A belated review… Mr. Seafood was very nice but trying to say that people prefer lukewarm chowder was obviously a cop out for serving something that was left hanging out too long prior to serving. He said that people complained that chowder was too hot temperature-wise. We didn’t believe this. Who would complain about food served too hot? He was just making excuses. It even had a thick skin due to sitting too long. Gross. The lobster was very good. The potatoes were good but really greasy. At the time we went, the service was terrible like it has been for every restaurant in this beautiful but possibly cursed location. Again Mr. Seafood was nice, promising us 2 – 3 free items just for coming in, but only delivered on 1 of the items. I don’t expect free food, just good food without the BS.

This place has been closed for months…“flood”…easy way out. This was the third restaurant to open here. maybe some of the same owners? The yogurt shop next door has also been closed for months… I think same owner. Does not look like this place will re open.

I absolutely love this place, my family comes here at least once a week, the food is great, the atmosphere is great-esp during football season, staff is friendly, the heaters on the patios at night keep you toasty warm while you enjoy a wide range of delicious cocktails, & the fresh baked break is heavely Thank You John for making such a beautiful place.

Came here to for my birthday dinner last night, everything was so awesome! We were given fresh bread with butter, it was really good and so soft! We had calamari rings for appetiZers, it was so tender and fresh! Then for our main course i had a ny steak with lobster brochettes with mac n cheese on the side and some rice pilaf. My boyfriend had shrimp scampi with mac n cheese on the side with sweet potato fries, it was huge and delicious! We also get to meet the owner and converse with him, he was pretty awesome and very nice! Service was top notch as well, the blonde girl was really nice! Will definitely come back again!

My rating is based on experience and not food. My fiancé reserved a(not so) private room for a party of 18 on valentines day. while our waitress was very nice and was doing the best she could, the(I’m assuming) manager came over and announced to the entire table that he would like to do one giant check instead of checks being broken down. I get that. It’s a pain to calculate out, but he did this well before we had any service, No drinks or food and he was already talking about how he would like us to pay? They were horribly understaffed which led to a very frustrated group. Drink orders were taken and after half an hour, we cancelled our drinks and walked up to the bar to get them ourselves. Only 4 people ordered food and that took over an hour to get out. My fiancé and I ordered a bottle of wine, it took 45 min to get it and only after we asked for it 3 times. When the manager finally brought it to us, he just set the unopened bottle right in front of us, no glasses. We had to call over a waiter to open it and get us glasses. The manager made everything worse. He came over and in so many words, told us that we shouldn’t have scheduled anything for that day and had we spoken to him when we made reservations he would have taken good care of us. every time he would come over to our group he was loud and waved tongs at us as he spoke. I asked him why he couldn’t take care of us then, he repeated about it being valentines day and being busy. Finally we spoke with the female manager and she was able to quiet everything down. This night was supposed to be a very special night to remember. My fiancé proposed to me in front of my friends and family just before arriving and we were supposed to be celebrating. Instead we were arguing with a very vocal, loud manager and dealing with frustrated friends.

Excellent service! Met Johnny the owner who was very friendly and charming! Amber our waitress was very good and if she didn’t know the answer to a question, she got it for you. We started off with the Calimari rings that were so flavorful and tender. The Lobster tail was very good and the Mac and cheese is a highly recommended side dish. The steamed clams were also very tasty and tender. We will be back.

While I see all these good reviews, I am unable to contemplate what people are seeing in the restaurant. This place has no comparison to Connie and Teds or the WaterGrill in Santa Monica. My assistant got the swordfish(which came out undercooked). They refired it, and it came out overcooked. My wife ordered their shrimp scampi pasta which came out with very cheap shrimp and almost no scampi sauce. It was virtually buttered noodles. I ordered their snow crab which looked worse than Red Lobster on its worse day. The Mac & Cheese was spot on. We complained. Mr. Seafood came out and told us he was gonna taste it. So he grabbed a piece of swordfish from my assistant’s plate and munched on it right in front of her. He said it was phenomenoninal. He said OK i will cook you Mahi Mahi. He asked about the other dinners and dismissed our dissatisfaction regardless we had not touched our plates. He told us 4 mins and came back 20 mins later. My 2 year old was done but he didn’t care standing there with his tongs. He made my assistant take a bite. Well that was it and we paid the OVERPRICED bill and left the table with 3 corn on the cons and three pieces of Mahi Mahi. Much like the previous 4 places there, this place is not going to last long. As a local business owner I cannot support this restaurant for this horrible customer service and bad food.

Wonderful! Had our monthly business mixer here and it was a GREAT experience. Everyone loved the food, Johnnie the owner made sure the platters stayed full, and the food was attractive, hot and delicious. I had a glass of wine served in a real red wine glass and a generous pour, unlike most places that serve in tiny white wine glasses. All of the staff were friendly and attentive to our guests. The atmosphere was lovely and the fire pit on the patio was awesome. Terrific place for a party or a cozy date. Thanks Johnny!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and just kept forgetting about it. We finally went in tonight and it was delicious. We just got appetizers as we weren’t that hungry but everything was good. I also got a few oyster shooters that I enjoyed. The cocktail sauce in them was very good. The host(maybe owner) was awesome. He spoke to everyone, was very friendly and then as we walked out gave us a loaf of the bread the serve at the beginning of the meal. The bread is fresh out of the oven and just lovely. We will go back soon.

Did I really find it? I can’t believe it. This place is one of the best Jems in the Scv area. I can’t believe I haven’t been here yet. This is definitely my new favorite place. I’ll be back. And the owner what an amazing man thanks for the desert

Seriously THEBEST servers, hostess and the owner must have given my daughter and i everything he could from the kitchen to try for free! So nice to have a new great spot in scv. The oysters were the best we have ever had and the lobster was delicious! The staff could not have been nicer or more attentive. Finally good seafood in Valencia

I just wanted to say Thank You for taking such great care of my girlfriend and her mother. They came in for dinner or 1÷9÷2015, and can’t wait to go back. It’s rare to find a restaurant these days with the personal touch that you will experience here. Although I didn’t attend this time around, I heard all about it. You made them very happy women! Thanks

I went to this restaurant on New Year’s Eve for dinner. It was our first visit and we were extremely amazed by the warm welcome of the hostess and the servers. For the starter we ordered the Shrimp cocktail and the warm vegetable salad they were both very tasty. For the main course we ordered fish and chips with a side of sweet potato fries and the bacon wrapped scallops with a side of potato wedges and salad. Everything tastes so fresh and good. Definitely one of the best sea food restaurants in the area. We also got their Raspberry Drop martini and the Pomegranate martini which were both very good with just the right amount of alcohol. Overall loved this place, great ambiance, amazing food and drinks, friendly and nice staff, will definitely be back very soon.

Decided to give their happy hour a try and was disappointed. They had buy 1 get 1 free drink from 2−7pm but no specials on food. Since we were hungry we ordered the calamari and lobster mac and cheese to munch on. The mac and cheese only had a few small lobster chunks in it. The regular menu may be better but I will not come back for happy hour

Really, more of a 3.5 but not quite. Went here with family after a time at the dog park. Dog was allowed on the patio – always a plus – but service was seriously lacking. Pros: Good food; nice patio; dog allowed; comfortable; easy location. Cons: I don’t even know how to describe the service. I’m NOT someone who cares about speed when I’m getting brunch. I’m there to relax. But finding anyone was a bit difficult and I honestly thought it was closed, it was so bad. All that being said, I’d go back. The food and patio were enough.

I was excited to try this place now that it’s under new ownership from what was previously The Chop House. I’m a big oyster fan, so having a local place that serves fresh, quality oysters is definitely a plus. However, as a restaurant, I’m sad to say Cuvee doesn’t quite hit the mark. When it came time to place our order, things got a little strange. We ordered a starter of some various types of oysters and then I ordered the lobster special, which came with corn on the cob and potatoes. I asked if I could switch the sides for something else(one side salad) and the server told me she didn’t think so because the lobster was a «special». When she said it, she seemed really unsure of herself, yet she didn’t offer to find out for me. The other menu options all offered a choice of two sides form a list that included corn, potatoes, and a side salad(among other things). If the sides are interchangeable on most of the menu, I didn’t see why they wouldn’t be interchangeable on the lobster. But, rather than cause a problem, I just ordered the lobster as is and then ordered a salad on the side(adding an additional $ 7 to my meal). My boyfriend ordered the linguini & shrimp scampi, which came with a choice of two sides(see photo). When he told the server what sides he wanted, she told him that dish doesn’t come with sides because it’s already a big plate of pasta. We were kind of caught off guard by that statement since the menu said it came with two sides. She went to put our order in while we thought about her statement some more. Not only did the menu say it came with two sides, but the price of the dish was comparable to other items on the menu, all of which were under the same heading to choose two sides. We felt like we were paying for the sides, so we decided to ask her about it when she came back. She told us that we can get the sides; she just didn’t think we’d want them because it was a big plate of pasta and most people don’t end up eating the sides. I told her that we do want the sides and, if we don’t eat them, we’ll take them home. She added the sides to our order, but she seemed very surprised by our choice. It was strange that she made the choice of no sides for us and that she seemed so surprised to find out we wanted something we were already paying for. Our food came and the oysters were awesome. They brought two types of cocktail sauce: a more traditional option and a vinegar-based sauce. The vinegar-based sauce was amazing and it complemented the oysters very well. My lobster was cooked well, but the corn(that I didn’t want) looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp all day. The potatoes were good. My $ 7 side salad was, at best, from a pre-packaged lettuce mix. It was complemented with a lovely under-ripe, green tomato and a few cucumbers. My boyfriend’s meal left a lot to be desired. The shrimp in the linguine was cooked perfectly, but the entire dish was pretty flavorless. You could see the olive oil and butter sauce on it, but it had no flavor. Not sure how they managed that since butter and olive oil are pretty flavorful on their own. He also ordered the macaroni and cheese option as a side with the idea of taking it home as noted above, but it turned out there was really no point to taking it home because it was also pretty flavorless. Again, cheese has flavor, so I’m not sure how it came out so bland. Overall, the service was OK but a little strange, the dishes were flavorless, and the oysters were great. We decided that we won’t be going back for the food in general, but we would go back to maybe do an oyster happy hour. Honestly though, that’s only because good oysters like that aren’t on every street corner in this town.

Sorry, this was a major fail for me. Their«gourmet» 2.00 tacos were really bad. Every taco had the same sorry mix of packaged cabbage. The scallops were tiny, the chicken tasted just plain strange and the shrimp weren’t any better. The sauces were not that great either. Oh and the taco is tiny, seemed smaller than a street taco. Maybe their new Lobster special is better, but I would NOT return for the taco. The bread was good though, that’s about all I can say. Oh and the restaurant had the grossest smell, it smelled like really bad cleaning products.
