physical damage and runs concurrent with the manufacturer’s warranty. So that $ 200+ that my wife spent thinking she was getting an extra year, was a waste. When the computer died we were screwed. Worst than that was the patronizing employees that basically said, yeah we know it sounds like you get a 1 year extension, but you don’t. Screwed again, when I took my computer in I told them that the recovery disc would freeze at 11 minutes, the GEEK says, «that’s your hard drive». I questioned how magical it was that the hard drive was working just fine before I tried to uninstall Windows 10. He insisted it was the hard drive. Okay, I need it, please fix it. They put in a new hard drive and surprise, surprise the recovery disc froze at 11 minutes. They reinstalled Windows –8 and everything works. Except that I had to buy a hard drive that I didn’t need. These guys are like old time auto mechanics that just keep changing parts until they stumble onto a fix. All at the customer’s expense. I’m only posting after going through three levels of management that didn’t seem to care that I felt screwed again.

I attempted to exchange a product for the correct size which they don’t carry so I have been forced to accept store credit. The return policy expired on the 15th of January and I attempted a return on the 17th2 days after, they refuse to return the cash citing that if they provide cash it will be at the lowest sale price. When I asked to speak to the manager, the manger did not even have the decency to speak to me but only spoke to the sales associate. It is beyond me as to why Best Buy would hire management that will not speak to the customer. This style of customer service will quickly erode their brick and mortar stores and then the sales associate will realize why they are unemployed. My long standing support with Best Buy was established in 2000 and I am now questioning why I should continue to support them when customer service like this is displayed.

I have a deep understanding and empathy for racial issues. I understand that gentrification has terrible consequences for people of color and I understand that there is a plethora of micro opportunities for conflict in the context of race… this is why, when shopping in areas that are not predominantly white, I leave lots of room for being treated with a level of service that is sub-par to what I would expect from any corporation or service oriented business. Is this fair? Who knows. But it’s realistic. So when I go to a Best Buy and am left hanging for a prolonged period of time, presumably because I’m white and not a priority, this doesn’t bother me so much. I can enact patience and wait my turn or choose to be proactive and seek someone out. no big deal. At this location, I generally didn’t have a hard time with this, but I did spend more time than I would have liked waiting for someone to help me. Something that bothers me more than being ignored is when service reps speak as though they are more knowledgeable than they are… if you don’t truly know the answers to what I’m asking, don’t give an answer. Unfortunately, at this location most of the reps were quick to give answers to questions that I later found out were inaccurate. With that in mind, I decided to wait in line at the customer service counter to explore my questions with more attention, assuming they would be more sensitive to my needs and more willing to spend the time to do some research… unfortunately I couldn’t have been more wrong and wound up being«helped» by a snotty little kid who I’m certain couldn’t be bothered, partly because I am white, and partly because she hates her job. This is where I draw the line. I don’t care what your attitudes are about racial disparity in this country. If you’re working in the service industry, have at least a baseline level of respect that if you aren’t willing to help someone, you get someone else who is. Aside from that, the folks who were willing to spend the time were friendly. it just seems like an overly casual branch where I wouldn’t go again expecting professional help. Just to go in for a quick stop and shop, sure, but not to spend any time looking for answers.

Unfriendly staff: no greeting at the door, no one approaching seeing how I’m doing. DISGUSTING restroom. Abysmal isn’t even a strong enough word. Enough said

Down-to-earth, knowledgeable and multi-cultural staff, which is perfect for my shopping experience. I don’t speak tech-talk well, but knew what I was looking for and the staff didn’t insult me for knowing how to articulate everything. It eventually panned out in the end, and a lady named«Kat» helped, along with other staff members who worked well together in a very respectful way.

Just horrible service. No one ever asks you if you need help and everything is locked up so you always need help! I walked around looking for someone for ten minutes and then I just left. Then the door guy actually asks me if I bought anything. It’s no wonder that Amazon takes all their business.

I was helped by employees Courtney and Francisco with my Laptop purchase. He was patient and informative. Thanks again. I will absolutely recommend friends. Courtney is my absolute favorite. She’s awesome with customer service and very knowledgeable in the computer area. Definitely managerial material. Thanks Courtney!

Just as I thought the Fairfield store couldn’t get any worse, Best Buy, Vallejo pulls down its trousers and takes a dump on my head. I have premium insurance on my iPhone 6 Plus 128GB through geek squad(big mistake). Now after about a year it has serious problems charging. After waiting in line for 20 minutes at the cell phone section I finally tell them I have insurance through best buy. the lady helping me repeatedly asks me if I’m sure I don’t have insurance through verizon. I have to tell her 4 times that I don’t and she finally tells me to go to the geek squad line.
One geek is on floor helping at least 7 people in line. Nearly half an hour later waiting in line, I am informed that geek squad has put a «hold» on my account.
The geek is on the phone for another 20 minutes(with people waiting behind me) trying to figure out why. After telling me he has never seen this situation before he tells me to go BACK and wait in line at the cellphone section. I inform them that my account is apparently on hold. The phone lady tells me she doesn’t know why that would be and that I should call geek squads phone number. I call them in store an explain my situation. I’m on the phone with them for over HALFANHOUR. I get put on hold and have to talk to 2 different representatives. They literally can’t give me a straight answer as to why my account is on hold. Best buy refuses to give me a loaner or do anything about it. My insurance that i have put at least $ 150 into is on «hold» and no one running the show knows why. I spent about 2 hours in the store and accomplished nothing. I still have a broken phone that I am paying premium insurance for. thanks a lot best buy.
