Says Patagonia on the storefront but the service is not like other Patagonia stores. Was told that this store is owned by the resort. Guess that is some excuse or explanation for the sub par service.

Patagonia is a quality brand. You get what you pay for. I would love to dress in Patagonia from head to toe every day then proceed to wrap myself up in a Patagonia blanket and roll all the way to Patagonia. I love this stuff. It represents the adventurous spirit in us all, and gives us the tools to make our dreams come true. This store in particular is clean, has awesome friendly employees who don’t bug you or pressure you into buying anything, and they have a decent selection. I got an awesome one shoulder slingpack for the slopes for only $ 35. Durable and practical. It will be great for winter skiing and summer hiking. Super happy customer here!

We had different experience from the first reviewer. We were at the Lionshead store trying on several down jackets in January 2013. All the merchandise were the same price as Patagonia website. Additionally, there are quite a few down jackets and vests for 25%-40% off. At the time, nothing was on sale on Patagonia website. The staff couldn’t be more helpful. We were looking for a down jacket that’s on sale for different size. They didn’t have it but they called the store in Beaver Creek and located the jackets for us and put them on hold. They even offered to get the jackets from the other store for us. When we mentioned that we were in a hurry and wanted to go to the Beaver Creek store ourselves, the staff gave us very detailed information on how to get to the other store. The staff explained to us that both the store in Lionshead and Beaver Creek are not Patagonia official stores, but owned by the Vail resort. BTW the staff at the Beaver Creek were just as nice and helpful.

I should preface this w the statement that If it was socially acceptable, I would be in all Patagonia, all the time. Although this store seems small, they always have quite a bit of stock, and honestly, some of the friendliest, most accommodating staff of any Patagonia that I’ve visited. I’m cold when it’s 85 and humid out, so for me, this place is a lifesaver. Worth every penny.

WARNING — This store is not really run by Patagonia. It’s been franchised to a local sports store. Why does this matter? Because the prices are completely different than other Patagonia stores or what you might find online. Higher or lower? Take a guess — it’s Vail. Also, they won’t honor any coupons/offers from Patagonia. Be smart and buy your Patagonia stuff before you get here.
